  1. From the owner's handbook for my RC ...

    "Seat heater timer control
To enable seat heater timer control, press and hold the driver and front passenger seat
heater switches at the same time when the vehicle is stopped until a buzzer sounds once.
If a seat heater is turned on while seat heater timer control is enabled, the intensity of the
seat heater will automatically change from Hi→Mid→Lo.
The timing of the change in seat heater intensity differs depending on the temperature
inside the cabin, etc. when the seat heater is operating.
To disable seat heater timer control, press and hold the driver and front passenger seat
heater switches at the same time until a buzzer sounds twice."

I wonder if it's the same for your model? No mention regarding having to switch off before being able to use again though?

  2. Your handbook usually lists the options. Generally winter tyres are narrower than standard tyres. Gives a higher load per square inch to give best grip.

That said I ran winter tyres of the same specification as the 'summer' tyres t no detriment in performance.

The biggest influence on tyre cost is when you choose to by them. Get them during the early summer is normally the cheapest.

I passed my driving test in June 1975 so that's more than 40 years ago and in all that time I've never bothered with 'winter' tyres. Does the need really exist in the UK?

I passed mine the year before you and I would agree, up until perhaps 10yrs ago. Seems tyres have become far more season specific in recent years? Certainly I remember driving in some quite heavy snow on 'normal' tyres back in the day without too much trouble (a couple of bags of sand in the boot, maybe! :) ) but now even with the slightest touch of frost progress can be iffy.. Perhaps the compounds now used are less tolerant to lower temperatures?

  4. I would be careful about reproducing such information on a public forum (unless of course you have prior written permission?)

  5. From the 2016 RC300h handbook

"Switching to EV drive mode when the gasoline engine is cold
If the hybrid system is started while the gasoline engine is cold, the gasoline engine will
start automatically after a short period of time in order to warm up. In this case, you will
become unable to switch to EV drive mode.
After the hybrid system has started and the “READY” indicator has illuminated, press the
EV drive mode switch before the gasoline engine starts to switch to EV drive mode."

Don't know if it's the same for your '15 IS300?
