What do we think of this one it a lot more expensive, he could probably get a warranty with it amongst other stuff and a a bit of haggling with the dealer.
It is a high price. £16k is what I paid for my GS450h, also on an 11 plate but lower miles, 3 years ago.
And I got three years warranty thrown in. They may struggle to sell that one.

Though they are the only Lexus dealer I have used, I have always been impressed by the service at Listers, Cheltenham. There are several little jobs that they have done for free, that I expected to pay for.

The price will depend on whether you have the DVD mapping or the HD. As Pete says above, the DVDs, or copies, are relatively cheap. If you have the HD system then i think the cost is in the region of £140, as it is only the dealer that can update it.

At that price, delivered, I am also having one. Cheers.

I am a bit behind with this thread but I once triggered the Check VSC after filling the car with fuel and adding some Redex to the mix. Once the tank was empty and refilled, the light went out pretty quickly

You may want to check the exhaust. Any holes near the O2 sensor can trigger the VSC light

I guess white and black are always going to look dirty shortly after washing, which is why so many go for a neutral grey, as they can go longer between washes.
(I'm not talking about Lexus owners of course - we keep our cars spotless regardless of colour).

Thanks for starting this thread as I will be making the same move sooner or later, as I am sure others will. Please keep us updated with any other differences and similarities that you might find and don't forget those pictures that you promised us.

For the price of one years map update from Lexus, i have a TomTom sat nav with free map updates and traffic updates for the life of the unit. Not as aesthetically pleasing maybe but i would rather move my eyes to another part of the windscreen than all the way to the central console, to see where i am going.

I fully agree diesels aren't brilliant vs a nice 6-cyl petrol hybrid, but the diesel does come with a proper gearbox...

I suppose the point I'm making is I bought my 07 GS450H after looking at similarly priced 530d and E350Ds, the Lexus was far better value for money. Cheaper, less miles, newer. Now if I do the comparison I'm really struggling to justify the lexus!
It looks as though someone justified the Lexus; it is now marked as sold.

Yes, heated washer nozzles is not too much to ask for on a car of this type, perhaps wired into the rear screen / wing mirror heaters.

i believe that it was part of the ACC system - where fitted - and only operates when the radar is live.
The reason why they are pretty vague about it is that it is designed as a supplementary system, to start the braking system, and they don't want people relying on it in the event of a collision. Whilst the system might be quicker to start braking thanthe driver, it is up to the driver to complete braking.

Firstly I would like to say that I don't no the person or have anything to do with the company selling this product
i don't, no do any of my friends or family make this product
I just thought I would let you all no of a cheep product that would help keep you pride and joy safer.
after reading on this form about potential theft of our loved Lexus cars, and how they can now use a detector from out side your house and scan for your keys anywhere in your house I decided do give this product a go, and can say that it works perfectly, once the keys were in the pouch I stood next to the car and the boot and doors would not open, I took the keys out of the pouch, got in the car, put the keys back in the pouch and the car would not start, ( a message saying " Keys not detected ).
I brought 2 of this , one for my spare set of keys and one for my general use keys.
At less then £3 each I think it was a very good buy.
Nor do I have any association with these people, but the one I ordered arrived today and works perfectly. Only enough room for one set of keys (especially with all the gubbins that my wife has on her keyring), so I shall happily order another.

Having read this report, should we be worried, or do Lexus do things differently?

On a similar note, the top speed, as we know, is electronically limited to 155mph. Does anyone know what it would be if it were not limited?

I recently had the 50,000 mile service with Listers Cheltenham and the changing of remote batteries is shown on their checklist as something that they do every two years / services.
If I had known then I would have given them the credit card sized key that I actually use, rather than the spare set from my desk drawer.

If you do have key cover, report any losses promptly. When we lost a key, certain it was in the house, I spent three months looking for it before reporting the loss - only to be told that losses have to be reported within 28 days.
I was only trying to save them the cost of replacing it...

These are two interesting threads, in particular the suggestion that sitting with a foot on the brake could warp the discs, presumably because part of the disc is not cooling at the same rate. Is there any evidence of this?
Personally I prefer to put it into Neutral once a car has pulled up behind me but my wife keeps telling me that that is going to damage the gearbox. is she right? Should we be putting it in Park?
What should we do in this situation?
-
It looks like an error as, you are correct, it was not an option until the 2010 facelift.

Spotted whilst reading another thread, these people seem to have one - http://www.mosesgatecarsales.co.uk/used-cars?type=Car&make=LEXUS&model=GS+460&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=
... along with four GS430's

Sorry that I am late to this topic, but my previous Lexus also had only one key which was a little worrying given my wife's habit of putting down keys almost anywhere when coming into the house.
I am sure there was a discussion on here a few years back that recommended an independent person, in the Midlands I think, who was doing this somewhat cheaper, though it would of course mean taking the car there for programming. I did ring and confirm the details with him, but I changed the car before I got the key cut. My current car has three keys, including one that is safely in my drawer, for when my wife finally loses hers.

I have these two PDFs. The 2009 one seems to have some accessories towards the back.

I too have one. Eighteen months now and still looking for excuses to drive it as often as i can.
I can't remember the last last time I saw another one on the road though.

Whilst I cannot answer any of the above, I guess it is worth checking which iPod touch you are buying. My 4th Gen iPod Touch had the old style apple connector that was probably fitted with your iPod kit. By the time they get to iPod 5th Gen it is the new "lightning" connector, which I guess will not fit what you have.

The screen display says they are in Wilford, which if correct suggests somewhere in Nottingham, which given the postcode you are quoting in the Autotrader ad (which suggests they are 79 miles away) sounds about right.
