  1. Just wondering of the implications of having a larger and wider wheel on the rear compared to the front. Like alot of the supras and mr2, skylines etc.

    Would there be any issues??

ALOT of the altezza i bring over from Japan have this set up too

  2. i have recently become the proud owner of an rs200 auto but as i am a newby i was wonderin if it is possible to get a manual for this car in english? if so where from and how much? and could anybody tell me why this auto comes without cruise control?

Welcome to the club smaat here's a link for the handbook

There is another one but I forget the name, just use the forum search feature. As for the lack of cruise control, I think you will find that most Altezza's are sold without it as well as Traction control, Leather/electric/heated seats and Head light washers. I think thats it. The flip side is that the weight of the car is reduced, which is always a good thing.

    Billsy

99% of altezza have the traction control Billsy and you forgot to mention all that extra power too :whistling::whistling:

I test-drove a few altezza’a before I got one, and none of them had t/c. Oh well you live and learn! Thanks Scott. Is it worth having??

    traction control??... nah...lol

takes all the fun out of driving... besides... by the time it starts to work your back nd is already whet out!!

  4. Got the car back yesterday from being installed...

Needed spigot bearing changed which cost me a day as they couldn't get for 24hrs.

They also had problem with no 5th gear... some foreign object got into the gearbox they reckon

Anyway... will take few days to get used to, but the pedal is light and smooth, no sqeaking noises now... theres small amount of shudder on take off... but i guess that will get less and less...

i have to avoid driving on boost too.. which is not easy!!!!!  :P

Those eastern wuropeans will do anything to get into this country!!:lol:

  5. i misquoted fujitsubo's figures.  They reuse the stock sized piping but remove the cat.

60.5mm is what they use.  I dont see any torque loss happening since you will be reusing the same size piping minus the cat.

I had a bit of pipe welded inplace of my cat, i felt no loss of torque but a big difference in top end power.  the exhaust was a little louder as well.

how many you wanting then mate... looks like only me and yopu having them!

  6. wouldn`t sell many without a resonator mate... would be too loud...unless i get 5 interested? :D

piping would be 2" or 2.25" i guess

Fair point on the resonatorless ones, will they be straight through, as in no baffles? 2 or 2.25 " would actually be a step down from the stock piping size.

Stock piping is 2 3/8 inches or 60mm. That being said the fujitsubo and kakimoto center sections are both 62.5mm/2.5".

can have them made in 2.5 if you want, but thought this might loose inital torque?...

and NO there won`t be any baffles... posting to you would be a pleasure!!

  7. 2 questions

    1) would this have a resonator in it?

    2) what diameter piping would you be using? (im assuming 62.5mm/2.5")

I'm a crazy ***** an would like to get one without a resonator but if thats not possible then you can count me in (if you can ship to the Cayman Islands)

  8. OK, who is interested in a de-cat centre section for there RS200 Altezza?...

Would be stainless steel naturally and cost about £150

this would have to be replaced by the standard cat come MOT time, but this is only 4bolts and will only take 30mins max...

  9. You would need to plug one of the sensor holes and just use the other one. This is not ideal because you are only 'looking' at half the engine and the other half could be running richer, although on a fully working engine this shouldn't be the case.

I take it you plan to swap over the downpipe just for the ESVA and then put the other back again?

If so it may work. Clearly the pre-cats are required to pass emmision on the ESVA, however you can just have the main cat for a pass on the MOT.

Just what i wanted to hear... You Da Man!!! :D

  10. O2 sensor after the cat is only used to check the cat is working and not to correct mixture, that is the job of the front sensor(s). I guess the JDM vehicles don't have this O2 sensor because they are not OBD-II compliant.

So how big a job would it be colin to put an auto downpipe on the manual>??

  11. no, that wouldnt work, one takes a before cat reading and one takes an After cat reading, the ECU then works out what corrections are required.

the reason the Auto would use the more advanced set up, is basically Automatics have worse emmisions.

the altezza doesn`t have a sensor after the cat?...

on the auto they are before the precats (where there are 2 pipes)and on the manual they it is a little further down the pipework ( where the 2 pipes go into 1) ( nearer the cat )

only the is200 which has the sensor after the cat

  12. dunno about the manifolds mate, all the ones ive seen have been aftermarket, and ive never brought in a Auto.

as for wiring in another lambda sensor, its not as easy as saying that, the manual ECU will not be set up for reading 2 sensors

what if they were wired together, then wired to the manual loom?
