Hello & Happy New Year to All The alarm has stopped functioning via the key fob due to a problem with the drivers door lock not operating properly, the central locking on the driver door opens and closes the other three doors but not the drivers. This in turn is affecting the alarm as it will not activate whilst the door is unlocked, or now i am locking the drivers door manually and then pressing the fob to enusre alarm is activated. What could be the fault - FUSE - RELAY - MECHANISM ......?????? Can anyone shed some light.

Had this problem for some time, got it sorted last week. In my case the problem was with the cd, spoke to Lexus Manchester recommended a new sat nav reader for £2.3k, spoke to Lexus Stockport confidently advised that its the cd told me to pop in and check system and use new cd. All is working A1, went to London on Friday worked a treat. So appears it was not the reader but just the cd, someone has some explaining to do, in process of compiling letter to Lexus Manchester for explanation. So people try the upgraded cd first it could resovle the issue, as the box very rarely goes faulty.

Just had same problem with mine but it was due to inaccurate wheel balancing. Had wheels balanced twice but same problem. Changed front wheels to back and all rebalanced by ATS, problem solved. Also has a fat spot in one of the tyres which also aggrevated the problem. So like the rest of the replies will have to say go to a decent tyre place to resolve.

Thanks to all, especially Mr. Dipstick. Won't be buying a new jag keep the current GS430 wheels for now and wait for a more realistic offer.

Hi All Had the discs and pads changed to Black diamond, no probs now. Car booked in with dealers to give final once over to be on safe side. Might be an idea to get a LOC discount setup direct with manufacturer, can pass over details to relevant person if required. Regards Awais

I have the same problem on my MKII 1998 GS300. Had the unit out and 'serviced' by a mate who does auto electrics but no joy. My problem started when I changed the disc to a new version. The sat nav unit is made by DENSO, they have offices in UK but are not interested in touching the unit and advise to return to dealer. Dealer has advised that ECU is faulty and all unit needs to be replaces cost approx £2k +vat. I have sourced someone who could possibly supply a second hand one, but keeps bringing me toyota ones and not lexus. If I can get one, will try to get for you also will pm with price as I don't know how much but safe to safe much less than dealers.

Hi All Just had the front discs and pads replaced on my 1998 MK2 GS300. Recently the steering wheel has started to judder and vibrate when braking, no wobble on brake pedal. The judder on the steering is always present during braking but strongest at low speeds 40mph to zero. Could it be the steering column bushes? Can anyone help Regards Awais

Colin The unit will not read the cd and sends message 'no cd rom' or 'door open'. sometimes displays the gps position with a white background on the screen but no map. All this happened after changing the old cd with a european one borrowed from Lexus library.

Hello all I have been having problems with the reader on my sat nav for some time, replacement of the reader is currenlty not an option as too expensive, unless someone knows where I can get a replacement or repair the existing. I am thinking of replacing the touch screen and controls in the dash over to a standard dash in order to fit a aftermarket dvd/sat nav system. Is this possible or is it best to relace the reader only. Awais

Hi people Can anyone explain why the alarm flashes the indicators five times when I press the lock button on the key twice. The car is a MKII 98 R reg GS 300. Awais

Filled up the both petrol & lpg tanks, but needle is still showing on empty. Is there a reset for the petrol gauge? Regards Awais

Hello people I have been into Lexus and they inform me that the ECU in the sat nav is faulty, and the whole unit needs to be replaced at a cost of £2k. Does anyone know if the ECU can be repaired or 're-conned' or if there is an after market product that can be fitted to the existing system. Awais

The petrol guage reasoning sounds plausible, will check on next lpg refil. But no resolve on the SAT NAV, iIhave used a CD rom lens cleaner but reading of cd rom is intermittent, ie it will read the GPS locationof car but will not traverse a route. Have booked in with Lexus to hopefully resolve. Awais

Hello people The vehicle in question is a MKII GS300 R reg on 1998 plate . Can anyone advise on how the petrol guage sets its self after a refil. Reason for asking is that I have have converted over to LPG and the needle is moving as if petrol is being used. Is the needle moving electronically ie based on mpg rather than actual volume in tank. The problem with the Sat Nav is that I have removed the CD and replaced with ver 3.7 borrowed from Lexus Library, but it is not reading the ver3.7cd and now not readiing the oriignal ver1.3 cd. Is there a reset switch or another way of srting out the read problem on the cd. Thank you. Regards Awais
