  1. I have, however it is quite a large hole (over 1cm) and chips away quoted £70 but said it would not look particularly nice. Another option I have been quoted for would be to put another seam across the seat, however I would have to get the drivers seat done too so that they match. This sounds like the best option so far at about £200.
  2. Sorry, I guess I should have said that it is on an IS200 Sport with the black Alcantara/Leather trim.
  3. Help! I have a rather large hole in the passenger seat upholstery. Lexus have quoted me a horrendous amount to supply a replacement cover. Does anyone know a good upholster or have any ideas where I could source a new seat cover? Thanks in advance for any help. Durbs
  4. I'm based in Herts. I emailed about 7 dealerships but most of the emails failed or they havent replied. Hatfield, Bracknell and Park Lane are the only ones I have had quotes from. I appreciate your help as there seems to be such a big variation in prices out there. It may help me decide if and who I order my IS220 from. Which reminds me, has anyone used drivethedeal.com to buy a Lexus?
  5. Wow, latest quotes range from 520 up to 645. Does the LOC discount work at all the main dealers?
  6. Can anyone suggest to me what a good price would be for a 60000 mile service on an IS200 Sport. The three dealerships I have contacted vary by over 120 pounds! Thanks in advance for your help. Durbs
  7. I was just wondering if anyone had put together a POI for Lexus dealerships? If so, would they mind letting me have a copy? Thanks Durbs
  8. Well that is what they told me on the phone. Halfords didn't have the taller ones either. Anyway, I gave up and got the standard size. I'm so glad to have my own plate on the car now. Be sure to give me a hoot and a wave if you see me, Silver Is200 sport with number plate "DUR8S". Cheers guys Durbs
  9. I need to get some new plates made up for my IS200 and am having difficulty finding anywhere that makes the taller ones for the rear of the car. Even Lexus Hatfield and Edgware only do standard size ones. This must look really odd on their Is'. Does anyone know of anywhere in the Bucks/Herts area that might do them. Thanks
  10. New VW Passat maybe. The new DSG gearbox is really good. Honda are apparently hiking their prices from 1st Sept.
  11. No Xenons on the diesel executive I'm afraid. I don't know why... I have the I-CTDI with 17's but no Sat Nav. It's a very good car and feels a class above the Mondeos/Vectras of this world. Fuel consumption isn't as great as Honda publish though. I do 90% Motorway driving and only get 40 - 45mpg, compared to the 54mpg Honda claim! Great torque though, and engine is near silent when cruising. Don't forget, this Accord is marketed as an Acura TSX in the US, which is a competitor to the Lexus IS... ← Thanks for that, I should be test driving one this weekend. Anyone interested in an 02 IS 200 Sport??
  12. Durbs - what about a Honda Accord 2.4 Exec? these are really well spec'd (Sat Nav, xenons, Leather, elec heated seats etc) Great to drive too. I have the i-CTDi Executive. You could pick up a s/h M3 for 25K too... :) ← Funny you should say that, I have been looking at the CTDi executive with Sat Nav and 17" alloys. Seems to be a nicely put together car. Yes i'd prefer the Lexus, but I have had a quote for a lttle over £21000 for the Honda. Thats nearly £9000 cheaper than the SE with Sat nav, sunroof and metallic paint! Do you get Xenons on this model too?
  13. Out of my league on price too. Any suggestions on cheaper alternatives for people like me who have a budget of £25K and want a high spec'd car.
  14. No i saw it at the dealership. I don't think it is official yet. The prices mentioned on here are about right for an SE. Don't expect auto, sunroof or sat nav for that though. Where is the price list is it on the Lexus UK site? ←
  15. I have seen the proposed new prices for the IS, and unfortunately it has priced me out of the market. I hope for Lexus' sake that they havent set it too high so as to alienate their current sales base. Time for me to start looking at Honda and Mazda to part ex for my IS200 I guess
  16. I have managed to scrape one of my alloys down the side of a rather high kerb. Does anyone know anywhere that I can get it repaired? Either a national company or one in Herts/Bucks would be helpful. If anyone knows how much it should cost I would appreciate that info to. Thanks
  17. My local garage tell me they awould use "Blueprint"? Should they be okay
  18. After 40000 miles my front brake pads need changing on My IS200 sport. (Rears still only 30% worn!!) Now then I have had three quotes. Lexus Hatfield quoted £150 + Vat. My local garage say £80 including. Is it just that Lexus are expensive or will they be using different types? Which do you suggest I go for? Thanks

    What Tyres?

Cheers jonthebarber. Just ordered from them now. Apparently the IS200 tyres have reinforced walls!!?? And an extra £14 for the privelege!! Thanks for all your responses though
  20. I need two new front tyres for my is200 sport. I am being told that there are specific versions of the Dunlop SP9000 for Lexus (Which cost more!!). Why is this? What tyres do you recommend. I currently have Dunlop SP9000 215/45 ZR17. Best quote for these so far £160 each!! Thanks
  21. Two hours later and it has started working again!! Bizarre! Maybe it was interference from a microwave link which has now been switched off. Doesnt explain the beeping stereo though!!
  22. I arrived at work this morning and tried to lock my car with the remote. The red LED on the remote flashes but nothing happens. The only strange thing that seemed to happen prior to this was that whilst driving to work my cd paused and the stereo beeped twice before resuming. Does anyone know if these two things are linked or what the problem may be?
