  1. What was the outcome? Whilst washing my CT discovered above protection plate on rear of car some small rust spots. Car is coming up to 5 years old.
  2. Thanks Imran, not sure I’ll be going back to that dealer after the service managers reaction - what happened to the famous Lexus customer service? Happy now working as it should, obviously not fully tested before handing car back, otherwise problems would have been found. Service advised it is taking 3 months before they receive parts from Japan.
  3. An update…. Finally had CD/DVD player replaced with new one, only …. Parking sensors & DAB radio not working, DVD player is working OK! Lexus asked to see vehicle as they had not replaced a CD/DVD player before and didn’t know what issue was. Informed a calibration was required, which they were unaware of, this has hopefully corrected all issues. Please to have this replaced under extended warranty, although seems no one tested before initally collecting car. By his behaviour towards me it appears Service Manger has a problem with me, not what you expect from Lexus.
  4. Car alarm activated the other night, anyone know if the reason could be detected if plugged into Lexus computer?
  5. Received an email from current insurer that they are unable to provide a renewal quotation. Normally use a cash back site for quotes, again have received ''We don't insure this type of car'. Last year it was £229, cheapest similar quote now £339! What is the problem? Anyone else with similar car having issues?

    MOT

Car passed MOT with rear window wiper blade ripped, advised when recently in for service it was replaced as part of service, so no charge.
  7. Received phone call, CD player has arrived, only it could not be fitted as wrong one supplied! Maybe another 3 -4 months wait Part arrived, took car for it to be fitted... wrong part supplied, maybe another 3 - 4 month wait!

    MOT

It certainly was a Lexus Dealer, have poor experiences with four Lexus dealers...

    MOT

Las Palmas Yeah it is, It's all the hassle I could do without!

    MOT

I did ask for original wipers back, but informed they had been disposed of!

    MOT

Paid for a 3 year service/MOT contract, as well as a discounted MOT parts contract. Car went into dealership for MOT, agreed if any parts required to pass, to fit them. Got back to dealership to find car had passed, then asked for £90! Explained had pre-paid contract, apology yes it's on system, would have thought this would have been checked first. Told they had changed front windscreen wipers as nearing end of life, but not an MOT failure. Explained about MOT parts contract, they had no record on system, so paid saying I would send confirmation of MOT parts contract when I got home. Rang them following day, Service Desk would not speak with me! Phone went dead. Eventually spoke with Service who constantly said wipers replaced as 'nearing' end of life but not MOT failure so could not claim on MOT parts contract. Not at all happy as I did not notice anything wrong with them...the back wiper yes, but this not replaced. Thought this was a strange way to treat a customer. Service Manager telephoned giving a strange answer that my vehicle had two records on their system, one showing Service/MOT contract, the other MOT parts contract, how, why? not explained. He agreed to refund payment for wipers. Wondering if anyone has had similar situation after MOT?
  12. Still no word of when part is arriving, so contacted Lexus Customer Service (actually Toyota Customer Service) who rang me up to say they had looked into this matter... part due 31st May 2023. Living in hope!
  13. Ah well an update.... Nothing has occurred, no new part has arrived....
  14. Ah well some encouraging news! Bit the bullet, contacted dealership in an attempt to find out who they use for any similar faults. They asked to have a look at issue, which they reported was an internal fault... Good news is they would send for replacement under warranty, as vehicle had been serviced by them it was entitled to the extra years warranty. They telephoned today to advise warranty claim successful, only now having problems obtaining new one! I'm well happy with the outcome, just waiting.... I'll get back and let you know the outcome.
  15. Yup - it's not the disc it's the player.
  16. Ah well not so happy after all! This issue is intermittent, although more no working than working! Whilst out driving in countryside with DVD playing, music just stopped... 'Check Disc' shown. Attempted a number of times to load disc but same result, then hey presto it started to play, then after about an hour it stopped again with same message. This has been going on for a few days, yesterday no music, until... I moved the car out last night to get wheelie bin out.... music started! Borrowed cleaning disc as suggested. This disc was accepted and ran through programme. Put DVD in drive nothing, same message. Attempted another clean, now won't recognise this disc. Guess there is something inside player that is causing these hiccups, who is best person to go to, specialist?
  17. Well the surprising unexpected tale of happiness is..... Found someone who was going to lend me a CD cleaner disk, got in car, thought I'll just try that CD again.... It played no problem! Exchanged it for DVD... it played no problem! Had got around to looking at Lexus cars being broken for spares, there are quite a few out there!
  18. Pink Floyd live DVD has been installed in drive unit for sometime, play when music on radio is not to my enjoyment! Have not attempted to play for a few weeks, (these weeks have been cold, icy at times), until today... unusually a lot of noise could be heard as disc was spinning. It didn't play, just message to Check Disc. Attempted a number of times and with different DVD disc and CD disc with same result. First thought, has this something to do with cold weather, but had never had any previous issues over 8 plus years of CT ownership. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
  19. I've had vehicles with door mirrors that fold in/out for many years without having this issue previously, have you experienced this before John?
  20. Thank you Las Palmas, Success! I contacted Lexus dealership without yet receiving any response, so forum wins again!
  21. Locked car, door mirrors didn't fold in, attempted unlocking and locking car without any change. Few hours later came back tried locking/unlocking a few times without change.... car pulled in next to me, then sat for a moment, looked towards me them drove away, must have thought I was breaking in! Started car, door mirrors folded in, now won't move out. Drove home like this. It may be due to hot weather, but seems like I need to reset somehow, any ideas?
  22. Mirror covers had not been attached correctly, very loose and disrupting air flow... I was informed. Believe these were fitted by dealership bought car from, not factory, as from options. After what I described, same as what I posted on here that you stated, this is what I was informed. Whether this is actually the solution I find it difficult to understand, again as you state. Due to the number of occasions this has been looked at by various Lexus dealers I do not believe the actual problem will be discovered, but believe Lexus vehicle records now show this as been resolved so when I come to sell, it should not be an issue... well until the buyer reports same issue!
  23. An update... Completely messed about by another Lexus dealer, treated again like an idiot! Advised to take car in, nothing found. Arranged with service manager for it to go back in for three days to be fully looked at. Arrived to be advised they wanted me to pay for this, if they could not find anything wrong! ... still inside Lexus 3 year warranty. Pay for three days work! I refused. They agreed for their most experienced mechanic to look at it for 'an hour', at their expense, annoyed that this was only brought up when arriving for appointment, they had arranged. They refused my request to speak with mechanic, would not allow me to watch from service area view point and were as difficult as they could be. But... Mechanic discovered an issue .... wing mirror covers had been incorrectly fitted. Once again service manager stated some incredible rubbish, would not accept these were fitted on vehicle from new. Refused to do anything to correct. Did he think I was just going to accept this? Obviously complained to both the Managing Director and Lexus Customer Services, this was worth it as car collected, taken in for repair, brought back the following day, with brand new correctly installed covers, cleaned immaculately inside and out and with more petrol than when it was collected. This has actually made car quieter, but needing to test further when health improves.
  24. Hybrid battery cooling fan located behind driver in rear seat - no this isn't the issue, thanks for the thought, northernstar. As this issue has been on vehicle since brand new, don't believe, drwo, it is something that will appear, then again I don't know for certain! Thanks for your advice, Moleman, again don't believe this is the issue, I'm really starting to think the issue is with the drivers door, anyone noticed a kind of 'wobble' externally on bottom of door when shutting door? Unfortunately had to cancel my appointment to have this looked at by another dealer due to health problems. I will of course report back, once this has been inspected.
  25. So then still have yet to hear from any owners in North East England...
