  1. Having been a victim of this, I still have the car. Removing the h off the rear badge is probably the best deterrent, wish I'd have done earlier. Now my car has a universal Cat, I'm hoping any experienced Cat thief will recognise its not what they are looking for and leave alone.... (hopefully).
  2. Plate was missing. They drove off with lights out. Today at Mr Exhaust they had already repaired another Rx400h and a CR-V, and other CR-V arrived whilst I was waiting. All same thing. Service guy tells me 7 done in car park across the road, 5 at the local Hospital, all in a week. He estimates 16000 this year from orders. The CR-V lady didn't report to the police so numbers will certainly be higher than reported.
  3. my RX400h had the Cat stolen last night at around 12:30 am from the KT20 area. 3 lads in an Audi A4 with full tinted windows, the colour was black, might have been a matt black. Brazen as you like. Parked right across my driveway. I heard a screeching noise like a slipping fan belt, looked out the window and realised what was going on, shouted at them but they just looked up and carried on. By the time I was dressed and downstairs with my bat they'd took it and gone. Police were good, arrived in around 10 mins, said they had 3 patrols arriving from 3 directions, but nothing. Got a feeling the thieves would have headed towards Sutton so Met Police rather than Surrey - don't know if they communicate.... booked into Mr Exhaust for today for universal cat £400. Mr Exhaust tells me another is also booked in for today and they are doing loads of them.. If there is so many happening its surely hight on the radar for the Police??
  4. The car is a 2007 RX400h. I would have believed front sensors if I hadn't read they get disabled at speed. The car was beeping at 80+mph on the motorway.. Anyone know how to disconnect the front sensors? I actually thought they were disconnected as in 3 years of owning the car I have never once heard them beep, and I park in some real tight spaces..
  5. Recently, after a 4 hour journey, as I pulled up to a stop the RX started beeping at me loudly. The beeping is coming from the passenger dash area (UK car). This continued until you turned the ignition off. Ignition back on the beeping resumes. The car was in park and not moving. I disconnected the seats, tried the seatbelts warning disable but still the same. I couldn't find anything wrong so decided to see if the car would move, as I reversed the beeping stopped, so I drove forward and the beeping started... Ah! must be the front parking sensors - though in 3 years I have never heard them. But then whilst driving on the return journey the car started beeping again intermittently, it was happening really regularly and properly irritating. As I thought it was the front sensors I figured it might be road spray off cars in front, but then I read the front sensors disable at 10kph + so it cannot be that.. I have put a OBD code reader on and there are no errors. Has anyone experienced this before, any ideas what it might be?
  6. My 1st post.. apologies for dragging up an older thread. There is a 200k miler on eBay at the mo, not that I'm considering, but it shows they can/do get there. Doesn't mention if the car is entirely original though. I too am considering a higher miler, just under 100k miles, around a 07/08 plate, the prices seem to be a little more on par the lower end SUV market rather than the premium brands.... there are not many alternatives, SUV, auto - decent mpg... the mrs was getting very low 20's in a CRV auto.
