I think so Matt, what p/n do you have on your original disc?
-
It depends if you find a friendly CT centre. Some will pass it with the stickers but you are suppose to change the units. Some cars don't require either, my friends Subaru didn't require a change as the lhd and rhd lights were exactly the same so maybe check with a dealer.

How do you find it Frankie? I've heard good reviews but never tried it

So I have just filled my tank after using my first full tank of fuel. When I picked the car up it was almost on fumes so I filled up at a supermarket. I'm going on a longish journey tomorrow so thought I'd fill up today, it took 54 litre and I covered 626km on this which equates to a measly 32.6mpg :( I do tend to travel short distances quite regularly so I'm sure this will be a massive factor but I was getting an extra 12mpg on my old mk4 Golf.
So when I filled up this time I used a Total station and chose premium diesel. I also cleaned the egr valve this week, the unit was replaced in June so didn't think it would be too bad but there was a fair amount of carbon build up. (I'll post a pick if anyone is interested?).
I'm also going to use a fuel additive. It's not a well known one and I'm not going to say the name as any advertising doesn't seem to go down well here. It's a relatively new brand that I saw good results from on my mk4 golf, the car ran smoother, started easier and warmed up a lot quicker which in this cold weather improves mpg. I'll report back the findings, the seller told me that to his knowledge nobody has tried this on a Lexus is220d so I'm the Guinea pig!

eBay.de seems very good for original Lexus discs. Just got E18 west Europe for 70euro delivered
-
Woops sorry I forgot to paste it....
-
Here you go Matt, this is the same seller I bought from. You can make an offer and save a few quid
-
Too late for me now. It was £33 for 2013 update on this site (but I guess it's a copy). I found the latest version on eBay Germany for 70euro for an original disc so I went for that. It arrived today and works perfectly
-
It looks like I can get my map for about a quarter of the price that Lexus want to charge from this website. Has anyone used this site before? I take it they are copy's but as long as it works I have no problem with that.
Also do you think it's ok for me to run part number pz445-x03eu-0e instead of pz445-x03eu-0f?

Thanks for your help Geoff. I'm new to Lexus and never realised that the sat nav disc has to be in all of the time for it to work - mine was working so the disc had to be there. I also didn't realise there was a seperate drive for the Sat Nav
Anyway, after a lot of fishing around i found all the info i needed. The code on my disc is 86271-53030 this is part number PZ445-X03EU-0F. It does turn out to be slightly different thank your P/N Geoff but that anyway! It's 125euro on http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/Shop/Index i'll email http://www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk/ to get a price off them but i guess it will be the same

I'm happy to have read this and it not just me with this issue, I picked up my car last week and I've been thinking it's been massively overfilled! I'll take a closer look for the break in the oil
-
Fantastic, thanks a lot Geoff! The problem is though it's not possible to put that part number into
-
As title, bought my car and found this to be missing. I think it comes in 3 pieces?
-
Good stuff, keep us updated. I'm running the 1st tank with no additive then I'll be adding something I used on my Golf. Hopefully it will work well on the Lexus too, especially with the EGR and DPF problems.
-
I want to update the sat nav in my is220 but the disc that came with the car doesn't have a part number on it. According to this website http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/
I need the original part number of the original disc. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi Frankie, I'm glad to see a good review for an IS220d! I picked mine up on Friday and so far I love it. I'm yet to fully find out what mpg I'm on my 1st tank of diesel and the computer reads out 8.8 litres per 100km! This equates to 32mpg! I'm pretty sure this is wrong as I've been taking it easy and I've had some pretty decent runs. I'll wait and see what the calculation is at the end of the tank.
One thing about your last post, you said you fill up with 50 litres, the tank is 65litres on an is220d. I filled up Friday for the 1st time and with only 11km left in the tank it took exactly 60litres (computer must say 0 miles remaining when there are 5 litres left I guess)

Yes, as I thought then - there is a piece missing. Now off to search the net for missing part .........

Hi, I've just picked up my IS220d and found that the Battery has been replaced but the clamp was just resting on the top. I have two pieces, the bit that lies on top on the Battery and the long rod that runs down the front of the Battery. I think there is a piece missing at the back, does anyone have a picture of how this fits normally?
Thanks!

Hello, I'm Gareth I'm British but live in France. I've just joined up as I've just bought a 2007 IS220d. I've been looking round the site for a couple of weeks now so after picking the car up yesterday I've decided to sign up. The forum has already been a big help so thanks already! I've got a one or two issues that I couldn't find answers to so I will start a new topic in the appropriate place!
I was a bit hesitant about buying a 220d but so far I love it, mpg doesn't seem good though and I'm still to use 6th gear haha. Besides 6th gear the box is great (after reading so many bad reviews).
I've just found out the car has a K&N panel filter, are they ok to use on there engines? Some engines don't like them due to the oil getting onto the MAF sensor.

It's a product called Diesel Rhino, it's quite new but is getting more mainstream. At the moment you can by it from the website and from a few service stations so I hear. It's been around a while in the VW world. I used it on my Golf so thought I'd try it on the Lexus, seems excellent so far. You can find more info if you google it or look about on VW/vag forums
