  1. how much you get on cruise control at 60mph motorway without towing?
  2. it could be better I think I get 40MPG highway but of course just car itself 60mph cruise what was speed for you?

Just noticed that if I accelerate RX400H wants to pull right... otherwise seems it keep road normally If I hold my steering wheel normally I hardly can notice it but I if I release it is noticeable, so this pull is minimal and even not noticeable if I keep steering wheel normally with both hands... Anyway it indicates some problem which can become maybe even bigger in future, what would be possible causes? Front tires are different brands and thread in right seems little bit less maybe 1-2mm I think it could be possible cause and change them anyway soon, but what else could be wrong in worst case scenario?
  5. here are my data on RX400h motorway 60mph with some small stops in city was getting 40MPH on other trip 42MPG on other trip with lot of hill driving very slow ~1.5H in hills total distance 125miles then was 35MPG one more trip was driving country roads pulse driving average 40mph then got even 50MPG also with some very slow hill driving. So far with 400H I get even better as manufacturer claimed results. Obviously best results you can get with pulse driving with average speed 40MPH and from time to time use EV mode with cruise control at 40MPH that's why in city I can get same or better MPG as on highway
  6. ok so now I bought 2005 lexus rx 400H overall first impressions are good I like car much better as GS450H 1. There is no noises and rattles from dash 2. Much more comfortable 3. Braking is smooth and did not noticed any shifts from regenerative braking to normal. 4. I can't feel much how engine switching on sometimes feel little bit but it's same like with GS 5. Fuel economy and how hybrid works... It's much better as GS450H first maybe because RX has 2 generators when charging battery, so battery seems charging faster, it's much more easy to drive electric mode only with GS I had to be extremely careful with accelerator pedal to get it in electric mode, when battery get to 2 purple bars GS engine started to work all time except when release accelerator in RX that's not a case it can drive only electric also with 2 purple bars, eventually of course engine kicks in if driving too much electric, so what it translates to real numbers: in city with warmed up engine ~5mile distance I got 40mpg in the middle was even little bit traffic jam... so average city driving of course I tried my max to get this number pulse driving then when possible drive only electric mode get to 30mph then release accelerator then lightly push to drive only electric etc. Then the best fuel economy was 8 mile distance with 56MPG also have to note that battery was charged to 6bars from highway driving and when stopped it was 3 bars. With GS it would be almost impossible to get these numbers.... When push hard it goes hard as well so performance is also good...
  7. yes car stayed some time and he told something that battery gone flat, BTW I looked other lexus 2 of them and these also had some error codes similar with VSC and airbags, although all worked fine.
  8. car is looked after serviced all time at mine dealer and last time just 2000 miles ago it did not throw codes on test drive these were before I cleared them and then did test drive again and then all was clear so codes did not reappeared. It was 65000km since last time DTCS were cleared so maybe it's just sometimes low battery etc and these codes appeared

Hi, I consider to buy RX400h but there were some error codes, 1 abs vsc c1241 means low or high supply voltage 2. tilt @ telescopic b2602 key unlock warning switch b2620 ecu power source circuit 3 gateway b1281 airbag ecu communication stop first 2 were current 3 historical I cleared codes went for some small test drive and then all was clear. Just thinking if that is something serious or not??? On dash no error messages and everything seems to work fine.
  10. ok it should be so, in GS if it was staying then also I could feel little bit how engine start but in driving almost no then it's similar like RX.
  11. 15K miles for 2006 seems suspicious it could be also that clock was turned back before every service and MOT or something happened to car and it stayed long time and that also not good. So 2009 GS is good option with 77K miles what is price???
  12. Great so you don't feel how engine turns on when accelerating or turn off when braking? That's how it was with GS, how is dashboard is it quit and solid?

I read some user reviews and some says that they can feel hard when engine stop working or switch on when driving... also braking not very smooth there is some shift from regenerative braking to disc braking. Is that true? How it's comparing to GS450h 2006? With GS450H everything was very smooth braking as well I could only see in screen that engine turning on or off but almost could not feel it. Only when standing then if engine started to run I could feel little bit how it started. How is comfort how it feels over bumps GS450H was too hard... Is there some problems with plastic dash does it make some stupid noises or is it quit? GS450H made some weird noises all times from dash :( especially when cold 2 things drive me crazy some stupid sounds from dash and hard driving that's why i sold GS450H What are typical problems with RX400H? I read some coolant leaks what happens in that case car stops completely or it runs some time then?
  14. some times it was not increasing RPM at all sometimes increased RPM slightly, it's possible also override hybrid system just have to push accelerator when in P and engine start if it was in hybrid electric mode at that time.

  16. today went again for test drive with cold engine it started immediately but did not charged battery when was in P so not good i think when on street it seems worked fine again most time at traffic lights engine was off even though battery only 2 bars (usually engine then started) at supermarket parking battery was again 2 bars after some driving in electric mode and then engine started and charged battery also in Parking mode. So what I don't like now is that it does not start charge battery from cold. I put car with techstream soft in maintenance mode (from hybrid section) where it was supposed narrow down all parameters to trigger any error faster, in this mode check VSC appeared and when braked there was noise from brakes and some vibration. Went off maintenance mode droved to HighWay for some test drive fuel economy with cruise control 55 MPH was 43MPG pretty good accelerated to 120MPH pretty good as well :D then stopped at parking for 20 minutes started to drive and seems there was some whining noise when engine started after that seems no additional noises.
  17. when I braked with gears petrol engine did not turned on but still I felt how car braked with gears, Not only screen went blank but also petrol engine did not started maybe generator start to have some mechanic problem like with starters when they go bad sometimes car cant start somtimes can. Genertor in this hybrid also start petrol engine right? maybe yes there is some software issue maybe my fault was that before 2 days I experimented with techstream tests perfomed battery charge test put it on then off maybe there were not right conditions for that test I remember then I turned on hybrid system in P engine was running but battery did not charged for some 20 seconds then it started to charge. Now in evening I again tested car switched on engine was running but did not charged battery (in P position) it was ~ 1 minute then it stopped and I started to drive in electric mode when was on street then all worked as it should initially engine worked all time because battery was only 2 bars and charged battery in P or D position then when battery was 4 bars electric mode again worked good. I think I have no point at this time go to dealer they will tell all is OK right? Because now there are no errors.

I wrote that code was P0A92 - (hybrid generator performance) I have also feeling it overheated becaue at time when it fail I went downhill and switched manualy gears down (at that time petrol engine was off) then stopped for some 10 min and then error was. When I got home car stayed like 40 min and then run normally. IS this pump expensive? Maybe I can perform some active test with techstream soft to make sure that is problem.

Hi I have lexus GS450H today got error Check hybrid system, it happened like this, I stopped started to drive then energy monitor went blank engine did not started it drive on electricity only I pressed accelerator hard enough and engine should started. I stopped, restarted hybrid system then engine started immediately (battery was 2 bars) then droved home 30 miles there was steep decent for some time battery went even to 7 bars so it charged but I expected to get it full it was ~20 mile down from 1.7KM to sea level, then when was in city noticed that hybrid did not worked as always engine all time worked even when stopped when started from complete stop also petrol engine worked, it stops only when I'm stopping releasing accelerator pedal and when car stop engine start to work again (battery was 5-6 bars at that time) I know there are charging cycles etc but no matter how long i droved it petrol engine worked all time (temperature was +16Celsius air condition off no heating etc) , for very short time when starting to drive sometimes also only electric motor only work but very short time like 10-15 seconds. Then after 10 min when I was home started car again now check hybrid warning disappeared I checked with computer I have techstream software and there was current and historical error P0A92 - hybrid generator performance I cleared that code also then test drived again and still petrol engine all time worked, now went home waited like 30-40 minutes went for test drive again this time everything was perfect petrol engine was shut down when droved in parking when accelerated gently then also it was off etc. So this time hybrid system worked perfectly fine. Problem probably still is and I dont want to make now any unnecessary trips if something like that happens one time it most likely happen again. So what do you think is there potentially big problem ? I now think about selling that car while it still running dont want repairs costing thousands or maybe there is not so big problem? Also want to ask if that was ok when I went downhill petrol engine obviously was off and I braked with gearbox by switching gears down I doubt its something wrong but still maybe it's not recommended to do so maybe that somehow overheated generator? Also when just returned home and car hybrid still badly worked when I switched hybrid on and engine not yet worked (it went on after 10-20 seconds) there was some ticking noise from bottom front? Is that normal? When just went for last test drive seems that noise was not so big but still was... Car has 110000 miles serviced in lexus dealer till 90000 miles last service was done in other garage at 100000 miles I bought it very recently droved only 500 miles. Waiting for your answers thanks

Hi, I just wondering is that normal that my 2006 gS450H not increasing engine RPM when in P or N accelerator pedal is like dead when driving all OK I have techstream software 2 errors are about solar sensor circuit thats it (did full health check). In live data it show accelerator position if I press more down it show accelerator postion change but no increase in RPM??? I tested other GS450H and then rpms increased somehow in P position. Also 2 days ago did MOT then also RPMS increased they tested emissions.
