  1. Compared to my RX with V6, I had the chance to test a new NX with smaller engine (not turbo) and plug-in, and I was well impressed, mostly because it works in EV till higher speed so that thermal engine is off most of the time, but when it goes on the noise is quite low, so to not regret the V6 sound; the question about 2,5 turbo is how it is reliable compared to aspirated 3,5 V6; for sure it's less thirsty, anyway I am satisfied of mpg in my RX.

About new platform, it's firmer, a bit more rigid, and I found very good in NX test, so I guess will give same feeling in new RX.

Would I change my V6 for a new 4 cylinder RX? I don't know, probably YES but with a fear to regret something , even if probably I would take an aspirated 2,5 as  power is  sufficient to me.

  2. Just 2 days ago I had a test drive of a NX450h while I was waiting for a fast  cosmetic repair on my 2016 RX, and I have been positively impressed. The NX  works most of the time in EV mode in hybrid mode too, the main difference is the intervention of thermal engine at a speed far more higher than in RX (at about 70 km/h) , so in normal use it's like to drive a EV vehicle, till 120 km/h, Besides, I was worried of 4 cylinder sound compared to V6m but actually car is very  quiet and it's a bit faster than RX450h, and also more rigid but still comfy. I ended test drive thinking it could be my next Lexus, even if I will keep my RX for a long time as it like new.

  3. Bad weather with hailstorm caused some dents in my upper front right door  trim. You can see in pic.

Any suggestion to fix it, even temporarily ? I asked to vendor and he proposed the substition of piece (non so expensive but neither cheap), but have to wait some days also.

Have someone removed trim to tell me if I could try a DIY repairing?

Here it is the same 5 but in km/h.

Anyway, cruise control here with all the traffic is useless as the adaptive braking and the way people are driving make the car constantly brake - accelerate - brake so it is a more fluent and comfortable ride just to leave it off.

I wrote it long time ago, but to avoid uncomfy accelerations it may be useful with adaptive cruise to set driving mode in ECO.

  5. Wireless charging is somewhat standard, the difference is only in power that charger can supply and phone can ask to charger, so max power available just determines the  speed of charge. If you can, try to charge another phone and see if it happens charge stopping, in such evenience there could be a thermal security issue (have your phone in a cover?) .

Of course, don't forget to have the charger switch ON (green LED light on).
