I have mine on all the time too.
I will take a photo of my thermometer in the vent sometime this week to show peeps.
It instantly goes to about 4C but after recirculation has been on and about 10 mins of driving it drops to about -1C to -2C
-
Just thought I would do a bit of bragging and tell you that 5 months on after my air-con was gassed I have finally managed to get round to measuring the temperature.
On cold the air comes out of the vents at 28F
Yes you have read that right -2.2C
I can actually eat an ice cream in my car without it melting !!!!
Bearing in mind that the outside temp today was 10C I think this is pretty good
How COOL is that !! (excuse the pun)
Has anyone else got theirs colder than this ??
-
So eating a cheese and onion pasty in your car is definitely out of the question then ???
-
Firstly I DO NOT condone street racing however I just couldn't help myself.
Come up to the lights and there is a black 10plate Mercedes C350d next to me, Pull away from the lights and he gives it a bit of right foot so i just kept up with him but didn't think too much about it.
Next set of lights I could hear him revving it up and thought well lets give it a go.
Lights change to green and off we went.
To be fair it did give me a run for my money however it is still not as quick as my car. As soon as I realised that he wasn't going to catch me I just slowed down and let him catch me up.
Needless to say he went past me like I was going backwards then pulled onto the motorway and shot off so quickly it wasn't worth me catching up to gloat !!!!
£800 car vs £15000 car
1 - nil

I have just learnt that setting the value of my car at £5000 rather than £1000 brings my over all premium down from £1250 to £800
Taken from confused.com
"We've estimated the market value of your car, based on a few
assumptions. If you agree with the value displayed, please continue with
the quote. If you believe this value is incorrect please type in the
correct amount before continuing. Your car will generally be valued at
market rate in the event at the point of a claim where your vehicle is
stolen or written off."So basically what this means is no matter what you value your car at in the event of it being written off we will make up a figure !!!
So I have wrote that in my opinion my car is worth £5000 to me !!!
I think it is to do with over all value to excess ratio and obviously the higher the value the less of a percentage the excess is.
I hope this isn't classed as fraud as I genuinely believe that my car is worth £5000 (well it is to me........ honest !!!)

Adrian Flux are too expensive for my mk4 ls400, over £800, I pay just over £300 with the company I'm with, I don't use compare sites as there's a middle man making a lot of money, I know I work in insurance
Who are you with Messi
I am with direct line
When my renewal comes through this time I will be shopping around as I have 6 years no claims and have been driving for 7 years now
No crashes that were my fault within the last 5 years and no points on my license either.
Yet because I will be 24 my insurance will be about £800
-
My steering wheel is KNACKERED
Totally EFFED
But I have a comfy protector over it that I just leave on so I really don't care
If that is the only problem after 260000 miles then I am a happy bunny !!!
-
I had no idea we had a spy until I saw the photos of the car !!!
It is really nice though
Shame about the bad repair on the exhaust (I wonder who did that !!!)
-
-
Right northern commentary !!!
I did say it is a bit strong however it is justifiable hahaha
I just think the whole video is bloody brilliant

This is bloody brilliant !!!
Hope they lost their license for dangerous driving
P.S it does have some "colourful" language too !!

I have just bought 2 Nexen 225/50/17 for the front of mine and after reading the bad reviews on the internet I can't see what the problems with them are.
They hold in the wet and they don't make too much noise !!!
Oh and they were cheap and they are legal !!

For your car Castrol recommend Edge 5w40
Castrol also recommend 10w40 Magnatec
However Valvoline recommend all of these
This is totally your call what you put into it but all that we know by what you have told us so far is that it has the wrong oil in right now
Good luck on making your choice
My personal choice for the MK1 would be a good quality 10w40 but don't let that sway you. Ask the garage what they would recommend or even consult the handbook too.
-
Well for starters your car has the total wrong oil in it
The later VVTI require 5w30 C3 (according to Castrol) and the earlier ones require 5w40
For the earlier ones
http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectionbodycopy.do?categoryId=9024084&contentId=7073092
For the VVTi
http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectionbodycopy.do?categoryId=9024084&contentId=7073092
No-where does it say to use 5w30 A1 for either engine
Going by Castrol and Valvoline I think a full oil change is in order
-
I also use 5w - 30 sympathetic oil in my. LS400 and doesn't use a drop between servicing and mines at 136,000
Best get the plugs checked to see if they are oiling up a little .. Or give it a fresh oil change with quality oil
When did you get your LS400
Do you have any photos to upload ?
-
I put 5w30 C3 in my car
It has an oil leak that actually appears to be awful - either from the oil level sensor or from the oil pressure switch (think its the sensor) however my car lose VERY little as in less than a cup full over 4000 miles !!!
Maybe someone has put in Bermuda Oil one minute its there and the next its gone without a trace !!!!!
-
I thought red was for danger as the only red number plates are in Belgium and they are Europe's worst drivers
Kinda like "danger, please give this car a wide birth !!!!"
-
Mine did this once in Europe
After a long 6 hour run at an average of 95mph I parked it up over night and when I came to it in the morning it would go in to drive but not reverse.
Left it ticking over for 5 minutes and still no difference.
Walked away from it effing and jeffing.
Came back to it about 6 hours later and tried it again and after 1 minute of ticking over went straight into reverse and its been perfect ever since

I pay almost £1000 with Direct Line
5 years no claims
Been driving for 6 years and one fault crash in the last 5 years (lots none fault)
0 points on my licence
Oh and I am 23 years old
But this year I will (hopefully) have 6 years no claims and I think that should count to something
Been with Direct Line for the past 5 years and every year my renewal from them is the cheapest and I cannot match it on the market with anyone else but I still ring up and knock them down a bit

The belt was Lexus, the tensioner, idler, etc., was Blueprint oem quality.
I am sorry to tell you this but Blueprint is NOT oem at all.
You have to be very careful about this as they are just a packaging company and it is a lucky dip as to what parts are actually inside the box
Taken from their website: http://www.blueprint-adl.co.uk/products.htm
Blue Print is the leading brand of aftermarket parts for Japanese, Korean and American vehicles. The
Blue Print range contains over 20,000 part numbers in more than 100
different product groups. The range not only covers every mainstream
Japanese and Korean model, but also many derivatives, “platform shared”
European vehicles, Japanese “Grey” Imports and UK specification American
Vehicles.

Wheelspin! what about the TC?
Yes it kicked in - good job because with the power under my foot it felt like I could spin the world backwards !

That's Monster-Mats car, LOC management. The one pictured not the boy racers//////
Yessssssssssssss its the closest photo I could find. At least that one was done with a purpose and not to be lit up in McDonalds carparks.
It's not my taste at all but that was the kind of car it was as I said but with a bad paint job and odd wheels.
Bet Monster-Mat wouldn't try racing me on a public road though :P
Changed the photo as I don't want to offend anyone on here and the new photo is a bit more fitting with the spoiler too !
-
Yours looks rather nice
Not just silly boy for trying to race me on a public road but just silly boy in general for trying to race me :P
Yours looks really nice and NOTHING like the one that I saw today.
It looked really dark matt green (or just a bad paint job) blacked out badges ridiculously lowered but it must have had a good sound system to hear the radio over that racket that the exhaust kicks out :P
Nice job on yours Chris that's tastefully done
His kinda reminded me of this
Only with odd wheels and a crap paint job !!

Circoli is not OEM however it does come with a 2 year manufacture warranty and also has metal impellers which is better than the original one
Allegedly they also have SKF bearings in them too
Good price though - it is cheaper than if the belt snaps !!!!
