  1. CT does have a harsher ride than most vehicles I've driven, especially if you have larger rims fitted or the F sport. Having said this, mine is going on almost 11 years, and I don't notice any creaks in the cabin. Probably also depends on whether is was bought from new, what year model it was, and how the previous owner used it (if bought used). I will say that I did seat in a Volvo the other day, and I do agree with your points in relation to that.
  2. No! You can still use your car. But you will need to use the metal key in the fob to lock and unlock. To start the car when the battery is dead, you need to hold the fob next to the stop/start button, then it will let you switch it on. Mind you, the car will be drivable but there will be all sorts of warnings, namely key not being detected, etc... It's dead easy to change the battery though, and you can switch off smart entry / remote start, etc from the dash, and buy yourself a faraday pouch for your keys.
  3. Hello gentlemen, As far as I am concerned the ct200h has not been exempt from congestion charge since 2017. This was also only true if you had bought a ct200h before 2013, all models after that were not exempt at all. As user Wharfhouse referenced the rules have and will change progressively as more drivers move to electric cars, this is expected as otherwise it would defeat the purpose of enforcing the congestion charge (inevitability of too many electric cars in central london causing congestion). Eventually (by 2025 again as Wharfhouse referrenced), everyone will have to pay the CC unless you have another exemption (such as being a blue badge holder).
  4. As you mentioned your CT has smart entry, I would think it is a model that also has GPS, you could use this to track the car without the need to fit another tracker. If you can't contact your locar Lexus dealer about this, or you got the car from somewhere else you could check these alternative solutions: https://famisafe.wondershare.com/track/how-to-track-a-car-with-gps-for-free.html
  5. Hi Paul, I have a 63 plate CT200h, bought from new at the time. I've had 3 services done on the car at the Lexus dealer. Never had any problems, except for a standard Toyota/Lexus recall for the oil canister replacement in November 2016. Had the car for over 3 years now, and I don't recall having the battery at 100%. It seems pretty close to 100% after a long downhill drive, but not quite. I hope you keep enjoying your CT! Regards. Eddie
  6. Hi Rob, If your car is new, I'm of the opinion that your mpg should improve slightly after the break in period. You've also had the car only for a month, so I'll assume that your driving habits may improve with time, especially as driving a petrol-hybrid is different than driving a diesel. Eco mode does help a lot with mpg, as you have to step on the accelerator a bit harder in order to accelerate, which in turn may keep you in EV mode most of the time. Sport mode is fun, but it's really bad on mpg, and it doesn't realistically let you get home any faster.
  7. Hi KCRL, from my experience during winter the mpgs are always lower than in other seasons, especially if you use the aircon and other accessories. I also do very short trips, and I have become aware that it seems impossible to get anywhere near the advertised figures. Right now it sits at ~39 mpg, with trips mostly around town and I barely do more than 6k miles a year. I doubt you can increase mpg unless you find routes that don't make you stop as often. The only trips I ever get close to 60 mpg are the ones to Heathrow.
  8. I travel during the Summer every year for about the same time. My car is a 2013, 63 plate, CT Luxury model and I've never had any problem starting it after 2 months. I think your trip home from heathrow will also be enough to recharge the battery if any charge is lost during that time. Regards.
  9. Jd14 I drive a 2013 luxury model, and I have not found this a problem. My model of the car came with a little scrolling button to the right of the steering wheel in which you can adjust the headlights. I have found this to be very effective, and if anything the intensity of the headlight beams have been as good or better than many of the cars I have driven. No visibility issues at night whatsoever. Perhaps you should talk to your dealer about this...
  10. Mine is due in for service in the next couple of weeks. Wonder which courtesy car model they'll give me. It is the same model as yours, after one year I'm still very happy with it. Hope it keeps that way. Thanks for letting us know of your experience with the new 2014 model.
  11. I was just about to post the same link. KDS is right again. And the 15" should prove even more comfortable too.
  12. Like KDS mentions above if it's a 2014 facelift model, then you may find it quite a comfortable ride. They've changed the MacPherson strut and double wishbone rear configurations to allow for a lighter ride. Personally I have been driving a 2013 CT Luxury version for the past year, bought new, and find it adequate. Potholed UK B roads can be a problem though, but I avoid when possible. 16s will be a good choice for comfort as pointed out by KDS, and for fuel economy as well, if in comparison to 17s.
