  1. If your buying the car new, it's worth getting prices from places like JamJar and Virgin Cars, and go to a car supermarket web-site for prices too. Print these off, and take them with you to the dealer, take his best price, and take it to another dealer (same company), and give them all the numbers...

Of course this depends on the car / dealer / timing...

I've always been told to shop in the last week of a month, because dealers are trying to get their numbers up then.

And a final trick (buying new), shop a month before a reg is released... if you don't mind not having the lastest plate, you'd be surprised how much a dealer will knock off.

    Just my 2 cents.

Nice one - Thanks mate :)

  2. Come on......you must have seen that episode of Friends where Rachael (the lurrrrrvvvvlllllyyyyy Jennifer Anniston   ) dresses up as Princess Leah in the gold bikini?

don't worry Tony - I'm with you (err..Princess Leah) on this one :whistling::whistling::whistling:

  3. My better half's looking to buy a new RAV4. I've got what I think to be a reasonable price from a dealer - but then I came across THESE PEOPLE.

Has anyone got any words of wisdom for me. It all reads ok, but then it would as they're selling something.

I do NOT want an import.

Alternatively would anyone like to recommend a sales bod in Toyota that's going to give me a mega deal?

    Thanks...

  4. there is a polish that Auto glym do that is also good fr the wet look, you put it on over the normal polish, id be dammed if i cannot remember what its called

 Think is may be their "Extra Gloss Protection", it has a gold coloured bit on the bottle as opposed to the red for the super resin polish

  5. Brett, no problems in the slightest.

Fitting's a piece of cake, no soldering. just plug and play.

The bulbs are a direct replacement, the ballast boxes have double sided pads to stick near to the lamps. Then it's just a matter of a couple of connections onto the Battery

I was spending a fortune on various bulbs (PIAA extremes etc - which are by far the best halogen substitute) then decided I wanted HID.

Be aware these are for off road use only :whistling: so you'll fail an MOT. In saying that it would only take a matter of minutes to replace the halogens temporarily.

Go for it mate. You won't regret it B) B) B)

    Rick.

  6. I'm about to renew and want to be very careful that the insurance company has all the details. I asked about "factory fitted parts". Spoilers, sports grill etc, they said as long as I've owned it from new and they were factory fitted thats fine.

However it varies with each company so give them as much info as you can.

  7. - You CAN have the phone kit both mute the stereo, AND use the car's speakers

    - This works on ALL IS models, including those with the amp (anything but the early S types) and satnav

    - Despite my best efforts, I've only found one dealer nationally who knows how to do this

They don't offer gold discount (yet!) but the lovely Liz at Security World is very helpful. If you contact them, tell them you're from LOC, and we'll get some discount yet!

I too have spoken to Security World and agree they appear to be the only company able to offer this feature.

A couple of things that put me off (slightly) was that the volume of the call was still controlled by the phone (a necessity due to feedback) and not the stereo and it is only wired through ONE of the car speakers. So all you are really gaining is a slightly better speaker (and the mute of course).
