  1. If you've had enough of the car you may want to slacken the wheel bolts and then advertise it in the for sale/ wanted section here. Calum
  2. You're still welcome to look at and ride in mine if you're in Aberdeen. They are not hyper mpg cars, though, they're luxo barges. Compared to the big BMW diesels they're a viable economic alternative but not when compared to a 1.4tdi. I get about 21mpg on solely town use, which I think is impressive for such a big car. Haven't been many long runs but 35 seems to be the common concensus. It's the refinement, smoothness and absolute techno joy that the car brings that is amazing. A group of GS450h owners is not going to convince you to buy something else as we're all convincing ourselves we've made the right decision! Cheers Calum
  3. It's the human condition though...not saying it's right but I have seen people spend many thousands to change cars to save a real world 6mpg. My opinion? It's a way of justifying that a new car is required. The decision is made already and cognitive dissonance requires the finding of reasons to support that decision. Calum
  4. I was looking at the 335 and 535 too, but the refinement and smoothness of the Lexus is amazing. I'm in Aberdeen if you're ever up here an want a look at one? Mine is a 2009 450. Cheers Calum
  5. Spotted this on lexus ebay store. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-LS-Full-Set-Textile-Floormats-09-12-Present-Ivory-PZ49CF135FBN-/252301473024?hash=item3abe56f500 Hope it's of use to someone. Calum
  6. Yes, that's right - combined output must be limited as motor is capable of over 150 and engine 290. So there's 100bhp held back from us! Probably just as well.... Did you see the hybrid brochure too? I think there's 3 or 4 GS ones and one specifically for the hybrid system. I'm loving the geekiness of this car - I'm an Engineer and see it as a technological wonder! Calum
  7. 2009 one wasn't much help to me - mine is apparently a base model but when I looked at the 2009 brochure it has everything the SE does apart from the Sat Nav and Levinson sound. Not sure if there was a re-baselining in the run up to 2010? From what I'd previously read the spec on later cars was less than the equivalently badged earlier ones, but mine seems to be a bit of an anomaly! I don't think Lexus let you add anything other than those items stated as 'optional'? Calum
  8. This should be the 2008 one: http://d3rvezpmgp265q.cloudfront.net/lexusone/lexgben/GS-Series-(9jun08)_tcm-3066-451001.pdf?_ga=1.108872962.1426329220.1456603550 You can select any others you may want on this page: http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/your-lexus/#PastLexusBrochures Calum
  9. Hi. I just brought home a GS 450h last week. I find the dunlop sp sport 2030 on the rear (sp sport 01 on front and sp sport 2030 on rear) struggle for grip quite a lot. I've been considering the continental sport contact 5. Theyre about 117 pounds each fitted (from blackcircles), have a C efficiency and A wet grip rating. Noise is rated at 70dB. Best dunlop alternative in my opinion is the Sportmaxx RT, which is also C, A and has noise rated at 68dB. Michelins seem expensive in comparison but if you have a costco membership worth calling them and asking what they can do. They often have a 20 or 25% off a set of 4, which makes the michelins very competitive. I found that the brochures on the lexus site were useful for the spec details, apart from the 2009 cars. There is a brochure for 2008, and one for 2010. Cheers Calum
