They had a GSF before I think as well? They also left an advert on autotrader saying 'we'll buy your GSF' always a pleasure to see a need for the F cars 😄

They has Chris's of which was black but hand ML and sunroof. Prior to that they have had the USB one that featured on pistonheads a few years back.

I’m sure they purchased their black one off a member on here. It’s been on there for a good few months now.

That was Chris's, purchased before this current black one.

  4. Lexus GB flew a select few of us out to Ascari to see the launch and drive the car - around 2/3 months before they come to the UK.

I was really impressed by it, the TVD is fantastic and it can only be appreciated on the track - that be said my GSF has performed on the road when I have needed it to 😁 Unlike an M4 the RCF does need to be worked hard and get it wrong and you can really lose time, that be said, if you miss the torque curve in the M4 you can also find yourself in a little bit of trouble.

Dependent upon race track I think that you would appreciate the TVD (brands Hatch 👍) and as you own and drive a Fiesta ST I think that you will get an appreciation for the RCF on track as you have something to compare it to - on the bends it sure makes the car feel like it has so much more torque than it really does.

  5. I totally agree hockey.

It is easy to forgot but just 12 years there was no such thing as an F range.

If we want to compare a £120,000 M4 GTS against this white RCF thingy as a like for like then fair enough but BMW had their M range well underway before Lexus even existed. Lexus have come far since 2008 and the models are priced so much more competitive than the German range. Considering that the F range was born in the heat of a global recession I think that Lexus has come far with their F range, unfortunately they just haven't achieved their numbers in the UK.

Maybe I will get shot down for this, but just like Astons and such like, the F range is much better suited to the USA, middle east and Asian market. My statement is based upon evidence of relative sales evidence.

I recall the Aston Martin 70th birthday celebrations in 2017/2018 - us UK Aston owners watched Aston Martin Singapore and China fly a Vanquish in mid air via a helicopter, it made headlines. But yet, in the UK, we received an email newsletter. British band, pffft.

No such market in the UK to warrant costs of a celebration of that magnitude.

    I missed that. Apologies.

That car has done the rounds indeed, on trailer I am guessing, however the original thread on this vehicle is almost 18 months old.

If you have an interest in the car, maybe the colour ticks your box (mesa red is amazing in the flesh 3 stage pearl paint) then I think that it would be both lazy and nieve not to investigate this car further.

Maybe to avoid wasting your time, send a message out to the seller questioning the points that were raised on the original thread.

Best of luck, there may be some haggling to be had especially given the time of year.

High cost of parts vs low warranty cost make the warranty very appealing on these cars imho.

Of course, the likely hood of something going wrong is low. Which is why the warranty is so cheap in the first place.

Depends how risk adverse you are!

£795 for a 2 year warranty Lexus ISF no excess, unlimited mileage, RAC (in other cars & for partner), MOT cover - a single claim on the Mark Levinson subwoofer costs the equivelent.

    £1500 for a 1 year warranty (£3000 2 year) Audi a4 s line warranty on 2017 model

£2400 for a 1 year warranty (£4800 2 year) Aston Martin Vantage 5-10 years old

    £3000 for a 1 year warranty (£6000 2 year) BMW M4

    £3700 for a 1 year warranty (£7200 2 year) Mclaren 570s

People can make what they will from the above.

I personally have claimed on several Lexus warranties, GS300, RX450, IS250, ISF, GSF, I don't think that there is a Lexus that I have never had to claim on however, never had a claim refused. Audi, single claim on the manufacters, refused, a little legal jargon overturned the refusal and Aston warranty, well, more refusals than I have had hot dinners.

    Hi All,

Just joined and looking at the possibility of buying an IS-F.

My understanding is that if the car is less than 10 years and has a full Lexus service history. Then a warranty can be purchased. Do Lexus still have to inspect the car if the last service was less than 12 months ago?

    Thanks

Your understanding is correct plus 140k mileage limit.

    A warranty inspection is required.
