  1. thankyou for your reply it's interesting that my last car seemed to be accurate but i do wonder as this system seems to be triggered by the camera seeing the roadsign itself how it can trigger a warning if you go over that speed limit if it cant actually register a speed limit as it can't see a sign as is the case in my original post. i happen to be going into the dealership tomorrow to have a front dash cam fitted as my own dash can i can't use because they have moved the position of the cigarette lighter socket in the new model.i will ask them about the RSA and see what they say.
  2. i previously owned a UX250h fsport and have recently changed to the UX250h fsport design. my question is about the sat nav and road sign assist.the handbook says:- 'the RSA system recognises specific road signs using the front camera and/or navigation system ,when speed limit information is available, to provide information to the driver via the display'. i noticed on my last car that the speed limit was displayed regardless of where you were.e.g when coming out of the dealership onto the main road it flashed the speed limit even when there wasn't a sign nearby for the camera to pick up. on this car it only shows when there is a sign for it to see. is this unique to this model or is there something missing in the sat nav settings ?
  3. one other thing to consider about the RX and insurance is that along with the CT they are a target for cat thefts and as the price would be over £1,000 to fit another they could be back unless you were to take other forms of prevention e.g a catloc, but how many would think of fitting one from new ( the car) i attended 2 times to the same vehicle after the cat had been stolen.
  4. thankyou for your reply your correct it goes off after starting
  5. yes you could be right it doesn't mention in the handbook that this will happen ( the flashing light) that's why i thought there might be a fault. as bezzer says his does just the same so obviously it is normal. thanks for your reply
  6. well if yours is the same obviously there is'nt a fault with mine thanks for that
  7. if you mean soonever it's switched off completely that is what mine is doing. i used the key to get into the car to have a look in the manual and sat there for about 15 mins reading it and all this time the light was flashing. never noticed if this happened with my previous ux but just seems different to other makes which normally flashes when the alarm is armed.
  8. this is my second UX i've just bought its the design version new. there are a few things different in this model compared to the last one i had fsport. one thing i can't get my head round is the alarm indicator on the lower dash panel above one of the heater switches. it flashes even when it's not set.i.e the doors locked. sat in the car with the doors unlocked it's constantly flashing. i've contacted the dealership and told them the problem and i dont think the guy has grasped what i'm saying. he says the alarm will be on regardless of what the light says. ive written back saying surely it shouldn't be flashing if i'm sat in the car with the doors unlocked. ive had no reply. has anybody got one of these models that can confirm the state of the alarm indicator with the doors unlocked. many thanks
  9. hi thanks for your reply yes your right it will be a design. wanted to get the fsport itself but to add the extras was going to take me into the higher RFL band which is unreasonable in my eyes £500 extra for 5 years is no joke. i also have seen the aftermarket systems you are talking about but i assumed, rightly or wrongly, that getting the bigger screen might just have been plug and play apart from the usual canbus setiings.years ago you used to pay extra to have a certain thing, on a new car that is,fitted by lexus individually like the upgrade sound sytem but now if you want an extra one thing you have to have others as well i.e a sunroof. i can't see the point on one of those if you've got aircon. anyhow will leave it there thanks again for your reply
  10. quick question plz. are there any garages that work on retro fits for lexus cars other than the main dealers who don't do retro fits. funny that as they advertise fitting dash cams ? want to update to a 12" touch screen instead of the standard 8" for my model. its not available in the model i have chosen.
  11. my choice was the same as yours but after visiting the dealership i've decided the FSPORT Design is the best option for me. might i suggest you try and have another think about the solid paint as i was shown a car that was only 2 years old in that finish and it was not in a good condition.
  12. you talked about " my world" well i've just been to the dealership and got well over £3,000 off a factory order, not on pcp either, so is "my world" that bad.
