  1. Just don't risk it. That said, I did the other day in my local flooded area as all access roads were flooded and I had to choose what I assessed as being the less deep of all the evils. My guess it was at about 6-8" deep as it was sloshing up to the bottom of the sill and judging by the low front it's not quite as low, thankfully, as I was concerned about. On top of that, cautiously crawling at less than 5mph helped minimise displacement/waves.

  2. Glad you are enjoying your car.

I tend to use Sport Mode when I need to zip away more quickly (junction etc) and occasionally when overtaking for a bit of extra oomph. I quite like the feel of how it tightens up the steering too but its nice to flick between Sports and Normal to appreciate their differences. I rarely use Eco as I find it unsafe if anything (being so unresponsive).

  3. Mine seemed to 'lose' the speed limit too. When I was next in for a service they did a reboot, so I gather, and it then reappeared and hasn't since gone again. You can go in to the Nav settings and turn this on or off, which I tried but it didn't sort it for me (prior to the reboot).

  4. I have an extended warranty on my 2014 CT and have just had an Essentials Service which includes the Hybrid check/test. Unlike previously, you now also continue to receive a stamp in the service book as normal too.

To me it's a no-brainer to have a service, with hybrid Battery check, at a main dealer. You could ask to have a minor service instead due to the reduced mileage? They may refuse to stamp the book in that case (although that would be unfair) but as it's no longer under warranty you can do what you want. The important thing is to have a full check over and oil change annually plus the hybrid Battery service for piece of mind (and each Battery service provides a 12 month extension to the Battery warranty up to 15 years). Maybe try negotiating a price based on what you want yo have done; there's no harm in asking.

  5. Welcome to the forum. I recall this now for my older IS250. Applying the parking brake is a prerequisite to playing a DVD and to prevent drivers playing, and watching, whilst moving. I understand there are ways to override this although that would invalidate insurance and be illegal/unsafe.

Hope you enjoy the car 😊

  6. The two cars are incomparable really. The Lexus is a hybrid, is smaller and will probably be cheaper to run. The Honda is larger, non hybrid and probably more expensive to run. Both are very reliable marques. The Lexus will probably hold its value more.

  7. Welcome!

Having owned a couple of Lexuses (Lexi?) then jumping to BMW (118i) and VW (Polo) I'd never go back to those again (both awfully unreliable). Like any forum, there are woes aplenty (go to the BMW ones and there are pages and pages of common issues) expressed but overall, from my experience, you can't beat Japanese for build quality and reliability. Lexus just seek to top it off with added luxury.

Hope the CT serves you well. Driving a self charging hybrid is an initially weird experience but gets more fun over time I find.

Premium Nav - Only way to spot the difference is whether there is a rotary dial or the mouse type. If its mouse type more than likely to have premium navigation. If the on/off buttons are whiter than the standard silver buttons its probably got Mark Levinson audio, but you cannot miss it as the ML badge cleary says underneath it. 2017 onwards are official facelift and audio wise you have the bigger screen. and minor exterior changes

Thanks. This one doesn't seem to have a shark fin aerial nor does it have the metallic finish, circular audio knobs (they appear to be black). It does have a mouse style infotainment selector though.

  10. Hi all and apologies if this has been discussed before. I'm a long time Lexus owner (currently own a CT) and looking to change to an IS300h. I've been looking at a couple of 2014 F Sports (one is a 14 and the other a 64 plate) and the two I have seen seen appear to have slightly different audio controls. Does anyone know if this was part of a minor change and, also, what should I expect across the car if there was a slight facelift then?

    Thanks! 🤥😋

Apologies for the daft emojis but my phone won't allow me to remove them!

  11. Good evening all.

Just taken my CT200h in for its annual service at local main dealership (who are excellent, BTW) and asked to have the tyres rotated to even-up wear a bit. The  ones wearing most were moved from the front to the rear.

Since then the road noise is more noticeable (almost like a wheel bearing issue and/or not properly balanced, like a thud, thud, thud sound ); gets louder the faster the car goes and extra noticeable in EV mode with windows down.

I've allowed the tyres to cool and all were a little over inflated so have adjusted that accordingly to see if it affected the noise, but it's no quieter.

All 4 are Yokohamas but there are two models of tyre (same model pair on each axle).  Not sure whether to leave as is and just get used to the new sound or go back to the dealership and have them returned to how they were.

Is this common to hear this? Any views would be much appreciated to save my sanity.  Thanks alot!
