  1. Thank you both for your advice. Having also spoken to my Lexus-trained independent garage, it seems the part is readily available, but it was just too much for the tyre fitter to do. It'll be changed at the next service if my mechanic agrees that it's necessary. Thanks again
  2. Your wisdom, please...! The car (IS250SE, 2005, FWD, RHD) has recently benefited from four wheel alignment, and feels much better for it. However, the mechanic pointed out that grease is leaking from the ball joint at the end of the track rod (tie rod if you prefer). Now for the problem. His parts supplier lists the track rod but not the component behind the wheel that actually has the ball joint attached. So the questions are: What is this part called (or, what is the part number), and Is it available from anywhere other than Lexus (unless the dealer price is a bargain)? Many thanks in advance for your help.
  3. I felt the same, and still do when swapping from my VW. In fact, I prefer it since it makes it easier to modulate the braking force applied. I think most modern cars are over-assisted.
  4. Hi all I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post. I've got a 2005 (55 plate) IS250 Multimedia (Mark Levinson). It's got cream leather, heated/cooled seats, reversing camera, sat nav and a million other things. I was wondering how much of this was standard, and how much options. I remember the first Lexus being sold here in the UK with a proud boast that the only option was the choice of colour! Can anyone assist with the standard specification? Would anyone know what the list price was in late 2005/ early 2006? Many thanks SRC-IS PS - my favourite post on any forum, ever: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/95316-bit-of-a-disaster/
  5. I lurked on here as a guest before buying my IS250. A google search was my route here.
