  1. Hey everyone,

Following my last post, I took the plunge to attempt to touch up my leather interior of my 2004 SC430.

I used the Rutland touch up leather dye and after watching a few YT videos I did my first coat.

I made a short video of the before and after the process, I am quite pleased with the results (& how well the ecru drivers seat looks now).

I think I will need to do another couple of coats to bring the interior back to a higher standard.

I want to say a special thanks to Neil for his help, he gave me reassurance for buying the Rutland leather dye.
Here is my video I made on my SC430 leather seat touch up, I hope this helps any owners thinking about doing this touch up.

    Thomas 🙂

To give you some idea of cost. If someone stole the third cat, I think it could be fixed for around £200-£300 with a replacement Y merge pipe and new flanges. A complete cat back stainless steel exhaust would be around £650 and a little more with a third cat delete. It does vary with different suppliers and depend on resonator/muffler choice, etc. I haven't heard of an SC430 cat theft yet.

fingers crossed there isn't a theft hehe!
I really need to start saving up for a new exhaust system.

  3. Hey everyone,

I am just over a year into ownership with my Lexus SC430. It has passed its MOT and I have been trying to resolve the issues as they pop up (which feels almost monthly recently).

The fresh brake pads have greatly improved the stopping power in the car, I managed to source a replacement 'pie' wheel cover from a fellow Lexus enthusiast/ follower on my YouTube channel. I hopefully plan to get the bumper touched up (was bought with some paint chips and a little peeling at corner).

The cream carpets have been tough to keep clean, recently scrubbed up well. My leather dye arrived over the weekend, so I will need to do that over the next wee while.

I might try and brave re-foaming the speakers that have been vibrating soon.

If anyone wishes to see my latest SC 430 video, please see my video below:

Nice vid, looking forward to see what you do with it.

The 6x9 8 ohm door speakers can usually be repaired. Some owners have replaced them with a standard 4 ohm Alpine set with no adverse impact on the amplifier.

thanks for that, I was thinking of refoaming mine

    Hey Folks,

1st of the vlogs on my new project car goes live tonight if anyone is interested.

    Thanks,

    Ross

    Great video/vlog.
Nice to see another Scottish vlogger and the SC is a great car, I have had mine just over a year.

  6. Hey everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well?

I thought I would pop on and say that I can't believe it has been 17 months since the CT was picked up. Time has flown in (lockdowns probably helped that). I am averaging just below 50mpg.

Just over 16,000 miles have been done on the CT200h & the only issue I have had so far is when the weather is cold (-5oC for example) and the CD player doesn't register the discs.

    Hi all

I have been on the lookout for a Lexus CT 200 H, facelift from 2014, and although I have done my research from google and browsing various forums, I'm a little miffed out which models come with LED headlights...

to put it this way, LED headlights was an option on the F-sport but on the premier its standard ?

When i search Autotrader, i click on an advert, and check the specs, and most of them say HID Halogens on the bottom on the list, but on some, say LED headlights with halogen high beam

i realise the halogen high beam is part of the LED headlights, that's what you get, but why do i see LED headlights listed on trims called "SE" "Advance" and "Luxury" as well as F-Sport and Premier models ?

    for example :

    SE -

    ADVANCE -

    LUXURY -

That is one of the main ones i want to make sure I get , besides, Lexus deserve the best option 🙂

    cheers

I personally went for a standard CT & then added the tech & premium pack to it. I much prefer the facelifts new headlight design

If you want to clean it you need something like a toothbrush to get underneath but I never did this in fear of damaging the paint.

They annoyed me and I found it a genuine PITA to clean them as much as possible so just removed them - looks much cleaner IMO

And no stone chips on this area after 4 years by the way - Im very very skeptical about this little piece of PPF - the place that really needs PPF is probably the front bumper than this area.

Additionally, this particular car was bought from Lexus Chester - cant complain with the service I got, and the deal on the vehicle too.

Do you know if it is possible to buy the protector? One has came off and I am looking to replace it.

  9. Hey Lexus Family,

I hope you are all keeping well?

I can not believe I have nearly had my SC for nearly a year (& far fewer road trips than I would have thought, for obvious reasons). The car goes in for its MOT this Saturday (fingers crossed it sails through).

As part of my ongoing experience with the SC I made the video (below).
A special thanks to Neil and the rest of the SC gang that have helped me with SC questions over the months.

Here is a link to my latest update with my '04 SC 430.

    Thomas 🙂

Thanks Thomas, very pleased with it so far. Viewed your latest vid the other day. Keep them coming.

When I sell the SC430 perhaps I could edit the You Tube video and commission you to do the voice-over sales pitch? 🙂

Yeah I am happy to help any way that I can, and thanks for watching it too! (appreciate it - my goal is to try get to 1k subs)
