Hello tks for quick reply as per halfords paint mixing computer would seem that Halfords use the US colour descriptions lexus colour code 212 is obsidian black non metallic lexus colour code 214 is opal black metallic i have got code 212 mixed up as per my VIN thanks again for confirming much appreciated

I also found following from Lexus UK site There is a metallic black alternative to the non-metallic Velvet Black / Obsidian that bears the 212 color everywhere I go I am being told colour code 212 is obsidian black and halfords confirm its a non metallic mix as only one straight colour, so surely this must be ok

My vin number has a colour code of 212 my car documents say car is velvet black halfords mixing computer states colour code for 212 is obsidian black I noticed a post from a Lexus dealer in 2013 state following Velvet black is a non metallic paint code 212 obsidian black is metallic paint code 214 Halfords say the obsidian black code 212 is a straight black mix non metallic So does anyone really know what colour code 212 is in UK i am also sure when halfords guy checked code 214 it was completely different Thanks Jim

  7. Hi everyone Very new to forum, so apologies if I'm opening up a new topic So took ownership of CT200h F-Sport in velvet black, what a great looking car.... Wanted confirmation that velvet black is paint code 212, I see code 202 flying around also Additionally wanted to know the colour code for the dark grey F-Sport alloys Sales rep said there wasn't a code and the paint got made up to match ? I saw on a US website that Nebula Grey was a good match? Thanks