  13. you have got my point about the price including the solid colour and also the fact you have to pay extra for the paint i want but for some reason you seem to be missing my last point. so what you are saying its fine to pay for something you havn't got ?i.e the solid colour which is included in the original price. if there was some discount off the original price to allow for the fact you aren't getting something you paid for then fine. you are paying for a paint finish you don't want on top of the extra for the paint you do want. would you pay for someone to respray your car in a colour you don't want and then pay again to have it painted in a colour you do want. i have an appointment with the dealership later today i will be asking the same question to them. i had a situation with another brand of high end car and complained about it and things were put right which included reverting back to pre recall. people had the same attitude as you but it ended up with a recall by the manufacturer to other people who owned the same vehicle to reverse the recall. so the motto is if you dont ask you dont get. i am being perfectly serious and i didnt ask for your sarcasm !
  14. that is not my point. the price is originally including either of the 2 solid colours i am paying extra for the colour i want i dont want the colour already paid for in the price so in effect i'm paying for a paint finish i dont want.
  15. i'm thinking of changing my UX for the new model FSPORT design but i have noticed something with the online configurator that i don't understand, and i know someone on here can explain it to me. so here goes. the price for a standard UX FSPORT design is shown on there as being £36,950 which includes either red or black solid paint. now i want azure blue which is shown as being an extra £920 which gives a total of £37,870. my question is that in the original price with the original paint there must be a cost included in painting it that colour which is included in the price of £36.950 surely. as i have chosen a different colour there should be a reduction in the original price before the £920 is added on or are they saying the cost of painting it blue is more than £920 upto the price of painting it the standard price ? sort of upto £1.500 - £2,000. hope i've explained that ok.
  16. can i just say i have been using a jump pack but the problem is that once you put it on the alarm goes off and will not stop until there is a certain amount of charge to be able to press the lock and unlock button for the doors. that is owing to the fact that i have to use the emergency key to open the doors in the first place. this takes time of course and i don't think the neighbours would appreciate me doing that too often.i have decided to go for the bm2 which is on offer at £20. worth a go.
  17. just want to reply to say.the reason i asked the question in the first place as having not come across this situation before i was thinking somebody may have come across this problem before and maybe had a solution like fitting a larger capacity battery or some other shortcut. that is the idea of a forum to share experiences which i have found very useful on other forums when i have owned different makes of car.thankyou to all those that have come up with sensible suggestions. will leave it there.no more replies.
  18. thanks for your reply but i have recently retired and as the car was used daily before this point i had never come across this situation before. as for changing my car just because i am not using it as much as i did before. having only just finished paying for it and not in the position to afford to change it,i wont be changing it. having worked for the AA for 10 years before retiring i have not come across this situation before either. this is the reason i was asking advice.
  19. were you born being sarcastic or is it something you have grown into. i wouldn't be asking if i had looked and couldn't find it ! also i have only recently retired so not come across this situation before as the car was used regularly. is that ok with you. don't bother replying as your replies are meaningless to my question.
  20. thanks for your reply i have owned 3 lexus's in the past this being the fourth and this is the first time i have heard of and been told about this lexus recommendation. doing what they suggest would be a bit difficult for me for reasons i won't go into, but at least i know now.
  21. i have a 2021 UX 250H fsport with very low mileage for the year. owing to the fact on occasions my car stands for a while unused and i have to use a boost pack to start it. i have a question about the slave battery. i know where its located in the car and the procedure for using a boost pack to start it via the adapter in the fuse box. my question is how do i know the slave battery is being charged from the engine once the car is started and also the state of the battery at any one time, there is no way of telling, as when driving the pictograph shows when the hybrid battery is charging but not the slave battery. i need to point out that i am unable to park my car near to my front door to allow trickle charging and to remove and reconnect the slave would be a right pain.
  22. funnily enough i am about to change from a CT to a UX. i have a catloc fitted, from new, to the CT. i actually spoke to the manufacturers of catloc, yesterday, about the same thing you are asking and they said they have had no reports of thefts on the UX and in fact they don't make one to fit the UX currently. personally i would think the fact they don't make one for that model gives you some reassurance.
  23. ok but thanks for the link anyway.
  24. many thanks. would there be any room behind the glovebox for lets say another unit to have been installed there ?about the size of 2 fag packets, side by side. i don't want to spend time removing it if this is not the case ?
