  1. Having recently snapped a valve I then found that only a Lexus dealer (no tyre dealer or other car manufacturer) can recode the TPMS to put out the warning lights that appear if you have a non specific valve fitted to get you on the road. I cut the valve stem in half and found the corrosion to be severe. I took the car (2009 GS300 SE L) to Lexus of Croydon. Paid over £611 fro a 40,000 service and a new valve to be fitted by them. On collecting the car I was advised by the service manager they could not recode the car computer system due to one of the other tyres being 1 lb psi below pressure. They could not inflate it because they could not get the valve cap off the stem due to it being seized. Under the new MOT regulations changed on 20 March 2013 a car will now fail MOT if the ATMS warning light is illuminated. I am now in a formal dispute with Lexus and am awaiting to hear from Toyota head office UK. I have already prepared a letter for Toyota HQ in Japan. I am tenacious by nature and will certainly keep on the case. I expect Lexus to pay for a problem of their making - not mine.
  2. I would try and remove the passkey option and see what happens then - this is my best guess as I do not see how it could possibly work with two phones on one system, unless as you correctly say you have to go into the system and select the phone you wish to use. Perhaps you could offer me some help. I have just bought a 2009 GS 300 SE having previously owned a 2001 GS 300 SE from new. In my new car I find I cannot use the voice control on the hands free system. A message comes up telling me the number is 'not tagged' Do you know hoe to do this? Tony
