  1. Hi I have fault code C1391 abnormal leak in accumulator on my 2010 RX450h. I am looking for an independant in the Wigan/North West area with Techstream capabilty. And so far am drawing a blank. I have ordered the OEM part from UAE for £600 as Lexus UK want £2,900. I have Techstream but when I tried to do the power bleed on the pump a while back I couldnt get it to do it. I would either like the part changed and the bleeding carried out and linear displacment set, or I fit it and have someone carry out the bleeding process. Hopefully someone has some pointers, as MOT is due next month and the warning light stays out for about 15 minutes, so liable to fail. Thanks.
  2. Hi, have the C1391 code fault, and the brake booster pump cutting in about every 8 seconds. Fluid level is fine and no apparent leaks. So it looks like I have either a faulty booster pump or the actuator is gone. I can reset the code but it comes back up after a bit of use. Braking system is working, but it needs seeing to. Has anyone had this issue? And any checks to carry out to establish which item is at fault. Or other things to check? This is going to be expensive no doubt so I want to get it right and not just random part changing. Also part numbers for both item for RX450h 2010. The only parts that pop up online are used and I'm not going down that route. Thanks
  3. If its been traced to the same issue as mine, local garage changed the pump for £90 all in. Couple of hours or so labour really. I got the pump from YAM6 cheaper then Toyota. As I said its not a bumper off job, wheel and wheel arch cover and the lower covers off give the access required. Has it definitly been traced to the hybrid cooling pump? Miine never used to come on till over 40 minutes of driving, no matter what I was doing.
  4. So I finally got the bottom of this a few weeks ago but only managed to get out on a proper run to fully check that it was fixed to my satisfaction at the weekend. I had P2603 warning from Techstream, and was given access to repair instruction manual by a very helpful poster. Ran through all the checks listed, but it required the pump changing as all others were fine. Pump number is part no 35300-48011. Toyota wanted nearly £700 plus the VAT. There were a few second hand options but didnt really fancy that. Ordered one from YAM6 in southampton, very easy to deal with and great proactive service. The manual says you remove the whole bumper, you can however get just enough access with the wheel arch cover off and the lower covers with the wheel off. The pump itself is pretty straight forward to change. Drove to Scotland to visit my Mother (a week before were meant to) so had 3 hours there and back on seperate days and all fine. Many thanks to all who helped!
  5. Ok I finally found the code for the Check Hybrid, after getting hold of an older XP Laptop and loading Techstream. The fault on the hybrid is P2603 Oil Pump Control Circuit High. Are a current and historical fault. Just to give a little background on this, fault only comes up after approx 40 mins plus continuous driving. I changed the 12v battery but due to lockdown and travel restrictions could never drive out long enough to trigger it. That and hoping the new battery had cured it. Any pointers on where to look? Have literally just found the code.
  6. There 2 parts of the intake grills that flip down to reveal 2 Torx bolts with a T30 head. Unscrewed them and there is a coarse mesh/gauze behind but nothing else. Bit of fluff that blew off but nothing much on the one I quickly looked at. Found a video on clublexus.com showing Taiwanese garage taking the whole hydrid battery unit out and back in from start to finish. They dont touch the 3 fans which are located at the rear, and there doesnt appear to be anything other than the mesh/gauze on the intake grill, which looks similar in type to the filter bags arrangment on other models which are by the looks of it removable and cleanable.
  7. Hopefully, I had thought about the cooling fan. I've no dog so it aint that. I assume its a back seat out job as the batteries are under there, any pointers on access and location would be great. TVM
  8. No offence taken, I'll persevere but it'll be when I can get the time. Now the new battery is in and he warning gone there is no rush. Its more curiosity I want to scan for than anything.
  9. I tried both Windows 7 on an old work laptop, and Windows 10 on my PC for comparison but result was the same both times.
  10. Unfortunately the Techstream and lead I bought was useless, the software for the lead would not install, and Techstream didnt seem to want to work without registering. I think I could have found a way to get round the register, but without the lead software its pointless. I have asked for a refund. Due to the length of time this dragged on I fitted the battery and as before the warning to check hybrid system disappeared. Due to current restrictions I am unable to go on a long enough drive to see of the warning actiavtes again and shuts the hybrid down.
  11. Not sure but I'd like to now that as well, but the warning definitely disappears as the first time this happened I disconnected the battery and it disappeared for weeks till I went on a long enough drive to trigger it again. The second time it happened my OBD reader could not find a fault code but reset the warning. Hence why I wanted to look with Techstream.
