  1. had mine re-furbed last week and they look perfect sounds dodgy - how can pitting just disappear ?
  2. I've been looking for someone in the Halifax area to refurb both my front alloys on my IS200d and last week, called at a tyre place in Sowerby Bridge to ask if they could recommend someone? Anyway, they recommended Star Garage on Wakefield Rd Copley, so I called there and the owner (Mark) said he could refurb them for £45 each. Left the car yesterday and collected it today - more than happy - the wheels look superb.
  3. Well, I just took the plunge and ordered a Blacksys CW100 from Amazon. They're on special offer at 70 quid with free p & p - some E-bay sellers are asking double that. Just hope it works and my car isn't broken into to steal it......
  4. Would a motion detector camera have caught this, as the engine was obviously switched off, and the in-car cameras I'm looking at, don't seem to operate under such circumstances? Can anyone recommend what type of unit I should consider please? Thanks
  5. Sadly, it's not just the bumper - the impact has pushed everything slightly sideways, so the boot is sticking
  6. Bought a single used rear reflector from a breakers in Dewsbury today - at £30 it is better than paying over the odds for a new one, but as my wife said - it's a Lexus so parts are gonna cost !
  7. Left my 2010 IS200d on a side road in Knowle Bristol on Tuesday morning, and when I returned to it at 2pm, some kind person had put a dent in the bumper on the rear nearside. No note or cctv around, so I'm left to stand the cost - the body-shop has quoted me £380 plus a rear reflector, and want the car for 3 days I was thinking that a rear reflector would be around £15, but doing some research, it appears to be more like £50 :arrrggg-matey: Aaaaghhh
  8. Collected the car yesterday from Lexus Salford - they've put new fob batteries in both fobs) and that might solve the problem. Time will now tell
  9. RRG have had the car for two days now and tell me that they're awaiting a Lexus tech to carry out tests on it to solve the problem - hopefully by tomorrow, as I no longer have transport
  10. Just a bit worried in case the fobs de-programme and I have to take them to Lexus for re-programming. Also, the alarm goes off if you use the metal key
  11. Well, I got locked out of the car (2010) two months ago, the day after buying it, and it has gone and done it again. Its under 3 month warranty, so the dealership (RRG Rochdale) has come to collect it today. I travel a lot, and am grateful it happened on my drive, not maybe 85 miles away at my head office in Notts or even further. Neither fob works, and Timpsons refused to renew the fob batteries as "we can't touch Lexus fobs in case they de-programme".......
  12. I have a 2010 200d and if it's starting up from cold, the tick-over is faster - about 1200rpm, than when the engine has warmed up, when it displays 900-1000rpm.
  13. Just bought a 2010 200d with 21k miles. Be grateful if average service costs (next one at 31k miles) could be indicated, and is it worth going to Lexus Main dealer, independent Lexus workshop, or local garage?
  14. Well, the car was delivered back to me this morning after being trickle charged overnight and new batteries in the fobs. Pleased to report that it does now lock and unlock as it should.
  15. I'll certainly not let him leave tomorrow without confirming that I can lock/unlock the car. I don't live in a built-up area, but in a small village on the west yorks moors. I'm not aware of my neighbours having issues - as the car is new to me, I don't know if the fob batteries have been going weak, but I think that the car hasn't been used for at least a couple of months. The mechanic did say that they test batteries before releasing cars and that mine was ok.
  16. Hi, I don't have a mobile at the moment, and the Wi-Fi has been unchanged for a couple of years - the dealership think it's the battery, as both fobs wouldn't be likely to fail at the same time ?
  17. Well I collected my 2010 IS 200d IS-l yesterday afternoon (21k miles and just serviced/mot'd). Drove it 10 miles home and parked it on the drive - noticed difficulty in getting it to lock, but after several attempts it finally did. Got up this morning to find that it wouldn't unlock, and neither fob would do anything. Used the key but that just set the alarm off, disturbing all my neighbours. Phoned the dealership who suggested a flat battery and eventually they agreed to send a mechanic up to see if he could solve it. No luck, as it just did the same, but using the key he opened it up (alarm blaring) and managed to start it. He's now taken it back to the dealership (10 miles away) to put the battery on charge, and I've been told I'll get it back tomorrow. So it's a day without transport and I'm not that impressed.
  18. Just buying a 2010 IS 200d SE-L - first foray into Lexus ownership, but impressed by the fact that the insurance will only cost me an extra £54 .
