I had a 'phone call from Lexus Maidstone regarding a recall. It is now booked in for " Reprogramming" which apparently should take a couple of hours. Any other UX owners had 'phone call ?
When I checked the DVLC website I found no current recall.

So,the UX is hardly worth the Lexus badge ? I'm lost for words.

I used to love watching rallycross at Lydden years ago and remember a much modified DAF 55 with 4WD driven by Jan de Rooy being competitive.

I've never really done mainstream. Many years ago I had a thing about MZ motorcycles.

Before I got my UX I had a 2017 Skoda Yeti which was a great car and it had a heated windscreen.

No ,I didn't have to pay, maybe because my car is just over a year old?

I was planning to brave the elements to wash my UX but I got an e-mail from my Lexus dealer inviting me to bring my car in for a winter health check which included a wash and valet . A nice clean car and Lexus coffee and bikkies while I waited . Result!

Maybe I should just use more force when I shut the doors, maybe I'm too kind !

A few times lately I've seen a notification on my 'phone telling me one or more doors on my UX is not shut properly after I've driven it. Obviously I check and find every door Is shut properly.
Anybody else come across this?

This morning I had just parked my UX in a supermarket car park and I noticed a CT200 driver winding his window down to talk to me. He said something like" Great cars aren't they ? " Then asked me if I wanted to buy a "genuine" Lexus watch . I told him I don't wear a watch day to day then so then he wanted me to buy it as present for someone. I told him I really wasn't interested and he drove off suddenly.
I can't imagine he sells many.

My first job after I left school was in a garage/ filling station. I always had a Redex can nearby to ask customers whether they wanted a short shot or a long shot with their 4 gallons of 4 star, I also had to add 2 stroke oil in the right quantity for bikes and scooters whether the ratio was 20 to 1 or 25 to 1 for example.

I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago to check the dreaded polyps and I was asked whether I wanted to watch on a screen which I did .It was fascinating and a new perspective on things so to speak. No problems found and Movicol sure does work !!

This post is not Lexus related but I think it's in the right place. I guess there may be a few owners on here who also ride a motorcycle.
I've been touring Europe by bike since 1980 but not been over there since Brexit for various reasons . This September my wife and I are going to Normandy and am getting contrary info on what we need to have like reflective helmet stickers, breathalysers , hi viz jackets etc.
Has any one been to France this year and can tell me what we need to do before we go and what do we need to take ?
Thanks

Spotted on the Kings Road in Chelsea at the weekend was a Lamborghini with the reg V12 0MFG. I'd rather not have to explain it !

I chose a hybrid because I wanted the economy of a diesel but with a petrol engine. Last time I checked I am getting 53 mpg and I use ECO mode 100%. The reason for a Lexus is the amazing build quality and the service from the dealers

I was on my motorbike on holiday in France 3 years ago. We stopped , thankfully, in an ar conditioned Ibis hotel and the outside temperature at 1630 was 44 Celsius. That's hot !

A fair review I think and I like the way he doesn't start comparing it to Audi and BMW like British reviewers would.

Many years ago we parked to go for a walk in a completely empty car park in the middle of winter near Burnham on Crouch in Essex. While we were putting on our walking boots at the back of the car a 4x4 came into the car park and proceeded to park in the very next space to us. As the drivers door opened we heard the father say to his kids " Be careful how you open the doors as there isn't much room"
I wanted to say something to him but my wife dragged me away noticing I was rapidly turning into Victor Meldrew !!

My average MPG is around 53 too, pleased with that.

I really don't understand buying a secondhand car online that you've never seen, especially if you're in the bath as the advert shows ! When I am spending a lot of money I really want to see what I'm buying in the flesh so to speak.

Having just watched the clever drone video showing the Hedge End Lexus dealership near Southampton it occurred to me that some dealerships are far bigger than others. Why ? My dealer in Maidstone is a lot smaller than some.. Is it down to sales history in a certain area or the amount of money willing to be invested ?

I have a loan car for a few days while a a minor ding is being sorted on my UX. This is my first Lexus so I find it interesting reading opinions about the UX from drivers who drive bigger cars and have it as a loan car. I know about the small boot and rear legroom etc,etc but I really don't think it drives like a go gart. The ride is very comfortable and quiet and refined compared to other cars I've owned. I've not driven an IS Or ES but I suppose after those it may not be as refined or comfortable. If you want a go cart my loan car., a Corsa fits the bill. Terrible noisy, bumpy ride and cheap, hard plastics inside and the seats are pretty basic. On the plus side the door mirrors fold in when I lock it unlike my £35,000 UX !

No, the person I spoke to I think was just the messenger rather than a workshop employee
