My car is not recognising the smart key which had a new battery a few weeks ago, it will not open the doors or turn in the ignition even though it did last week after being left for a month unused. I have tried resetting by pressing the door button at the same time as the key button but to no avail. Does anyone have any idea of how I may resolve this please? Cheers. P.S., I'm not keen on Lexus' idea of the AA trailering there for a ride on their diagnostic machine @ £50 + VAT.

I've had the same problem today but when I tried to trickle charge the battery it set the alarms off. I have concluded my problem is the car is not recognising the smart key which will not open the doors or turn in the ignition even though it did last week after being left for a month unused. I have tried resetting by pressing the door button at the same time as the key button but to no avail. Any ideas apart from calling the AA? Cheers.
