  1. Hi all, This seems to be a common theme with these climate control units, however I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to remove the scratches/scuffs, or at least make them less noticeable? The easiest option I thought would be to replace the unit from a breakers yard as they're only £20-£40, however even the units from newer CTs have the same marks on them.
  2. Thank you, well that's a relief at least. My main concern is that while I have my foot lightly on the brake, it might be flickering the brake light to the driver behind if my foot hovers at the level between on/off. I'd rather it just came on every time my foot is on the brake so that it's definitely ON or OFF.
  3. Same here, my alarm was going off multiple times for no apparent reason, then after the third time I opened the door to find a fly in the car. It must have been setting off the motion sensor.
  4. Bittersweet update - That link above is the correct solution ✅ however it's impossible to reach without removing the knee airbag and a lot of dash trim ☑️
  5. I may have found the answer: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-2008-2014/743248-brake-light-switch-sensitivity.html I'll try this tonight and report back if it fixes it 🤞 (I was going to delete this thread but it may be useful for others who experience the same issue)
  6. Interested to know if anyone else has experienced this or if it's just my car, but I've noticed that if I depress the brake pedal lightly (2-3cm), my brake light doesn't come on. For example I can coast downhill with my foot lightly on the brake, but with no brake light. Under normal braking it illuminates fine and it's not a danger, but seems like something I should fix regardless. Does anyone know of a way to adjust the sensitivity of the brake pedal switch to make the light come on sooner? (PS. My brakes work fine, it's just the sensitivity of the brake light).
  7. Definitely not a problem, just an observation. I only notice it if I'm stopped at a junction and about to turn, or if I'm parking. Just thought it was weird that they are exposed considering the attention to detail everywhere else in the car. I'm sure there must be a reason for it though.
  8. Thanks Paul. My wife has a Toyota which also has exposed screws, so I suspected that might be the case! I wish I hadn't noticed them because it will bug me now 😄
  9. Do these exist? It doesn't seem very 'Lexus-y' to have exposed screws on the steering column. There also appears to be a little hole for a potential screw-cap to clip into (see photos). However, I've searched the internet and cannot find any reference to screw caps for the steering wheel. Is my car missing these or are all CTs like this?
  10. I believe you just need to click '+ see more cars' and it loads the rest of your service history. Not sure why it says that and not 'see more history' but that works for me.
  11. Hi @diabolik. I didn't have any instructions, however I did format the USB stick to fat32. Perhaps my car just doesn't like it - not the end of the world as I'm not experiencing any issues with the current version, but as there's a newer one available I thought I'd try to install it.
  12. Great post, however my car doesn't install the update. It recognises that there's an update available on the USB stick ("New software has been found"), but when I click 'Update Software' it says: "The new software is 0.0MB. Start software update?" I click 'Yes' and it says: "Software could not be updated. Wait a while before use" The file size is 158MB so I'm a little confused 🤔 Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
  13. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll take a look when the storm has died down outside! 😄
  14. Thanks for the info Herbie, that's good to know. I'll take a look.
  15. Hi all, I've found lots of threads about wiper issues, but I can't find this particular one... No matter what speed/frequency I twist the dial to when on the intermittent setting, my wipers always move at the same rate. It's really frustrating as when it's only lightly raining, the wipers will move constantly without delay, even if I have them on the lowest intermittent setting. I end up having to manually push the stalk up to wipe the windscreen every few seconds instead which isn't ideal. Has anyone else experienced this or might know what the fix is?
  16. Thanks lyserman and rob_clio172. I've called Lexus and they agree it shouldn't make any noise, so I'm heading back there next week to adjust it.
  17. I've had the same issue with my spare key. Both keys have brand new batteries, however the spare occasionally doesn't get detected if it's in my pocket, whereas the main one does. Not much of an issue as I just use the main one, but just thought I'd share as it might be a common issue.
  18. I didn't even know they existed - great shout, thanks 👍
  19. Cheers Herbie. I thought that would probably be the case. It seems a shame to have to put up with a worse driving experience because someone 'might' steal the cat (and chances are, they may well steal it with the catloc fitted anyway). I just don't want to kick myself by removing it for the silence and then get landed with a £2k bill to replace a stolen cat as a result 😕
  20. Due to the huge rise in catalytic converter thefts, I thought I'd play it safe and get a Catloc fitted for peace of mind. Lexus installed it yesterday, however since collecting the car, I've noticed a subtle but definite rattle. It's most noticeable at lower speeds (I guess because the car is quieter). Is this common or something I should go back to Lexus about? I just wanted to check if anyone else has had a similar experience with the Catlocs in case Lexus fob me off when I call them. It's such as shame as the silence of the CT is one of the things I love about the car.
  21. There is one on ebay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334108268544?hash=item4dca679800:g:qa0AAOSwPYhhEkoq It says the SKU is: CB102010056 but I'm not sure if that's the part number or just their own reference.
  22. My 2014 CT200h F Sport has done 128,000 miles and is running like it's just left the showroom. Just routine maintenance/servicing and the pesky heat shield refitted.
  23. Hi everyone, I bought my Lexus CT200h F Sport (2014) recently and absolutely love it. It's surprising how many options come as standard, however given its age I'd like to modernise it slightly. Does anyone know of any aftermarket wireless phone chargers that have been made to specifically fit the CT? I'm not looking for a phone holder/mount, but instead something that looks like it should be OEM such as a tray that fits under the armrest etc. I used to have an Audi Q5 and there were loads of these type of mods on ebay/aliexpress but I can't seem to find anything for the CT. I found a post on the forum from someone with a non-nav CT (they put the charger where the joystick usually is), however I've got navigation so can't use that method. Any help appreciated!
