Congratulations! That shot of the rear is amazing. Looks incredible from that angle.

Had conti sport contact 6 on my Evora and used them on the Nurburgring ring and they were epic. I’ll be putting them on my rcf... when I get one... if it needs tyres 🤪

Funny you should say that.
I’m keeping my options open right now - and only today made an offer on a Golf! Adore Golfs!
Keeping your options open until you sell it to me for £2.99.... just because that’s a great price?

Interesting points that seem to agree with what I was thinking. I think the older you get you place greater importance in the other areas of a car that matter. When looking at a class of performance car all it’s competitors will be within a nats ball hair of each other to 60 so the differentiator becomes something else, be that build quality, handling etc.

Amazing with only 25 ish around there are ever any for sale!

Indeed, just don’t want to sacrifice colour but may have to. Really do want white.

@Stuno1 Been for sale for a long time..... which as we know is nothing unusual for ‘F’ cars 😏
Big Rat
Oh ok, only just seen it on autotrader and been looking for a while. I need prices on the carbon cars to come down a few k! Wishful thinking but you never know.

With 0-60 bragging rights showing no sign of slowing and it still being used as a key determining factor for many when buying a car, how much do you care?
For me, as long as it is under 4.5 seconds I am happy BUT this needs to be coupled with a decent top end speed of 170 ish. The reason being 4 ish seconds to 60 feels plenty fast enough and if the top speed is 170 ish then the car will have power at all speeds and throughout the tev range which is key for motorway driving (overtaking) and b road jaunts.
Cleary these are not top of my shopping list with, handling, reliability, ownership experience etc being more important BUT 0-60 always rears its head when talking about sports cars.
Mat what point does 0-60 become a consideration for you?

I'm estimating that there are around six white RC-F Carbon editions in the UK. I suspect most of those would be over the 15K mark. At any one time, there's probably zero for sale. You are going to spend a long time hitting the refresh button on www.autotrader.co.uk 😉
@Nikki have you got your new car yet?
Indeed, I will sacrifice colour if need be but white with 5k miles per year is the ideal scenario. Time will tell.

Just in case anyone is interested an Azure Blue one (non carbon) has come up for sale at Lexus Ipswich. Price is lower than usual.... no photos yet.

I consider that high mileage. For many these will be weekend cars and mileage is a massive killer to re-sale. For a 2015 car I won’t be buying (if I can help it) a car with higher than 15k miles.
-
Ideally you need a 3 car garage:
- light weight sports car for the weekend only.
- sports/gt car for when added practicality is needed but fun can still be bad. Maybe European adventures.
- family daily wagon for chores and mashing about in.

I don't drive fast anymore so doesn't matter to me which wheels are driven.
So before anyone says it, Yes, the RCF is a little wasted on me.
But I like rare cars.
For fast road use the best car I've had by a long way was the Audi TTRS
People say they're boring, soul less etc but for a usable car that you can get the power down where others can't, it's a clear winner.
I think the RCF is too big and heavy for tail happy driving, for me that job would go to a Toyota GT86. I learnt to drive in AE86's
So it's a good question/topic Flytvr, we should maybe take a bit less notice of magazine articles done by racing drivers on race tracks.
Issue with the gt86, Elise etc is they can’t do touring and even day to day are firm and not well refined. The rc-f and the competition do both pretty well without being perfect at either. That’s the draw of them I guess.

I guess it all depends on who is doing the pushing...

It is the most enjoyable set up in a car. Awd cars have too much grip unless they able to put power bias to the rear and even then the levels of grip detract from the rear end twitch of B road jaunts. Front wheel drive is just understeer and torque steer.
Its not all about the track, you can have fun slipping the back end out on B roads. You don’t even have to be going 8 tenths to do it. Also the feeling of being pushed along from the rear is great.

A couple of tiny chips on the bonnet, but you’d live with the car before you even noticed them.
Lexus dealer was just a straight take the car off my hands deal - no part x.
That’s good then chap. I doubt you will still have the car in April next year but if you do I’ll get in touch. Depending what the dealer offered it may be out of my budget but who knows.

Will do.
I’m not in a rush to sell. Not even had chance to try a C63 yet and with it being school holidays I doubt I’ll get near a Mercedes garage for a few weeks yet.
I spoke to a Lexus dealer the other day and I was pleasantly surprised how much they would pay to take the car off my hands 👍
And the question re the protection lasting and any stone chips visible on the bonnet/roof?
Oh ok, as in as part of a part exchange or just to buy it back?
Depending what they offered when the time comes we may be able to sort something if all the stars allign.
-
Man it looks great in white.
Can you notice any stone chips in the bonnet or roof?
You will probably move it on before next April/May but if you don’t, drop me a PM as that’s when I’ll be looking. This is assuming you are changing for the c63 or lac as per your other posts.

Ummm - is that question for me?
My car is just touching 9,000 miles
Oh ok one popped up with something like 35k so wrongly assumed it was yours.
Same question applies I guess but clearly fewer miles.
-
I neglected to ask the most obvious question! After 35k ish miles did you have any stone chips on the bonnet or roof that penetrated the protective spray?
-
The c63 struggles to lay down power which can be fun or a hinderence deoending in the type of driving you are doing. The interiors look lovely but have lots of cheap materials. They sound epic... absolutely epic. Be interesting to see what you think when you drive one.
-
I love the blue but that is more than I would be willing to pay. The red one is The red one with 17k on it is more my price range. Will have to see what prices are next April ish. My preference is white, blue, red, silver all with carbon. I do need to see the red though as not sure about it from pictures. As always it will more be dictated by what is available when the time comes given how few there are.
Ahh s*** got wrong tyres again!?.

Ah cool. Be interested in your view once you have put on some miles.
