They have currently one IS200 at 328.9 BHP on standard internals - but larger injectors and 1Bar boost and one sitting at 242 with normal injectors.
Both are proving reliable with no problems and 1500 miles + over 55 dyno runs on the 328.9BHP one, this car also has 100,000 miles on the clock!!.
Link to You Tube video of the car in action on the dyno Link
It is going to be a bolt on option and IMHO FAR better option than the supercharger route.
I would post a link to the build thread but that site is blocked on this forum.
Funny suggestion... what about those people who have crushed their 1G-FE engine into pieces after
boosting it up to 0.8-0.9bar??

OMG a new V160 was that direct from Toyota ? That must have cost a bloomin boom, will be nice to get away from the auto though, there for wimps LoL
I have received a whole V160 Swap Kit from PHR which fits direct on the IS300,
but I'm not driving the A/T model, mine came from America with the W55 5-speed tranny. ;)

A DynoSheet & Video would be something useful....
:D

YESTERDAY WE WERE ASSEMBLING THE V160....
....and noticed that some parts are still missing *gg* :P
Clutch Fork
shifter bracket
Well, that for I'd like to find some solution
--> My plan is to have just ONE clutch line to from connector to the slave cylinder
OK so far I didn't read the V160-thread on My.IS very well,
then I would have known to order the Supra tranny rubber-bracket

Yesterday was christmas day :)
Finally I have received my V160 swap kit, everything is brand new and
ready for install.
Some small modifications have to be done, but we will start soon with the install.
Getrag V160
Shifterbracket
C's Shortshifter
OS Giken 1.5 way LSD
RPS Max Clutch with 6-paddle Solid Hub (TQ 825lbft) & RPS Cyn-R-G Segmented Flywheel

lovley car!
Yes right, more traction is a MUST right now!
I will look forward to do something in that direction. ;)

Yesterday was K-SPORT Day
Disassambling the stock brake system
We had to cut off the cooling plates, since it was too extensive to
remove them on the rear side
Comparing stock brake system vs. K-Sport front
Comparing stock brake system vs. K-Sport rear
Installing calipers, putting some grease on the shoes and install
Checking brake system, getting all the air bubbles out of the brake lines
FINISH!
front
rear
I also took some time for the cooling panel :)

FRIDAY was DYNODAY
A few IS200 S/C, IS300 A/T, my IS300 Turbo and one Supra were taking out the sh!t of that DynoJet
Here is my DynoSheet (PWR & TQ @ the wheels ;) ) nice result for just 0,8bar of boost
I couldn't believe the Supra put some 1.089BHP @ 2,15bar boost on the ground :shutit: :duh:
-
Yes it was great race, but that WRX was damn fast!
He did some serious tuning on his 2.5L REX, so he pushes something like 450BHP or anything,
at all he doesn't have problems with traction while I'm waiting until getting grip on the ground.
But everything will change when I have done the V160 swap

Last Saturday was... CAR WASH DAY B)
(I'm sorry for the pic quality, couldn't get a digicam,
so I took them with my HP iPaq)
1.) Washing by hand
2.) Coarse Polish on special places (Removing Holograms & scratches)
It was easy to remove raw areas from grinding last time
3.) Smooth Polish with Meguiars #83
It was possible to notice the texture of the house wall on the car's surface
(but sorry not on those pictures )
4.) Wax Meguiars #16 Carnauba Wax
It saves much material when doing that job with machine,
also the surface gets much smoother ;)
Result the shiny glaze and deepness of the TCM-Color is amazing,
not to forget the water-resistance of the wax..... I love it!
:
This has taken a 7-hour job to finish....

Camera works not great LOL
Should it be popping like that?
It's not the camera, it's the Youtube-Compression which is f*cking up the pic-quality :tsktsk:
Yep popping is normal on the AEM Unit, it keeps the turbo spooling when reaching the rev limit
and forces you to shift.

On THU April 17th was DynoDay!! B)
John Reed got his fingers on my Lexus, he came over from America to Austria
to do some serious Tuning on my AEM...
IS300 Turbo
Well on the way there the piping went off and I lost all the boost :(
so I had to get under the car, put down the cover and reconnect them ;)
...and then!
Result:
400 RWHP
510NM RWTQ
@ 0,8bar (10PSI)
rev limit @ 8000rpm
-
Sounds awesome mate, I enjoyed the videos :)
But I need English sub titles for the first vid lol..
we were just discussing about the boost-loss problem ;)
Sounds great mate,What does the car rev to?
I have set the rev limiter to 7500rpm right now,
will go up to 8000rpm soon B)
-
Today we did some testdriving ;)
We noticed some boost loosing with raising rpm
Well I'm going with a 0,3bar spring so maybe that's why it's not
going over 0,7-0,8bar (boost setup)
Well on the videos you can see the boost between 0,5-0,7bar
and consistantly stalling with raising rpm, no I have installed the 0,7bar spring
and let's see what happens ;)
On the Autobahn....
speedo & rev meter
Watch the boost then
Outside....
What will then happen when setting to 1,2bar?
Have fun with the vids....

i wouldnt recommend greasing the threads, as it will attract dust and dirt, and eventually will wear off
best to wrap the threads tightly in insulation tape, it will protect the threads from corrosion and can be peeled off to reveal nice clean threads
Never mind.... also if dust and dirt would get into greased threads, they will get loosen pretty easy.
Grease always reduces friction, you will wonder how non-greased threads will work,
it doesn't matter if tape or no tape, water always finds its way and the result is..... look my thread above ;)
At all grease resists against water!

BTW:
I'm offering right now my light-grey leather interior (electr. & heated)!
Front and rear seats, door panels and heating control panel!
Just one in Europe!
On ebay:
Maybe somebody is interested :winky:
-
The standards rods really are thin arent they!
yeh the sure are. didnt think they were that thin
And now wonder why some people have blown their engine,
when pushing it over 0.8bar of boost :shutit:
-
When I look those on eBay...
... and look at my custom internals once I had and they were made for over 600BHP, 550NM and 9000rpm....
... then I would say that they would easily take a power what that engine will never be able to make ;)
Good offer in my opinion... wondering why that guy is not offering a combo package (including pistons),
he should know, when some IS200 would need those conrods, it would also want some pistons for lower CR (9:1)
Turbocharging The Is300
in Supercharging & Turbo Modifications
Posted
That's the same engine as in the IS300, once it was an ordinary 2JZ-GE and just got turbocharged. :winky:
