  1. It’s a 300h I’m looking at. Lovely car. Thanks for the replies folks.
  2. Thanks for the advice. As far as the car is concerned would you recommend?
  3. Hi, I'm looking at a 2014 GS Luxury with 62,000 miles up. Looks very nice but any insight would be helpful. The Lexus dealer tells me there's no service book - 'It's all online'. Sounds odd to me. Any opinions? Thanks
  4. And here we are 4 years away from the brand and I'm looking for another RX450h! i like the look of the F-Sport but still wary of the water leak issues on the RX.
  5. GreyRX - My car was in and out of my local dealer for weeks before they discovered that the car had been in an accident that caused a fine crack (expertly concealed) in the rear offside corner. I kind of lost trust in the car and got nervous every time it rained so I got rid of it. Shame because mechanically it was great. My fourth and last Lexus unfortunately.
  6. I have an '09 RX 450h and the radio has been dodgy for some time - interference, etc. Now the system (standard not ML) has a mind of its own - won't turn on, won't turn off, won't switch between CD and radio (buttons unresponsive) and when it's on, the volume sometimes just increases spontaneously. Any ideas from anyone? My local dealer has quoted me £90 to have a look but I'm worried this could lead to a few days in the workshop and a hefty bill. Thanks in advance.
  7. Has anyone had experience of water coming into the a)engine bay or b)the boot area underneath the spare wheel? My car is an 09 RX 45Oh. I foolishly drove through a flooded road, about a foot deep and my electrics died a couple of days later. Lexus are telling me my problems are due to water coming in through the windscreen seal (which got to the junction box) AND via the body panel seals at the back (which collected under the spare wheel). Too much of a coincidence? Any ideas?
  8. Not very good at navigating this site so I'll re-post my problem. I have an RX450h, 09 plate, in very good condition apart from poor radio reception which could be part of a bigger electrical problem.

I don't have DAB, definitely, and all the stations on AM frequency suffer from distortion. FM, oddly, seems to be fine.

More worryingly, the main control panel (don't know what you call it) which accesses the nav, audio, ventilation controls, etc. has twice completely died. Dead screen apart from a frozen nav. After half an hour or so it comes back but something clearly is dodgy. Any ideas?

  9. I had a rubber one on a black 400 I previously owned and it looked fine. It's just that my 450 is silver so I thought s/steel might look better.
  10. Yeah, already looked and the one that fits my car is £503.76! Seriously, how can this be a fair price? I've zoomed in on the pic and can't see any diamonds!
  11. Hello all. I bought a very nice 2009 RX450 recently. It's in mint condition (apart from dodgy radio reception-see previous post) and I thought I'd buy a rear bumper protector. As it's a silver car I thought a stainless steel one would look better than a rubber one. My local dealer quoted me (wait for it) £419.72. Lexuspartsdirect are even pricier at £428.12! Outrageous prices for a bit of stainless steel no? There's a protector on Lexus eBay at £118.44 but I think this is for the facelifted 450 (it has a curved lip) which won't fit my car. Any suggestions before I have another look at the rubber version (£67.81 from my local dealer)? Thanks
  12. Thanks to all the responders. My car (a 2009 450h SE) doesn't have DAB fitted or indeed a Mark Levinson system which I've had on previous cars and miss. I'll get the local dealer to have a fiddle on the next service. Thanks to all
  13. Hi Nigel, I tried your recommendation, pushed the button till my finger ached but nothing happened unfortunately. The DAB on the button is in a smaller font for some reason. I wondered about that.
  14. I've recently moved from an IS 300 to an older (2009) RX 450h mainly because I prefer the higher seating position. The IS had DAB radio, the RX does not and the reception is poor. Anybody else had this? And does anyone know an inexpensive fix? Don't get me started on the mpg either....... I love it though!
