hi after the car getting stuck last night & having steam coming from under the bonnet i checked only to find the original radiator having a small leak at the bottom ,i could smell coolant aswell , also i seem to have wet oil just starting to come from the rocker cover where the gasket is above the manifold. my question is how hard is it to change the rad , i have working a/c and would hate to have to discharge that can it be done without. also is the manual and auto rads different ive noticed 2 outlets at the buttom of the rads on ebay pics? also what can be done with the gasket leaking? cheers 2001 is200 sport auto 150k and counting.

has anyone done this job yet how hard is it to do and what bulb is it , mines gone aswell.

yes mines ok when cold , ill prob change the oil in the box and diff and see if that helps. is there a filter on the box to change also has anyone got a how to on the box and diff , cheers.

hi ive got a 2001 lexus is 200 with a auto box , ive got 2 problems with it and dont know what it could be , first question is when i come to a junction on a steep hill in drive if i take my foot off the accelerator when standing still the car rolls back , if its in drive shouldnt it hold? same happens if facing down hill in reverse , the second question is every now and then when im driving the lexus in drive when it changes up it does a little vibration , its defenatly when changing up , it might do it twice a week depending how much i drive it , it almost feels like im driving over the hard shoulder anti bump strips. ive checked the oil in the box but only when stood level with the engine off , i know on some cars i have to have it running , also would it be hard to change to oil in the box? thanks in advance.

hi im after a front wheel bearing for my 2001 lexus is 200 and where i work i can order bearing galore but need to know the correct part numbers for these , ive had a look on fleebay and the net but cant find any numbers at all for any , can someone help please and i can get these ordered . or any front bearing part numbers would be great.

hi when my is200 is cold i get a wheel bearing noise that gets worse when im cornering to the left , its coming from the passenger side. ive stripped the caliper off and the disc off , and im left with a hub thingy that looks as its all in one piece , what do i have to do to get to it , theres no play in it , it just seems dry? thanks.

its turning over fast enough and the volt meter is around 14 voltish whilst running , the only thing is ive noticed is when driving in the dark to work when i rev the car the lights go bright and when it goes back to tick over they go dull , dont know if this has anything to do with owt .

try taking your key to timpsons near you and they will do a clone key for £25 , ive just had mine done so i have 2 keys now im well happy , it also fits my glovebox when my original key doesnt.

hi ive got a 2001 is 200 with 149 k on the clock , im meant to be driving to whitby in this on saturday but over the last week its developed a problem , it did it on monday and then again today both when the the engine has been stood overnight and all day today , its just cranking for ages before it fires up , its just the twice its done it , usually it just fires up straight away , what could be the problem and what can i check? many thanks

is this why mine feels a bit twitchy on the road??? i thought it just needed tracking.

im sorted now , ive been down to chesterfield town centre and popped into timpsons and they reckon they can do a non remote key cut and cloned to my existing key for £25 , they have a half price sale on at the moment , so ive ordered a black , so in a few days ill see if it works , happy days.

hi my wheels are shot on my is200 , its a 2001 y reg and im thinking of just buying some 2nd hand alloys , what other types will fit with no problems , mine are running 225 45 17s , do many toyota wheels fit , do i need any spiggots ect , cheers. sorry if its been mentioned before.

where did you get yours cut , im in chesterfield , do timpsons cut them , ive rung pollards up the locksmiths on derby road and they said they cant do a remote key but they can do me a clone key to the one i have , that would be better if they could , they said £70 to supply ,cut and clone the key to my car , or if i got one on ebay it would make buying the key a but cheaper , im told theres a few different lenths.

it stays on 2/3 seconds but does have the 3 buttons inside , i dont trust myself to look after the key so , i dont want to but i think its ridiculaus buying a new ecu and lockset from lexus for £1500+ like they said so the car will have to be sold , such a shame as the car is great.

mines a black 2 button key it opens all doors and the boot but not the glove box.

hi like in my last post ive only got the black 2 button key for my is200 , and have been told its the sub valet key , it fits the boot but not the glove box so im stumped on getting a new key , anyway i thought id change the batteries in it today and when i tooki the cover to bits i saw another button under a plastic cover , i pressed this and the boot opened , how come my key has got one of these , its not a stand up proud button like the unlock/lock , it sits below covered up , but like i say it works the boot. just another question can i get another key from ebay and have it cut to match mine , who cuts them instead of lexus they want £40 , ive got a spare grey sub key from another is200 but apparently it wont programme up for my motor.

think ive done it , ive changed the belt and the dirty fluid , it seems miles better up to now , ill see in the morning.

ive checked the belt and it seems tight enough so i pulled the pump pulley and theres a little bit of play in this , should this have play in them? it looks a easy job to change if it is bad?

mines a 2001 and the key i pictured on here at the start does open the boot and glovebox , and the last reply confirms that mine could well be a master?