  12. Hi Just an update I'm afraid. Newv12v battery is here sat waiting to be fitted. The Techstream ordered from fleabay was meant to be despatched last Monday, I have post office tracking but post office have still to recieve it. Have sent message to seller asking why its still not been sent, flaming things only in Manchester, I couldve walked there and got it. I wanted to scan to see if any fault codes were stored before I changed the battery as they will dispear as soon as I do that.
  13. Thanks for all the replies. Just to clarify the car is used daily. And does a 15 mile round trip commute every week day and I've worked all the way through covid so its never been sat. I "HOPE" as seems likley the 12v battery is just at the end of its life and throwing up the warning. The check hybrid warning has only ever came on when I've been driving for approx 40 minutes and over and never on my half hour commutes to work and the occrances were weeks apart when it has.
  14. Just a quick update. 12.2v ignition off, so battery is only at 60%. New battery ordered from Tayna. Am tempted to leave the fault on to see if techstream actually picks any codes up. Everything is running as it should be so not harming anything. Many thanks for all the assistance, only issue is once its fitted taking the car for a long enough drive in the current restrictions 😄
  15. Superb, I'll get one ordered from Fleabay, was being a bit overcautious on the Techstream, the fact my OB2 scanner got the codes on the oxygen sensor was making me think the fault only flags up as its happening and not storing the code, it resets the system and clears the fault though. I'll get the voltages swung through.
  16. Many thanks, I'm looking at Techstream cables and software on ebay but not sure if they are worth the gamble. Off to do some volatage checks. Maybe that will flag something up. But as I said the warning only appears on a run 40 minutes plus the rest of the time its fine. Battery is 11 years old with 125k on the clock so may be as well biting the bullet for £100 rather than chasing.
  17. Thanks for the reply, car is in regular use. I'm going to check voltage at lunch. The bit that is puzzling me is the only doing it around the 40 minute mark. And those being weeks apart.
  18. Hi All, have had this warning come on a couple of times now after about 40 minutes driving. The electric drive cuts out then and it runs on engnie only. Go back to it the next morning and both hybrid and engine run, with the warning still there. I scanned with with ebay scanner (which found an oxygen sensor fault a few years ago) and no codes show. It resets the warning though. My normal run to work is less than 30 minutes so have only had this a few times. 12v battery is the orginal Panasonic one, 2010 RX450h, have read a few threads saying that could be a cause. Any other checks or pointers greatly appreciated. Thanks
  19. Many thanks. Yes it'll be DIY. I haven't even had the chance to give it the once over and check its not loose/damp or anything. Had 5 minutes in work spare so plugged the OBD in and that came up. Reset and disappeared but came back on when I nipped out at lunch.
  20. Hi have fault code POO51 coming up. 2010 RX450h. Oxygen sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1. I believe this is the sensor closest to the front of the car. Does anyone know the part no? Having a few issues searching for it. Thanks
  21. I had this same issue and it turned out to be an oxygen sensor which is part of a recall. I never got any paperwork to say I had to arrange recall but knew of it, but called Lexus and it was booked in and done FOC on the recall. I dont have a warranty on the vehicle as its 2010 model. Simply plugged the reader in and it flagged the code and said oxygen sensor bank 2 if i remember correctly £30 well spent. As I'd have been paying to get repaired myself without the knowledge of the fault.
  22. Was it as long ago as that. I bought the car last September and checked then and it showed nothing on Lexus recall page you put your details on, don't know what made me check again, but did it again around June and it came up. As I said I was fobbed off by local dealer but am getting the recall done now after being put through by Lexus UK. Thanks for letting me know it was as long ago as that, something to ask next week when I drop the car off why the delay.
  23. It works fine on my iPhone 6. Can play music and skip tracks using steering controls, it also cuts off if you get an incoming call then starts track again where it stopped.
  24. One small update, when I initially called earlier in the year (must've been around June), local Lexus dealer said I had to wait for recall letter. This time I called the number on the Lexus site recall page, this was given when car was identified as subject of recall once all details were entered. I still haven't got the recall letter. But going through this way it may be logged by Lexus UK as they took my details before transferring me direct. It wasn't even questioned, it was booked straight in. So maybe at little pressure on dealer from Lexus UK this way, however its worked for me.
  25. Have now plugged in OBD reader. Fault code P0057 HO2S Bank 2 Sen 2 Heater Circuit Low. It indicates a problem with the oxygen sensor. Anyway RX450h is part of a recall for oxygen sensor fault. So hopefully this cures the light, booked in to get recall sensor change.
