  1. firsr of all i would jack up each rear wheel and spin them by hand to hear for any grinding noises etc...from experience a clicking noise from brakes ususally indicates the pads are loose in the calipers..is the shims still there or broken ?...try reversing then pulling forward usually the pads click due to lifting in the caliper pad housing...if fitting new pads i would gring off any lips on the outside of the discs...plus check the inside of the discs for signs of scoring etc...hope this helps,,,cheers
  2. Firstly i would move the sunroof back and poor water along the roof channels to make sure the water flows down the sunroof drains ok...sounds like a leaking windscreen or sunroof although have seen leaks in floorwells due to missing grommets etc in the bulkhead...try pulling back the front carpets and get someone to spray water over the front of car and the windscreen..roof etc whilst having a look inside to see any drips etc when the water is strayed at each area..take care to remember you are trying to simulate rain and not force water into the car...hope this helps
  3. cheers guys. got a P1349 code back from a mates garage...VVT system fault.....the engine still runs fine and no lack of power or misfires as such...removed VVT actuator at front of engine and cleaned it out also the cone shaped filter housed in the oil feed bango bolt opposite the acutator which i teased out with a pen...car has done done approx 100 miles since then and Management light still staying out...hopefully repaired fault but will replace vvt actuator if management lamp comes back on...cheers for the advice and great site
  4. is it possible to reset the management lamp on a is200 54 PLATE without going to a main dealer ?,,,cheers
  5. Help !...just bought two lexus is200s for me and her indoors...A 53 plate and a 54 plate....the 54 has done approx 40 miles since i bought it private...the MANAGEMENT LAMP has come on but the car still drives fine...i have mechanical experience but virgin to owning the excellent Lexus brand..Whats the most common faults for the lamp to come on...is it possible to get the m.i.l code manually or do i need a OBD+11 diagnostic kit to get the fault code...is it possible to disconnect the battery to reset the M.I.L light ?...whats the most common faults for the M.I.L on...am guessing a faulty Lamda sensor reading the forums....any help greatly appreciated..am based in Scotland...cheers
