  1. Steve My initial concern regarding roof racks was the fact it would be hard to get all four bikes up and down. I didn't really consider rear weight being an issue, saying that you are right in that it will be sprung outside the wheel base. Let me research some bike forums etc. Thanks.
  2. Need to get a tow bar set up so I can carry a 4 bike rack. So far I'm finding very little around.
  3. Agreed this would be a useful feature, I found that if the key holder touches the front passenger side door handle this unlocks all the doors. Beep when locking/unlocking with key can be programmed by dealer (according to this www.lexus.com/pdf/service/IS250_LPS.pdf). Though as this is a US doc I could stand corrected.
  4. Take a look at this pdf, I found it quite useful for features on the car. The next step i guess would be getting hold of the programming module. www.lexus.com/pdf/service/IS250_LPS.pdf
  5. Below link shows you where the button is. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/631003-trunk-button-replacement.html
  6. I can confirm thet the button in the glove box is to activate or deactivate the boot opening. So it only works with the key alone or With Key and button by steering wheel + touch sensor on boot.
  7. I got some from amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001P5SPJW/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), these come with instructions. Luckily for me I did not need them as it was daylight at 7pm, so they stayed tucked away in the glove box. I also got a GB sticker for the number plate , but i did see quite a few cars without GB stickers (better to be safe then caught out by French Police)
  8. Looking good, out of interest did you got for the one where you send the wheel away for a refurb or the mobile one.
  9. Mbay - That is a decision only you can make. Based on all the responses from everyone if this is the car you want then go for it.
  10. Guess will have to agree to disagree. And like you said depends on what options the individual values in the car.
  11. Not sure if it would be right to compare a SR with a SE with sat nav and ML stereo (which is quite rare). There are also other differences between the cars (apologise in advance as i am blocked from looking at the picture of your car at work). SR - Bodykit and larger alloys SE - Leather (which is a must have for me)
  12. What i found with dealers is that you can also negotiate in other ways, lets say get the 60k service thrown in incl spark plugs. Something that would cost you allot, but them allot less. I got my car serviced pre purchase and they also replaced 2 tyres.
  13. I found the cars with sat nav and ML to be at a premium when i bought mine 3 months ago ( as much as i wanted these I decided to go without as the standard stereo was good enough for my ears and I bought a garmin + i got a good deal with a dealer). I recommend you use autotrader to compare with similar spec vehicles to gauge realistic prices. The advantage of a dealer is the 1 year warranty which i think they normally sell for £700 odd and the European roadside assistance that they gave me.
  14. This is something I am very keen to look into as well (OEM sat nav). I guess the million dollar question is how easily these will swap from a normal unit. Also interesting to see if anyone else on the forum has done this. Not sure if the bluetooth and reversing camera would work without additional components.
