  1. Nice one Chris thanks. Not so sure I like it though !!! Be interesting to see what other members think.
  2. Thanks Chris, as soon as it stops raining I'll go and get the number off the screen.
  3. I've been where you are now and its a tough but nice choice to have to make. The X5 3.0d sport has top residuals but try finding a used face lift model!! Not much around and the wait for new is an etenity. Go for an ex demo RX or a discounted new one, you will not regret your decision. If you want stunning build quality, reliability, high specification, attractive styling and great value the Lexus wins, if you want to conform then go for the X5 - I nearly did!!
  4. Have any of you got a picture of the silver engine undertray option for the new RX300? Can't find any info in the Lexus literature. If it looks nice I might get one fitted. Is it worth having?
  5. You don't say what the mileage is but it sounds to me like a transmission oil change might be needed. Got to be worth a try. Also I'm not sure if that model has an adaptive transmission but it might be worth investigating and if so get your dealer to reset the perameters. Could be that after a good distance drive the shift pattern is changing to suit that kind of useage. I had a similar problem on a Volvo S60.
  6. Hi 'Jason' My ex Lexus GB car had to have its carpet replaced before delivery, this might account for much of the interior trim damage. It was clear that several scratches had been polished from the bodywork as there were dull patches on several panals where buffing had taken place. The front passenger door had indeed been repaired but the shade (Silver) was not a match and so was obvious from a distance. The O/S front wheel was badly curbed, the windscreen scratched, the tailgate scratched in two places, the wood trim on the rear centre armrest was in a terrible state, the illuminated sill protectors were ruined, the rubber ring around the ignition key position was tatty, the drivers mirror was scratched etc etc... When you say "we hand them back" do you mean you work for Lexus GB because if you do you might pass these comments back because the system is clearly not working. I can give you the registration number and Dealer details if you want it.
  7. Cheers guys. Nice pics. My sis just traded in her TT for an IS200 (kids!!!) loves it to bits.
  8. Two RX 300's in 3 months, not bad going I thought. Some of you might remember my posting about buying a 6 month old RX SE-L (Ex Lexus GB) without seeing the car. Bad move!! Although it came through a main dealer the car was in generally poor condition (miss match colour on a door, lots of scuffs and scratches, damaged wheels etc) It had not even been polished before delivery. Bit dissapointing given the expectation from JD Powers top franchise. Still, credit to the dealer they offered to do a straight exchange for a new SE with Nav without any quibble and let me keep the existing car until the new one came through. Being the sort of bloke who likes his toys I paid the extra and have just taken delivery of a new SE-L with ICE. As I said before my initial decision was cemented after reading your Forum's and despite the rocky start, I love this car. How can someone say an X5 is better? Where I live X5's and XC90's are two-a-penny, but I am yet to see another RX. I take it there are some out there? Wherever I park the car it attracts attention. Some Japanese tourists even took photo's of it on Sunday!! Great car, incredible build quality, not sure the ICE was worth the £2,600 though!!! By the way, my wife loves the car too, so all is well in the Easylife household.
  9. :D Thanks for your votes of confidence. Despite natural concerns I am looking forward to getting it.
  10. Hi, I have never used a forum before but on the basis that there's a first time for everything, here goes. Its Wednesday and I'm worried, I have bought an RX 300 SE-L from a dealer without ever seeing or driving one before. The TV advert started the ball rolling. It looked great so I sent off for a brochure. It still looked great in the book so I set about tracking one down. There is no Lexus dealer in my area and I live on an Island so the whole deed was done on the Net and phone. Having tracked down an ex Lexus owned SE-L, I did the deal and on Saturday I'll be handing over a whole wedge of hard earned money to take delivery of something I know very little about. Slightly crazy I know, but kind of exciting too. My wife wanted an X3 and the kids an XC90. But it was the toys that sold me on the idea of the Lexus. Will I regret the decision ? Will my wife say I told you so and make me eat Humble Pie for the next two years? Will the Air Suspention make the kids sick? Well if so, I'll blame you guys because before finally taking the plunge I read your Forum Topics and believed everything you said ! I'll let you know how it goes.
