Yeah low coolant and you'll have now introduced air into the system. You need to burp the system.
-
Get a decent aftermarket stereo.
All the OEM ones break eventually...
-
You must use irridium plugs.
Denso IK20 are OEM
Denso IK22 for supercharged
NGK irridium are fine, I've used them with no problems.

It's give caster angles which isn't adjustable directly (it is by adjusting camber and toe indirectly) so is guess they're WIM settings but I don't know for 100%
-
I can't see any tracking settings in the how to guide?

The temp gauge should be at 9 o clock. And it should never fluctuate. It should gradually rise until it hits 9 o clock then stay at 9 o clock. Does it take a very long time to get to 9 o clock? Or if it doesn't get there it's def the thermostat
-
If the bottom radiator hose doesn't get hot then the thermostat isn't opening
-
If you have an RS Altezza then it has a completely different engine to an IS200 so no wonder it sounds different.

We were looking for this car on another forum a few years ago. Just out of curiosity, to see who owned Alan's 300 lol
-
Person who did this to it probably didn't know the history of the car.....
What a shame.

04/05 models came fully loaded pretty much. Lexus fully kitted then out before the launch of the second gen so they would shift them.
You don't have an LE as yours is black. True LE's had a special colour, a sort of off blue, Kodiak sky it was called.
As said yours sounds like a sport with kit fitted.
But most later models, 04/ 05's had everything the LE had except the colour.

I have a friend from Botswana who used to live here in the UK. He runs the altezza owners club in Botswana. There's more in Southern Africa than you think but yeah rare! They're relatively rare here too, but you'll find them in countries that are right hand drive,
-
There about 5 bhp difference. The 300 making slightly more but is also much heavier than the altezza.
I'm quite lucky my friend owns an RS Altezza and an IS300 sportscross. We've dragged raced my IS300, his sportcross and his altezza (on private land of course) and you couldn't split it. You'd need a photo finish it was that close, on more than 1 occasion lol
-
That was an RS Altezza then! 😃👍
I've driven a few. They are quick but not any quicker than my IS300 😀
AS altezza is exactly the same as your IS200. Sane engine, gearbox etc.

Sounds like HG... Lexus say it sounds like HG.
Get your money back and wash your hands of this car. That's my advice anyway....

That's pretty impatient mate. Can take up to 4-6 weeks.
DVLA are swamped at the minute with the new tax rules etc. I know this as my sister works there.
You can always phone them as well and chase it up but they won't even entertain chasing it if you've been waiting less than 4 weeks.

Each cylinder has a coil pack. It's right on top can't miss it.
A coil pack takes the 12 volts that your vehicle system uses and it multiplys that voltage to anywhere from 15000 - 45000 volts and sends that to the spark plugs to ignite the air / fuel mixture inside your engine.
No offence but if you don't know what a coil pack is and does and where they are located I think you may need some professional help
-
You don't have to be a prospective buyer just a good customer I think. My mate just bought a new IS300h from Lexus Stockport. He got his place cos of the money he spent with them over the years. Bought a brand new IS200 then a brand new IS300 then a brand new IS250 and a couple of months ago a IS300h.
-
Also could be coil packs on cylinder 1 and 2. Move the coil packs to see it the misfire follows the coil
-
Mis firing is a symptom of blocked CATS.
Misfire on yours is on the same bank so could be the Pre CAT on the manifold on bank 1

Is that Gordon Hutchinson? is he on here?Yeah you'll meet my mate Gordon, he's one if them going. You lucky sods!!
Yes and no he's not been on here for years.

On the very early 55 plate manual 250 no it's £280ish. But every manual 250 after 06 plates yes. I think it's £470 or something ridiculous
IS250 does come in petrol manualIt is a shame they don't do a petrol IS250 manual ,then we could fit short shifters etc,why can bmw make a good manual gearbox and Lexus can't ,the discovery of perfection but can't get a good gearbox to work hmm ,imagine the isf with a manual ,it would be unreal .
Isnt the VED over £400 for the manual ?
-
Great news mate. £350 is a lot better!!
And main dealers wonder why they get such a bad rip off reputation and nicknames like stealerships!
Transmission Problem - Please Help
in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club

They're not sealed for the lifetime of the car. Lexus just recommend that you don't change the ATF ever under normal driving conditions.
99.99% sure that your problem had nothing to do with fluid or fluid level (therefore making a flush completely pointless)
Your problem, as stated a few posts up has to be electrical or ecu or mechanical in the gearbox.
If it was me, I'd buy that transmission for £550 and fit it. Prob fix all your probs.
