  1. Thank God there's the inevitable a comedian on hand. "Always look on the bright side of life"
  2. Went to Lyon Road site (Toyota+Lexus) last Wednesday to have a protection plate fitted. Turns out they didn't actually have the part from Lexus which was frustrating. However I was quite pleased with the setup there, lots of coffee, comfortable seats and loads of What Car? magazines showing how well Toyota and Lexus have done in the Best Cars of the Year 2024! I am told servicing for Lexus will stay at Lyon Road and not go to the old Hendy site. I'm due for service in October so will have to wait until then to give a proper critique although, who knows, they may have got the protection plate and other new security measures for my NX sorted before then! Afterwards, on Wednesday, went to the old Hendy site to see if I could get a test drive in the new LBX. Only one salesman in the showroom and he was busy with another customer. Eventually found someone else to talk to but he was just going out. However, he said another salesman would be available shortly. Spent the next 30 minutes looking around new and used cars. Tried to get into LBX in showroom but battery was flat so doors and boot wouldn't open. Salesman never showed up and I went home. So, apparently Snows not much better than Hendy!
  3. I have needed to phone Lexus Bournemouth recently but no matter how many messages I leave I never get a call back. Has anybody else had a similar experience?
  4. Problem solved - peace and quiet restored! Many thanks for all replies, particularly PMR and pobrown who put me on the right track. The culprit was indeed the Dash Cam that the dealer persuaded me to have fitted. The answer is in the Dash Cam settings, accessed through your phone, where the start up and shut down racket can be muted. Thanks again. This owners' forum is a terrifice resource to solve problems. As an aid to others who may experience the same problem, I've attached here a video of the noise before it was suppressed. 20191104_084810_272234244830396_(1).mp4
  5. Thanks Tony. I have just sent an email to My Lexus and hope for a swift reply. Interesting that you don't have the same problem and gives me hope that mine can be easily sorted. Cheers.
  6. Welcome to Europe's Leading Lexus Club! Please Enjoy!

  7. I took delivery of a new 300h Takumi three weeks ago. Unlike my previous 300h Premier, it makes this awful noise on startup and shutdown. I presume the car now thinks it's a computer and therefore has to make bongs and bings to tell us it's alive. However both my wife and I find it very irritating as it happens every time the car is started or turned off. I've searched the manual but can't find anything about silencing this noise. Can anyone out there help?
