Hi All,
Have literally just bought an NX300H today (2018) and the Lexus dealer said they are a month away from being able to install Android Auto. Does Miracast provide the same functionality?
Thanks!
No, not the same thing at all. It literally allows screen mirroring but even that doesn't allow some things to display while in motion, even sat Nov! Miracast is a bit of a pain to use in honesty. Android Auto is much much better.

You mean 1140 - it is after the CarPlay upgrade. It shouldn’t even work before the upgrade as the model number of your system will be different at that point. The retrofit changes the model number of both the DCU (Audio) and MEU (Navigation).
Oops, 1140. "For clarity" 🙄
Understood, cheers for that 👍

Loads of RXs in UK, definitely not too large for our roads! There are many other vehicles, larger around...

So, sorry guys, for clarity, 1440 to be done first or afterwards, or doesn't it matter?

Hi Steve, yes it's the screaming sort of sound that I hear when say putting your foot down to pass someone quickly.
Sorry mate, you're stuck with that! 🙂

Ah, I was thinking that you meant that the 'little button' was to the right of the actual tailgate release catch on the door itself rather than in the cab.
I have got the button on the remote to open and close it, but not the 'locking' button.
I don't have the one either for the 'pretend sound' which DanD says is only on the F Sport. I seem to recall that I had it on my IS300h though. I was able to turn that down. What I don't like about the sound is that, for want of a better description, it sounds like the car is struggling/racing, not too sure that's the most apt description.
It sounds like you're referring to the natural sound of the CVT auto! Under load or acceleration, the engine will race at high revs without an associated increase in speed. Is that what you mean?

When I test drove the NX, it was a base model and I wanted an F-Sport. The base model was lacking in things like the sunroof, AVS and triple headlights, and I'm so glad I wasn't put off by that car. I needn't have worried as I love the F Sport, it's a superior interior (black/black) and the pan roof (option) transforms it.

Let me know if it's a Nextbase cam and you need any more help.

They're Low Profile Mini fuses. I had the same issue installing my Nextbase dash cam. If you're also doing a Nextbase cam, you will need that type of tap with your installation kit. You can get them free from Nextbase but they don't come with the kit.

Beautiful. I have one myself ☺️

Hi, This may have been a previous topic but has anyone heard of the possibility of Android / Apple Carplay being made available for our UK NX300h cars.
I drive a 2019 model and I heard there was a possibility of this being on the horizon at some point.. anything to get over the awkwardness of using the, what
I find a non friendly 'Japanese' Infotainment system would certainly be a great advantage.. the latest brand new UX and I believe NX now have the feature,
surely it got to be a matter of a software update.. anyone know ?
Retrofits for recent NXs were to be available May this year but due to Covid, I believe it's been put back to October (or so). I'm waiting eagerly as well.

hmm... I've just been through all the NX English manuals I can find, and all of them show that fusebox under the glovebox...... until one that I found that is valid from July 2020...
https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM78580E.pdf
Suddenly it no longer shows the glovebox fusebox.... but doesn't indicate where they've moved those fuses to....!!

Hi Guys,
thanks for the replies. Don, do I assume your fuse box wasn't in the passenger foot well ?
Luckily I'm a retired electronics engineer so can figure out where to pull power from - might look into the cigar ligher feed if that's switched and run a fused feed from there, but ideally could do with finding the fuse box - must be somewhere or I've missed it.
The usb ports are both in use in the center console - one for smartphone USB Carplay and the other for a 64GB usb memory stick for music etc.
Tim, the manual for my car shows the fusebox under the glovebox, does yours not? Hopefully it will show you the locations of all yours just as mine does...

I've fitted a Nextbase webcam (front only) to a 2019 NX F sport and quite happily found the fuse box behind the glovebox. It has about 20 fuses in it and I piggybacked one of the ACC fuses so that it's switched with the ignition. No problem at all. Not sure why a Takumi wouldn't have that fuse box. You took off the cover under the glove box? It's up underneath at the left hand side. Little white plastic cover on it...

I traded in a Q3 2.0TDI Quattro that I had owned for nearly 6 years for a new NX luxury over 2 years ago.
I do miss certain aspects of the Q3, but overall much prefer the NX. I am looking to change in the next 12 months but there is nothing out there that is as good as an 'all round product' than my NX. The question I keep askng myself is do I want dependability over desirablity?
I'd simply wait for the NX facelift! There are few cars better looking than the NX to me. So I don't agree with your desirability comment. An Audi is very undesirable to me, they're as common as muck! 😏

I have the 2019 FSport. I read the same as you, was deeply worried about the ride being harsh. I needn't have worried it feels plush and rides beautifully in my mind. The AVS system apparently makes it harder in Sport mode, but frankly it doesn't seem to make much difference to me. Comfortable whichever way you drive it. I also had the new RAV4 in my final list but went for the NX because it looks loads better than the RAV (in and out) and is a luxury brand. I'm very happy with my decision. Worry not, it's a lovely car and only sounds a bit noisy when the engine races. I find I rarely drive it that way! I love my car.

This looks like the current NX from the back. The badge just looks wrong!! 😊

Always assumed it was for an id card or credit card etc...

Thanks for that Steve so can you just confirm this one will auto start on timer if we are ever allowed to spend an extended period away from home with the Lexus sitting in the garage.
Hi David, yes, I can confirm that the charger starts immediately that power is applied, so should do what you're after. 👍

I will meter check it the next time I charge and see if I get the same issue.
So, for info, I checked the voltage with a multimeter this time (on 2 cars) to see whether the Foxsur unit (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123996353457) was measuring correctly and on the one I got 13.17v on the multimeter and 13.2v on the Foxsur. I think this is reasonable given that it rounded up as it only displays to 1 decimal place. On the other Battery I got readings of 12.8v on both the multimeter and the Foxsur, so I'm happy that it's accurate.

I think I'm right in saying that that was the concept car for the current car! 😊

I purchased one of those a few months ago from Amazon but found the voltage reading on the display was 0.2v lower than what my meter read at the clips. Returned it as it could overcharge and damaged the battery if it thinks the voltage is lower than reality. May have just been a faulty one but sometimes you get what you pay for.
I will meter check it the next time I charge and see if I get the same issue.

Many thanks for your comments, the reason I do not want to go down the Ctek route as I already have a similar one, but does not operate in a simple way i.e. you have to tell it type of vehicle each time you put 240v to it and my idea was the not leave on 24hr but on a timer for say 2 hours per day. I also have a very old type at least 25 years old which will charge from total flat if required
Colin
Thanks for the info on the NOCO might well be a better choice.
I bought one of these, is fully automatic and runs as soon as you switch on at the mains, so should do as you want on a timer if you wished. HTH

Here are the relevant pages of the tech document, there is overlap... and I'm not certain of the precise order, but it's all there - there are two parts - one for cars with the GPF (gas particulate filter) and one for cars without it. Essentially they're not a lot different and I don't think the 300h has the GPF... (anyone?)
Hope they help.
