  1. All I can say is, wonderful, wonderful car. My Veloce goes like stink so i can only imagine what the QV does! I just pray you won’t have to interact with Alfa Customer Services on a regular basis, you get mixed results 🙃 My Alfa goes back soon, maybe very soon and I will miss my Giulia. Best handling car I’ve ever driven, best looking car I’ve ever owned and imho one of the most beautiful ever designs. I often look back over my shoulder for one last glance in the car park. Even given my issues, would I have another...? If I had the money for a QV, in a heartbeat.
  2. 😂 Ive always wanted an Alfa ever since I was a kid, mine has got an electrical gremlin (I think) which is causing check engine lights and I’ve had numerous other issues, but no serious mechanical ones, just stuff that shouldn’t need replacing but has. The car itself, wow oh wow, 280 bhp 2.0 turbo petrol, 0-60 in just over 5 and 40mpg combined over the last 8k. As Del Boy says, it handles like Maradona! My favourite bit are the drilled aluminium paddle shifters, no plastic to be seen. Absolutely adore driving it. Trying to sort returning it early with the lease company.
  3. At least the RCF and C63 don’t run on RF tyres! My summer tyres on the Alfa are around £240 a corner, my 6 series was the same. I have noted the tyres on my potential RCF are from “less established and respected” manufacturers, they’re basically new, but I’d never put cheap rubber on a car, never mind a high performance car. This did get me thinking I must admit, but even if it was tracked, it’s Lexus approved and under warranty. Hopefully I won’t need to go see a C63. Interesting to hear rear access is better in the RCF, my wife is 5ft 1, my daughter aged 10 has already surpassed that, so wifey will get to enjoy the rear cup holders 😄
  4. Rompy, in what way would you assess the RCF as better than the C63? Better build, more refined, power more accessible or is it that it’s less likely to kill you? 😂 I started out wanting a C63, but never went to see one, so just interested. The quicksilver sounds amazing, I’m almost tempted to just go HP so I can modify the car!
  5. Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce, I don’t regret buying it at all, but she must have been a Friday afternoon build.
  6. Cheers, the quicksilver does sound incredible. I found the S7 to be quiet, I’m hoping the RCF is slightly louder. I haven’t driven one yet, I just fell in love with the design when it was first announced and the idea of a NA V8. The interior in the Stang would wear me down after a while, just things like the air vent covers and door cards would drive me insane ultimately. ive read the clutch is heavy and given my 134 mile commute, you are most probably very right!
  7. Ahhhh but you don’t live in Nottingham, you probably live somewhere nice where cars don’t get stolen 😂 I can get it for just over £600 but with Debenhams or goskippy, not sure I’d trust either.
  8. I’ve driven a few Mustangs, both 2.3 and 5.0, it’s the lure of the V8 with the manual box... the 2.3 is just yuck imho
  9. Clarkson once said “you cant call yourself a petrol head until you’ve owned one!” Best car I’ve ever driven, just multiple niggles.
  10. I believe it’s 2 years for the price of one for the warranty, which represents good value imho. My dad has had more than his money’s worth out of his warranty on the LS, but that’s air suspension for you (amongst other things).I’m a sucker for that warranty comfort blanket. As you quite rightly say, I’ll have to keep up those Lexus stamps! Any advice on insurance, so far £768 is the best I have with Aviva, based on 14k miles and £1050 total excess (ouch).
  11. We’re a family of Lexus owners, my dad has a LS460, my 2nd car is a good old RX300, so this will be adding to the fleet 😂 I had my Alfa professionally ceramic coated,it certainly doesn’t stop stone chips I’m afraid and didn’t stop my alloys corroding either. But I will be looking to protect this somehow, ceramic certainly makes them easier to wash! This will be my daily drive, I do about 14k miles a year, mainly on the motorway. I take it easy on the motorway and enjoy the rest of the tank 😃 I’m amazed at the equipment level, it wants for nothing. I’ve never owned a V8, I’ve been looking at all sorts (except BMW) but this car seems to be very good value given it’s not even 3 years old. RCF and a 2019 Mustang are top of my list, test drove a 2013 S7, found it was clinical and lacked soul (imho) still a great car though. If this one doesn’t work out, I will probably have a look at a C63, I would be worried to take that out in the wet though!
  12. Cheers, that’s what I’m hoping! My current lease car (although an awesome car) has given me too much grief and I’m contacting the lease company tomorrow to hopefully terminate the agreement early. Only a handful of months left anyway, they have been accommodating to at least one other owner and allowed them to hand theirs back, no charges and they even refunded them 2 payments! This is my chance to get a V8 before we’re all driving Duracell powered scooters (other batteries are available 😁)
  13. Thanks for the reply. 12 months standard and 2 years additional, I fully intend to have it under warranty for the entirety of my ownership, I hate repair bills 😂 I would love to modify the exhaust at some stage, but that will depend on whether I take it on PCP or not. I doubt Lexus finance would be too happy if I modified their car. I don’t want to get too excited, just in case it doesn’t work out. Daft I know, I should be buzzing and not worrying about car finance 🤓
  14. Hi guys, complete newbie so please bear with me. I’m potentially purchasing an RCF this week, given how thin they are on the ground, you’ve got a 1/6 chance of guessing which one it is 😅 Any advice or guidance on RCF ownership would be gratefully appreciated. It will come with a 3 year warranty, so I guess there’s not much to look out for except exterior scratches etc Heres hoping everything works out and the finance goes through! 🤑 Cheers
