  1. Not had any problem with my 430..but hey only had a few months but everything is going great.460 is a lovely car I very much like her rear
  2. Is he...er that would explain the flirtatious emails. Thanks for that.Thats a relief..
  3. Oem mats turned up today, ordered black for the winter, still have the originals which I will use for the summer.Got them from Lexus Birmingham, really helpful guy called Jo Mitchell who helped me and had them delivered to my address.
  4. Very keen on the vaistech for the 430..has anyone fitted one on here and what we're the results?
  5. That's why I got rid of my BMW, fed up with the idrive telling me to get this done, get that done.License to print money.Let me tell you the Lexus is fantastic, but you know that don't you.
  6. Nothing has gone wrong on mine, I have flaking wheels which will be sorted out.If you think of it logically the amount of development that went into the 400 was obviously good for the 430..It was after all its successor, there are merits in both cars I'm satisfied with mine as it sounds like most of you are. Both really good cars, when I bought mine the guy said smart people who know about cars buy a Lexus, the rest buy Mercs and Beemers. Its so nice to be affiliated with smart folk.
  7. Why are the 430 wheels so poor..mine are flaking badly..do you guys recommend refurbish or new wheels?
  8. I notice on ebay there is an xcarlink device that seems to do a similar job..not entirely sure it's the same. Thanks for the reply buddy.
  9. I came from a BMW audio system and let me tell you the Mark Levinson is just awesome.I love it.Interesting to read everyone's comments, I recently bought a 430 and the car had such provenance with service history it's ridiculous.10 service stamps by Lexus every mot and a wad of bills amassing 10k.So as some have stated if these cars are well looked after they will look after you.As I have stated on another post I have booked mine into the paint shop to make it as good as as I can, the point I'm making as long as the history is good cosmetics can easily be sorted out.The Ls is a beautiful ride..but don't get taken for a ride without the necessary history.
  10. You should clay before mopping, mopping is another word for polishing and the removal of swirl marks..by claying first you will not damage the heads of your polisher. Any decent detailer will do this first. Also mopping could be used to buff the paintwork to give it a lustre..bring the paint alive by removing some of it depending on the coarseness of the product.
  11. Claying doesn't necessarily remove tar spots, Autoglym do a tar remover liquid that works great. Its mainly for the removal of deposits that have built up steadily on the paintwork over months or maybe years. If a car is washed correctly and regularly and polished and waxed you should only have to do this maybe once a year even then you would be able to tell by just running your hands over the bodywork.A well clayed car will feel as smooth as silk. Some tar deposits can be really difficult to remove with clay, can be done but the tar remover liquid is quicker, that's what I've found. In any case after doing all this I have booked her into the paint shop in September for some tlc which no polishing or claying will rectify.Once done she should be impeccable.
  12. Same here mate, in fact I pay the guys at the local garage to do hers..wont let them near mine lol
  13. Just got the car so I'm doing all this now before the winter comes..Each to there own..hey if I could find someone to do it..I'd still do it..I really enjoy it.Had a day off work..Mrs was working so why not.
  14. It purely works with a detailing spray, you saturate the car in the spray and the clay works by collecting the contaminates which have gradually built up on the bodywork. It gently removes all of this leaving it clean and smooth..you just gently rub on top of the paint. The results are very good, smooth as glass.I use the Maguires clay..will work on any car paint.
  15. Did the whole damn street man..All the cars look great.Didnt have breakfast..its just raw energy.
  16. Mike you'd be surprised how quickly it can be done, when I say quick it took me five hours I guess.
  17. I'm always at it, just love doing it, I had all the mudflaps off today, number plates.Keeps me as sane from the kids.
