  1. Shouls have stayed home but like a fool i came to work!!!!! Couldn't get up the drive to work (on a steep hill) so i parked it up by the side of the road with everyone else who has a rear wheel drive car!!!!!! Im really worried i will be going back to a smashed up Lex but hopefully not :crybaby: :shutit:

If its like this tomorrow i defo aint coming to work!!!!!

  2. Just to give this a quick bump - another car club i'm a member use a sweet pub called The Vine - literally 100m from J2 of the M3 - well easy for everyone to get to, big car park. The pub is nice inside as well. So if anyone is up for a quick meet drop a line here. Anytime Feb works for me.

You sure you mean J2 ? Because that's pretty near me, not down near the coast. Not that I'm complaining if there's a meeting there !

Sorry my bad (i blame the lack of coffee) - i meant junction 2 of the M27, as in outside of southampton.

Great pub that! i live like 10 minutes from it! Good easy meeting place also as its just off the motorway!

  3. You could try ukbackloads.com

You advertise the job you need doing and how much you are willing to pay and then interested couriers ring you up. Its good because you get a dedicated van so size and weight are not an issue and they all have insurance of about £5000 so that covers pretty much any part you need to send. It’s free to use and you can get stuff done really cheap, I got a full IS200 interior from Bristol to Manchester for £45 – impressive! It can take a few days to get it covered so you might struggle if you need something urgent, but on the whole I thought it was excellent.

Thanks for the reply but if you look at the date i posted this up it was nearly one and a half years ago i needed the courier! Needless to say i now have the bumper :whistling::lol:

  4. Me and my mates have been told by a policeman not to carry weapons in the car as you run the risk of getting into trouble with the law!

What they did say though is that you should have one of the LARGE metal maglights in the car, he said that they can also be used as a torch then as well! :whistling::lol:

  5. Sounds like you have the exact same problem as me!

My key fob is really tempremental, at the moment its not working at all!!!! replaced the car Battery a few months ago and i have also replaced the key fob Battery but still no joy! If you do find the problem then let me know and i will let you know if i find something.

I have ordered a new key so hopefully get that and reprogram that to see if it works?????

    Jason :P

  6. Is it a master key (i.e. does the security light in the dash extinghuish straight away when you insert the key) ? If so, get another key and programme it up and you can see if the problem is specific to one key, as well as meaning you're not totally stuffed if you lose that one key.

Think this may be the best thing for me to try, thanks guys looks like im after a new key then or an old one and a new blank. :D

  7. Oh, not sure then matey has it been sat for a while? battery/alternator might be on it's way out, if you have some jump leads and another car try riggin them together and see if it's the same when you rev the engine, might be way wide of the mark but may be worth checking.

thats the thing, I drive the car for 40+ miles a day so the Battery is getting constantly charged????? I have my car booked in with Toyota GT at the end of this month but wanted to get this fixed before hand!

Cold weather has probably taken it's toll on the battery by the sounds of things. Mine was the same before christmas, I got one from halfords with a 4 year warranty for £65 but that was at trade price. Full price was just short of £100

Only had the Battery for about 6-7 months! And you also got ripped off! i almost bought a Halfords one but tried Lexus in the end but thought they would be more, was just over £50 from Lexus and they gave me a FIVE year warranty!

    Jason :P

Could be the Alternator then matey if thats not working properly then the Battery has no chance, even more so at this time of year.

Have you only got 1 key? have you tried resetting it?

Unfortunately i only have the one key :crybaby: Car starts first time and gauge shows a steady 12-13 volts.

i can see this being one of those little problems that goes on and on! :crybaby:

  9. Hello everyone,

Something just aint right with my car!!!!!

Started yesterday afternoon when i went to get something out my car, pressed the button on the key fob to unlock the car and nothing happened ???? kept pressing it and about a minute later it finally opened, jsut thought it might be having a funny five minutes. Later went for a drive and after i got back the same thing??? ended up having to just lock the doors with the key.

On my lunch break today i went out and got a new Battery for the key fob, then it worked a couple of times...................

Got home from work about an hour ago and now its back to refusing to open???

Anybody have an idea's???? help much appreciated

  10. Been a bit of a developement with this now, sort of good and bad!

And rather than sell the lexus and get a more powerfull car i have decided to keep it

Just thought i would let you guys know im staying with LOC for a while yet! :winky:

    Jason :P

Good news that Jason :yahoo::yahoo: , the buggy is also looking ace.

but not so good about the £800 :crybaby:

You could always still sell me your number plate :lol:

Yes good news, means you can give me abuse about my sunroof for many years to come! :D

Im not too worried about the £800, my bro has ALOT of money sitting in his bank account and he has said that if my mate wants the money now then i can have a interest free loan and pay him off, but hopefully won't come to that. If i just save my ***** off for the next few months i should have enough to pay him off.

Im actually really excited about this project again now as i have nothing standing in my way and now the buggy can be built how it should have been built all along. Plan is to just get it running at the moment and get it road legal, then second it is road legal it will start getting changed!

Just ordered a DVD that shows possible engines to put into the mini including k series, vauxhall, honda and bike engines. Would love a bike engine so i have a sequential gearbox but don't want to have to try and create a reverse gear which could be a pain in the *****!

    watch this space!

  11. Been a bit of a developement with this now, sort of good and bad!

My mate has decided that he doesn't want to be involved in the buggy after it is road legal as he is more interested in the build rather than owning it! Needless to say i have to find £800 to soon buy him out and have full ownership. I am going to have to save hard over the next few months and have to buy the remaining parts needed myself to get it SVA'd.

The good part is that soon the buggy will be all mine! And rather than sell the lexus and get a more powerfull car i have decided to keep it and spend some money on the buggy to make a track/fast road car. Hopefully speaking to someone at the end of this month about possible engine options :shifty: lets just say Toyota, 1.3 and Turbo..............i think you get the idea :whistling: Won't be for a while yet but defo want to get it done.

Just thought i would let you guys know im staying with LOC for a while yet! :winky:

  12. Hi all,

Got my car booked in at the end of the month with Toyota GT for its service and want to get hold of as much of the parts i need before the service just so i have as much stuff as possible.

Started getting the usual bits, belts, spark plugs etc but what oil do i need??? Been searching on here for a bit but can't find what oil should be used for the gearbox and engine???

Anybody know what type or know where the data sheet is with it on? i swear i have seen it on here at some point?

    Thanks everyone,

    Jason :P

  13. any one got one with the prolex induction kit

    thanks

Not yet but hopefully soon??? I take it you have the prolex induction kit then???

    Jason :P

yeh i have the prolex induction kit but might just wait till i get a turbo kit and then get a engine cover

Turbo kit wouldn't change to much stuff on the top of the engine will it??? so should still fit after you have a turbo kit fitted, unless you are making a huge engine cover!

    Jason :P

  14. Just thought i wouls add my two pence to this :whistling:

I have dealt with Toyota GT a fair few times and swear by their work, they are a great group of guys and have always helped me and my bro out when we have needed.

My bro's car basically lives at their premisis as its constantly being changed and worked on! When my bro entered TOTB last year the guys drove over 500+ miles to support him and even spent some of the day working on his car and helping him improve his times!

@ Yeldarb, my car is booked in at the end of this month for a service and some work on the exhaust :shifty: So i may see your car there! Hopefully planning on staying there while my car is being done and doing a bit of a diet program on my bro's car!

    Jason :P
