  1. Went to the Hayes Motor museum in Yeovil on holiday and to a classic car show in cheshire but the only Lexus cars were in the car park. I know the marque is not very old so may not be classic yet but I was wondering if there are any in museums around the country. Surely the first LS deserves a place in history.

It would also be good if Lexus UK could publish when their LFA is going to appear at car shows.

  2. Hi, Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your new toy.

Don't know about the album artwork. I don't have the lexus satnav.

The voice control I think is for the hands free phone and phone book. You have to program the contacts then I think you can make a call by speaking the name of the contact. Not too sure, as I don't use this and it may be different on your model.

Someone else will be able to help i'm sure.

  3. I looked at the Auris estate. (I was coming from an Accord Estate) but when I went into the Toyota dealer I was totally put off by the attitude of the salesperson and did not feel welcome.

I think the CT and the Accord are very similar cars except in size. My compromise was the small boot. The benefit, free road tax (the accord was £475) and 60 mpg instead of 28. Oh and I saved £30 in the insurance too.

The real test will be next week when we try and go on holiday; to see if we can get everything in the boot of the CT.

  4. This is what I got after my test drive of a CT back in 2012. The test drive consisted of a bit of motorway and my journey to work. I think the way I drive which is very sedately and my journey to work which is all 30-40mph limits really suits the Hybrid system. To say I was impressed is an understatement

That's very impressive. Especially for a new engine. Did you buy it?

  5. I always revers in to a parking space so you can drive straight out. This means I am reversing into a closed space where people are unlikely to walk and can then drive out forward being able to see people and can wait for them to move out the way before moving off. However if they are stood in your way chatting then a short horn toot may be the only answer unless you get out and ask them to move on. Or you could turn the radio up.

  6. Mpg figure must be for at least half a tank. Otherwise you could reset it and drive down hill in ev mode and get 99 mpg. Which is not representative.

Perhaps Lexus could send anyone who managed to get over 65 mpg a free pen and anyone over 78.5 (the official figure) a free car.

Please remember to drive safely. Do not sacrifice safety for the sake of economy.

  7. Haven't even done 1000 miles in mine yet but yesterday while it was hot I went petrol station put £20 in and all of a sudden was hitting 60+ mpg???? Admittedly i did start using normal mode rather than eco. I find eco i have to put my foot down more as there's just no power. Highest i got was 67mpg. Was mainly town driving with abit of dual carriageways. I also have found that ev kicks in sometimes when doing nearly 40mph. Very impressed as the car hasn't even been "run it" yet

I can get 99.9 mpg briefly if I use EV mode out of the petrol station and coast down the hill!

60+ is good for a new car, mine was strugling to get into the 50's when it was new, however it was November to March, hence the reason for this post. It will be interesting to see what it drops to in the winter.

Has anyone tried using super unleaded? Does this make a difference? however I suspect it won't be a big enough difference to cover the extra 6p per litre cost.

  8. Finally got 61.2 on that tank according to the on board computer or 57.5 according to Fuelly. Very happy at halving my fuel costs from previous car. Mostly in normal mode with the air con on. Battery works better when it is warm.

How have you changed your driving style for a hybrid?

  9. Is it really worth getting it fixed every time? Don't get me wrong if this happened to my new car I would be upset but if it costs £200 each time, presumably not on your insurance, it could get very expensive trying to keep the car in perfect condition.

When the car has been repaired is it as good as new with a perfect colour match? Does it affect the value of the car come trade in time? It's the same with the alloys. Is it worth repairing them every time they get curbed?

My wife's jazz has loads of dings in the door from car parks and the odd scratch from the kids bikes. If I got this repaired every time it would cost a fortune. Will you get the cost of repair back at trade in time?

Just wondering if it's worth the hassle.

    Paul

  10. I think it is a dealer programmable option. If you want it enabled the dealer can do it for you. Before you do think about if you really want this feature. I have heard cases when people come back to their cars to find the windows open after accidentally pressing the button in their pockets.
