  1. Hi Does anyone know what the recomendation is for the LS430 cam belt, I believe that it is 10 years / 100,00 miles? Looks like I might have pushed the envelope a bit on my old LS400 at 13 years / 100,000 miles ! Scott
  2. Hi Well I explained to LV that it was a long life stainless steel replacement for the original back boxes, and we even managed to agree that it wouldn't affect the performance of the car. However it would be regarded by LV as a modification to the exhaust system hence the excess of £50.00 per year. Bit of a shame because as the new owner I just want the car to look and drive as good as it possibly can do, the back boxes are an obvious upgrade. Scott Scott
  3. Hi When I told my insurers (LV) that I was going to have stainless steel back boxes fitted to my 430 they quoted me an extra £50 a year on my premium! Hylomar exhaust repair putty is your friend........... Scott
  4. Hi How did you get on with installing this, and does it integrate well with the car. No interest in streaming music on bluetooth but the SD card bit appeals. Do the track listings come up on the display panel on the dashboard for instance, and what is the sound quality like? Cheers Scott
  5. Hi So my research leads me to the conclusion that there is only 1 front wheel hub assembly for the LS 430 which fits both sides of the car and is common across all continents. Wide range of prices from about £50 to £300 plus postage and duty. Rockauto site illustrates a good range. The noise gets worse on left handed bends and dissappears on right handers so guessing it is the passenger side bearing, this side being most likely to have hit a curb. Scott
  6. Hi Well one or the other is making a noise so thought it best to just do them both and be done with it. Scott
  7. Hi I got myself a 430 last Friday and I must say it is a lovely car, completely different to the 1993 MK2 400 that I had for 13 years. Can't speak for the build quality at the moment but nothing has fallen off yet ! Scrapped the 400 still going strong with about 8 months MOT still on it, unfortunately it just wasn't worth anything :-(
  8. Hi Does anyone know if the front wheel hubs sold in US are the correct ones for the UK models? I asked the vendor and they said Hello and thank you for your email. Unfortunately we can only confirm this part will fit left hand drive vehicles, the best way to find out if this part is correct for your vehicle would be to contact a local dealership with your VIN and dealer part number 4355050011. Fingers crossed that someone on the forum has been through this loop before. Cheers Scott Great car by the way, my first 430.
  9. Hi I have looked at the photos I took of the vehicle and all the shut lines look spot on, I am begining to think it is something to do with the trim itself maybe compressed a little at one end. The 430 is such a lovely car for the money and my LS400 is 21 years old now and due for retirement ! Scott
  10. Hi I have been looking at a 2005 LS430 and I noticed that the drivers door seemed to be a tiny bit lower than the rear door. There was a small but noticeable step, maybe 4mm, between the levels of the chrome trims at the bottom of the windows. On the passenger side of the car the chrome trim matched perfectly. I guess it is just wear and tear on the drivers door hinges, they are very heavy doors after all, but as the car has soft closing doors I wondered if it Is something that needs to be adjusted? ScottC
  11. Hi Needed a couple of tyres for my 1994 LS400, rang around the local dealers and found a company who could supply Dunlops D8Zs which are the original fitment tyres recommended by Lexus. I didn't think you could still get them but they assured me they were the genuine article so decided to treat the car and have all 4 tyres done. Had them fitted yesterday and they are Japanese manufactured D8Zs made in 2008. The company is T&H motorist centers Ltd Luton 01582 562272 Milton Keynes 01908 644490 Cheltenham 01242 579644 The tyres cost £399-79 fully fitted. May be of interest to someone. Cheers Scott

  13. Hi Just a quick question. The NGK website says my car needs BKR5EP11 plugs, my manual says BKR6EP11. Answers on a postcard please :-) Scott
  14. Hi I have seen these wheels on a 1991 car. Does anyone know if the 1993 model LS400 has larger brake calipers and if does will the Mazda wheels still fit? Scott
  15. I have Lexus service manuals for the 1990 US model and they show the washer motor just fed from a switch in the steering column, the 1990 model doesn't have the headlight washers which the '93 model has. If anyone can confirm that the windscreen washer and the headlamp washer use a common relay in the '93 model, and where it is :-) that would save me a bit of work, otherwise I might have 2 seperate faults. Scott
  16. Hi The windscreen washer on my 1993 LS400 has stopped working. I located the pump at the base of the washer bottle and tested it with a 12v battery and it works fine. The headlamp washer has also stopped working but I am not sure if this is related to the problem with the windscreen washer. The wipers work fine, wash/wipe operates the wipers but there is no water. The only fuse I can find any reference to is the 20A one for the wiper circuit and this is fine. Any ideas? Scott
