  1. Cheers for that Geof I think I will try changing the indicator bulbs first and see how that goes. I have read a lot on the US forum and loads of people have changed lots of the bulbs successfully. In the book is just gives the wattage and says 'wedge type' so am a little confused as to what type I should get? 501 / 585 / w5w? Are these all the same? Anyone know what UK type bulb number should I look for? Also if that works there are replacements for the main 'dipped beam' front lights H11. I know on the higher spec CT they have LED main lights, are they just bulbs or is the full lighting unit different? Help great fully received. Come on don't be shy! Seth
  2. Hi All I am considering changing some of the bulbs (interior and exterior) for new ones The indicator bulbs show up as frayed eggs so I know you can get silver looking ones (I had them in previous cars) but I was considering LED Any thoughts or has anyone done this? Also may change the footwell bulbs for blue LED as I think this would go well with the cup holder light? Why do you think that an Eco car doesn't come with a full LED kit? Seth
  3. Hi Chaps I have just taken delivery of my boot liner from torquequipt. It is great, has lipped sides in case of spills and a middle section with an anti slip bit to keep things in place. Above all it was £35! I would recommend but be careful as there are two types, one with the base speaker and one without. Photo to follow Seth
  4. Hi Daniel So I have had my car for 10 days now and they have been pretty cold days too. I was worried that the Advance didn't come with heated seats (a luxury that I have enjoyed on previous cars) but Chris at Lexus Hatfield explained all about the Tahara seats and said that they weren't as cold as leather ones. I put this down to him being a salesman (I had just had a couple of hours of BS from a Merc dealership) and decided that with the savings made between the Advance and the next model up I could do without! Chris was right, they are absolutely fine, much warmer than the wife's Shogun leather seats (although that does have heated seats) We also have a 4 year old boy that thinks EVERYTHING is a climbing frame. These seats are really good, unlike leather they don't need any treatment, just a wipe with a 'baby wipe' to get marks off, they are warm and look very nice. Chris also said that they wouldn't crack or crease like leather ones do over time. As for the wear and tear, ask me again in a year but all indications are that they are fine. Oh and they will also appeal to Tree Huggers (sorry, but I like that phrase) Seth
  5. UPDATE Just had Dennis from Parking Sensors .co .uk come and fit my sensors. Really professional job, they look great and work really well. I know I paid a little more than if I did it myself but they are guaranteed and I didn't need to get my hands dirty!! Very pleased and would recommend to anyone (who can't do it themselves) I'll let you all know if anything changes but really happy. Now on to the next mod??? Seth
  6. Sorry chaps, I hope you haven't taken me the wrong way. I am just rubbish at anything DIY and if they break then getting them fixed would be hard. I have them in my wife's Shogan and they stopped working after just over a year, they were dealer fitted not factory fitted. I'm not sure how to check what has broken and my local mechanic said it would cost more in his time to find the problem than getting another set fitted.. There is talk about 'replacing a broken sensor' but when the beeps stop how do you know which one? (Told you I was rubbish) I'm just looking for a company that won't rip me off and will fit them for me and that will give me some kind of comeback if they stop working. There is a lot of talk about this on other forums so if I find someone then I'll let you know And as for china, I am a great fan. But eBay can catch you out sometimes Seth
  7. Thanks guys These were my thoughts too but I am not really keen to start drilling holes in a £24k car myself (I am rubbish at that kind of thing) and, call me old fashioned but I'm also not keen on buying Chinese knockoffs on eBay as not sure how long they would last. Hope yours are fine, I just want to moan at someone else if things go wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions as to who I can get to come round and install them? There is a company you can find in the net if you type in 'parking sensors' into google. They will fit rear ones with a monitor for just over £150 or micro ones with 6 sensors for £189. Anyone used them or have others to recommend? Cheers
  8. Hi all There doesn't seem to be a thread with photos of people's prides and joys. If you love your CT post a pic so we can all enjoy it too. Here's mine
  9. Hi all What are your thoughts on aftermarket parking sensors? I didn't plump for the factory fitted ones (a bit over priced at nearly £600) so I am looking at aftermarket ones. I am not a DIY'r so I want a company that will come and fit them too. I have seen Dolphin ones on the web that also have a little monitor on them and they get good reviews but anyone used them or anything else? Seth
  10. Hi Joan I have only had my CT Advance for a few days and am really happy with it. The seats are fine, as they are not leather they are somehow not as cold so I recon you can do without heated seats. Also keeps all the vegans happy!! Lexus Hatfield are fantastic. I am sure that they will look after you. I dealt with Chris and he was really great. Hope that reassures you Seth
  11. Hi Geof Yes your correct. Hatfield Lexus are very good. I deal with Chris and have found him to be fantastic. He didn't as much SELL me a car but more like advise me on what suited ME best. Outstanding service ( my CT was a few days delayed so they lent me an RX450 to play with). I would recommend Chris to anyone. Oh and he gave me a free box of Lexus chocs to keep the wife happy too Mention my name and ask for a discount!!! Seth
  12. Thanks Geof Looks like the kinda thing I would have loved on my turned up / tricked up cars of the past. These days I can probably do without. Cheers for the thought anyway. Oh and thanks to Steve for the link to 'fuelly' I have signed up and will be monitoring my fuel. Seth
  13. Thanks Steve I am really enjoying my new toy, I just wish the rain would stop! Thanks for clearing that one up, it would have really got to me as I would be trying to completely fill the battery all the time! Cheers Seth
  14. Hi all I am new to this site so hello to everyone I just brought a new CT Advanced (a 13 plate on 13/03/13 - is this going to be a lucky car?) and had a couple of Q's for you. There doesn't seem to be an engine temp gauge, it sounds funny but coming from an Audi A4 I used to check it all the time to make sure the car was warm before driving it more enthusiastically. Is there one hiding somewhere? Also I love the battery charging / usage meter but does the battery symbol ever show completely full? Oh and my tuppence worth on the hard suspension: there is nothing tough about it, just makes the CT stick to the corners better and stops you getting sea sick! Cheers Seth
  15. I signed up for a service plan when I got my new CT on Wednesday. They worked it out over a 10 year basis (or 10 services) so to fix the servicing costs at today's prices. We all know the price of oil alone is going up up up. This works out at £19.60 a month and I can stop it, transfer it or sell it with the car. Good idea I thought.
  16. I was wondering about that. Thanks, very useful. I'll try that. Seth
