Hi, I have a simliar issue, I need an engine. did you ever find an engine? if so, where from please?

HI, I have a 2006 is220d with 175,000. Its has 3 head gasket replacements now in the last 18months. We (my garage) decided to replace the engine, which was attempted this week. The replacement engine is also a lemon and has been taken back out. Do any of you guys know where is a good place to buy engines (not recons) the breakers we tried were varying in price, but preferably after an engine from a rear end shunt as an example. Really struggling & wondered if someone else had used somewhere good please? Jamie

Bit more info on this. The matrix is sending heat but only the drivers side is blowing warm, all passengers vents cold. Any ideas which vents behind the dash maybe stuck?

Hi, I am having issues with my 220d (06) when either front door is closed anything more than gently. The car complains about loss of contact with the key. It eventually clears. However I have noticed tonight when locking the car with the door button. The car will re open its self 30 seconds later. Both keys to the same. Batteries are good in both keys.

Hi, My 220d has squeling breaks. Pads & discs are all good. No evidence of scoring or stuck stones but the breaks squele when coming to a standstill. Unless I have driven in huge amounts of rain. Any ideas please?

Thanks steve. The turbo pickup is very inconsistent. Going to pull it out & clean it anyway :)

Hi, My 06 plate 220d in ternary heaters are intermittently warm (rarley) and the windscreen mists up in the rain Un less ac is on (cold as heater rarley works) are these connected? How do I fix? (Engine has been rebuilt cause of head gasket & water pump replaced too)

Hi, 1st post for me, for all you guys have helped me fix loads of things. Thank you 1st question, u have a sticky egr valvue (dropping "out of range") putting the car into limp mode. I have read you can blank off or bypass the valVue, has any one done this? Which is best to and won't cause the ecu to have a hissy fit. Also does it actually improve the mpg & pickup of the car?
