  1. My son ordered replacment alloys allegedly to fit a LS430. When he checked them, they hit the brake caliper on the front wheel. The company that sold him them then sent wheel hub extenders to allow them to fit. Beleive it or not. they wanted him to remove all the hubs and hammer out the old wheel studs to replace them with longer ones. As you can guess, the whole lot has been sent back for a refund... I know it is sacralidge to fit flashy alloys on a Lexus, but it is his car/choice. Has anybody succesfully fitted after market alloys to a LS430? If so what was fitted and where were they from? I'm not happy having to fit spacers etc. to bring the wheels out to make wheels fit. Thanks Andy
  2. OK, New struts fitted in roughly 10 minutes for the pair. They are realy good and only one strut held the bonnet up on it's own. Now when you open the bonnet, once you lift it up by around a foot you can let it go and the struts take it up the rest of the way on their own, Magic... Removal Prop up the bonnet with something. unscrew one of the top securing pins with a 12mm open end spanner. Unscrew the bottom securing pin with the same spanner and remove the strut Fitting Screw in the two new securing pins that comes with the strut where the old ones came out. 13mm open end spanner. Push the new strut on to the pins. It just pops on. (thick end of the stut goes to the top) Carry out the same for the strut on the other side. One happy bunny... No more bonnet dropping on my head. FYI, the struts I received are manufactured by a company called Strongarm. I did take photos, but I'm not sure how to upload them on this forum. I might try when I have time. Andy
  3. I am proposing to fit them myself when they arrive. I will see if I can take some photos if you want. FYI, It is my son's car and he has just purchased some new alloys for it. I will put some pictures when they re fitted. Don't shoot me down in flames for tarting up a Lexus though, it's not my choice... :outforcount: Andy
  4. I have two bonnet struts on order from Rockauto.com It was only £41.00 for a pair (including delivery from the USA). I have ordered a few things from there and all have been good quality, so I'm quite comfortable ordering from them. There were some cheaper ones, but I went for the more expenive ones. Look under www.rockauto.com , they have loads of Lexus bits. Andy
  5. I'm getting a Prins system fitted on my sons LS430 soon. We have two cars fitted with Prins already and I have access to their diagnostic software (which is handy to have). But I agree with using what you know and have had a good experience with. However, I think the good installation of the kit is the key part. Andy
  6. UKLPG have just sent a marketing e-mail out stating you can buy their code of practice books on one CD for a one off, exceptional bargain, one time only, short time offer price of (WAIT FOR IT) £3,000.00
  7. I would back up what Marco says about the use of adaptors. As LPG forecourt engineers, we attend to investigate many instances of customer injury where the users have received a cold burn through using an adaptor.
  8. Thanks Steve Any guide on what they charged and what system do they fit? Regards Andy
  9. My company car and my son's Vectra were done at the main Prins place in Southampton. I'm hapy with their work, but it is a fair track down for me.
  10. Hi Has anybody had a Prins LPG system fitted? If so what is your impression and what did it cost? I have a company Mazda 6 converted by them with a liquid injection system and i got them to convert my son's Vectra VXR. My other son has an LS430 and wants it converting. So would like any opinions good or bad. We live between Doncaster and Scunthorpe. Thanks Andy
  11. I think that was bluesman marks car. I like that to but there is rumour around that the UK government my ban the use of the required adaptor. The final decision for me was my damaged spine, it just had to be in the most accessible position. I wouldn't touch anything that needs a screw on adapter. These can be extremely dangerous as they unscrew when you are trying to unlock the nozzle. I work for a forecourt LPG maintenance company looking after the pumps. We get many calls to adapters stuck in nozzles and cold burn due to adapters. Avoid them at all costs. Andy
  12. Parking sensors are around £23.00 plus postage from here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Toyota-Lexus-Parking-Sensor-OEM-89341-50011/545731931.html
