    phoned them up. technician went through the car and picked up on the headlight issue with water in it. apart from that, tensioner and water pump isn't required they said. I clarified this with them 3 times over the phone. they will provide full report. how does that sound?

    okey doke, cheers. They aren't replacing water pump or tensioner - it's only done 41k miles with Lexus dealer history (11 stamps). Although it's best practice to replace water pump, as you need to take the belt off to access it, it wasn't necessary they said. The techie said 4 in 10 he does on the IS300 from a water pump perspective. They are the old GS300 engines / inherited from Supra, he knows them inside out. Rgds.

    Hi, Had my car for a fortnight - impressed so far...but.... Car is at the main dealer haviing a cambelt done. Good news is that the water pump is spot on the technician said, same goes for the tensioner etc... They said that i have water in my headlight (ns) and to replace it is £330!!!!!! Apparently the bulb is flickering and could blow...is this a common problem? The IS300 have the HID lights, but obviously mine has gone water in it(!) Help! Cheers, S

    Thanks for the accessories booklet. It suggests sensors in each corner, ie 2 but I have 4, ie corners and 2 in the middle.

    Hi, I have a broken parking sensor on my IS300. There are 4 on the back bumper. Two on each corner and two in the middle, spaced out below corners of my number plate. I have seen these on other lexus cars on the road, they are ugly with a black outer edge. One of them as per the pic is pushed in, hence the outer plastic edge is cracked. Where can i get hold of one? I called Woodford Lexus, they ordered two in and its now becoming a big puzzle - they can't find the correct one! Cheers, S

    Dull sound. Its coming from the back i think. When I looked up my records, it has had pads last year at the lexus dealer. discs are not lipped that much, seen worse - i would say lip is 1.5mm. the disc surface is very rough - i.e. not smooth but slightly rough - is that normal?

    Hi, I have an 02 IS300 with the surface mounted ugly sensors that have the black surround. Where can i get replacements from please - part number? I have 4 on the bumper, two on the corners and two in the middle - it is the middle one that's popped in and the plastic surround is broken. Look forward to your reply. Thanks.

    Hi, I have been noticing my IS300 Auto 02/02 with 41k on the clock with full main agent history is making a judder noise and grind when conducting high speed braking, i would say braking from 50mph+. It isn't a pain, but I can feel and hear something. Low speeds is fine, i.e <50mph. Any advice chaps? Cheers.

    Hi, I have a 2002/02 41k IS 300 Auto that has full main agent history all the way. Just realised it has gone past 10years old and obviously cambelt needs to be done every 100k or 10yrs whichever is sooner. I have been reliably informed, the IS 300 is better than the IS 200 engine, as the latter requires idler / tensioner replacement whilst the IS 300 shares the same lump as the GS 300 which needs just a belt. Is the above correct guys? Which dealer do you recommend in the SE from experience? Cheers.
