  1. Yeah sure. In the audio menu (dependant on which USB port you plug your lead into) you should see your phone listed in the audio sources. My phone is connected to USB1 so where it would normally have a USB Icon (like USB 2 shows), this is replaced with 'Deans iPhone' As you can see with it being plugged in directly the audio works perfectly. Btw.. The unit shows a red line through the phone but that's only because I took the photos immediately after switching the car on so the phone contacts etc had not loaded/connected yet. Hope that helps 👍
  2. So sorry - just assumed your phone was Iphone! Car is a 63 plate so 2013/2104. Agree - wireless connections on anything are never going to be as good a wired, but given the fact that the bluetooth range is typically a lot further in distance than a phone which is situated in the car, technically it shouldn't be an issue. Several times I've been chatting on the phone to a friend in the house when the missus has gone out in the car and when she pulls up on the drive the phone connects to the car!
  3. Hey Mr V - many thanks for that suggestion. I'll search the forum (via google 🤣) to see if I can find it. The missus has an Android phone so I'll get her to download Spotify on it and I'll try that to see if I encounter the same issues.
  4. I actually had another look last night whilst out and the timer/counter does appear, but concur to everything else you mentioned above! When you tried connecting via USB, was you using a genuine apple cable? Mine was and as mentioned in an earlier post it worked absolutely fine so that's one option. However I prefer the phone to be connected wirelessly - don't like the wire clutter with USB lead. I could put the phone out of sight in the armrest so there's no clutter because I'd forget it every time I got out of the car!
  5. Yes I also get the 2 second delay too! I might call the dealers to see whether they have updated the software. As mentioned above, unless I plug the phone directly into car via USB, I don't get album covers or even the timer/counters in the head display. Just the name of the track on startup, but then that does not update to the next track. Since the software update, has this resolved all that for you?
  6. Oh right, didn't know you could just replace the batteries, my TPMS looks like a sealed unit? Thought you would have to buy new ones?
  7. I believe all 4 are genuine OEM from Lexus. I did however had my wheels repainted about 18 months ago and the guy who did them showed me one of the TPMS where the casing was cracked slightly. We didn't think this was something that would cause dodgy reading so he repaired it and put it back in. Maybe this could be where the issue lies??
  8. Strange how yours work and mine doesnt. Granted your files are local on your phone but Bluetooth nevertheless. I've never tried this before but I connected the iphone via a USB lead and played Spotify that way. Like yours the tunes played flawlessly with picture of cover, changed to the next tune and everything updated. I then unplugged the lead and reconnected back to the car wirelessly and it reverted back to normal, no picture of cover and wouldn't update. Not sure why its doing this - in both instances none of the music files are stored locally on the iPhone, both are being streamed??
  9. The car has been in the family since nearly new in 2014 and this warning light has been on constantly I'd say for about 3 or 4 YEARS!! The tyre pressure are fine (around 36psi). I have reset the TPMS many times after checking the pressure using the button located under the steering wheel, this clears it for about a day or two before it comes back on again - that's in winter and summer. When the car has been back to Lexus for service and I've asked them several times to look at it they either say is that the pressure in the tyres was low or they reset it themselves. Either way between a day or within a week of them resetting, that bloody light is back on again. It's now at a stage where they want to charge me £180 an hour for them to instigate into it further - er no thanks, i'd rather stare at that light for another 4 years before I paid that sort of money, we're in a recession you know!! Surely these monitors can't be that sensitive to the point where the pressure drops slightly and the light comes on??
  10. Had the car a couple of years and there's a couple of issues I've noticed with the bluetooth on the car, its terrible! My iPhone does auto connect on startup, and it will play music from it (Spotify). However the display unit (screen) in the car shows the song currently being played but doesn't update when the next song comes on. The only time it will update is if I switch the car off and on again, but simply reverts back to not updating when the next song is playing. I've also have regular instances where music is playing and none of the display audio control buttons in the car respond (that's including the ones on the steering wheel) meaning you can't skip songs, pause etc. What I end up doing is waiting until I stop at traffic lights, put the car in Park, switching off the car, switching back on again to reset it and then it will work, Its so annoying. FYI This is all bluetooth connection only - I have no problems with the display or controls when using the USB port, Id say CD's would be fine too, but hey who has CD's these days? 🤣 The phone is usually positioned in that little gap in front of the shift lever so it should have a perfect connection. It doesn't stop with the audio either, I even have issues with the hands-free phone. Sometimes it wont connect on startup, sometime it connects (I get the importing contacts display), however when I get a call and press answer, it either doesn't respond (it just shows the callers number on the screen) or even though it says it connected it hasn't and the voice is coming from the iphone as opposed to the car. I then have to pick up my phone (illegal - i know) turn off the bluetooth, turn back on again and it will connect, which by that point the caller has gone. It's really strange and so annoying. I wanted to share you with guys to see if you had similar experiences and if so how did you fix??? Cheers 👍
  11. UPDATE:- I received the standard courtesy video from Lexus yesterday afternoon. They ran a Medtronic test on the battery and it came up with 'replace battery' which is being fitted this morning £221.00. They said the lifetime of the battery is generally between 7 and 11 years. Mine lasted 9 years so bang in the middle, I can't really moan too much but the timing could have been better, right before xmas!
  12. Thanks for the heads up on this! I spoke with Lexus this morning and they've looked on file and said it hasn't had a new battery since new so that's that mystery solved. I asked if the battery was checked in October when the car was serviced why this wasn't this picked up, she didn't really answer that question. Was told it could be either one of two things, battery fault or electrical fault. So the car is going in to dealers today for an overnight evaluation of the battery and the warranty covers this service so let's see what comes of that. If it is the battery (which judging by all the other posts on here, it most likely this), I'll just get them to replace it, £225 is expensive, but the last thing I need this is for me to have to also replace the head unit! FYI - I was aware the battery isn't covered by the Relax warranty - I did say this in my OP. I just wanted to know what was actually covered by this warranty that's all, perhaps I should have made another post about it to avoid confusion! I've since found the T&C's in full and it's all outlined there. Cheers
  13. I'm not actually sure if the battery has been replaced since the car was purchased to be honest. I've had the car since Dec 2020, my dad was the sort of bloke that if Lexus told him something needed replacing when in for a service, he would just get them to do it so maybe it could have been. All the service and paperwork is at my mums house so I'm just going to ring the dealer today to find out whether or not its been changed.
  14. Wow.... I came on here trying to find out if the fault I was having was common.... Seems that way! My 2013 IS300h F-Sport has also had the exact same fault with the car not starting, warning message, flashing dashboard etc., and over the last 6 weeks too! Today was the 3rd time this has happened, each time I've had to get jump leads and another car to get it to start. Luckily in every instance I wasn't stuck anywhere (or needed to get somewhere) but obvs I need this looking into. I work from home so the car only gets used once maybe twice week for a short run which I know isn't a lot. However the car has been in the family since 2014. It was inherited from my Dad who was retired and again he didn't put many miles on it and he never had an issue with the battery. It did go completely flat before in lockdown, but a lot of peoples cars did. I live in the UK and over the few days it been really cold, we've had temperatures down to -5 and snow. Obviously this doesn't help but the last 2 occasions the temperature was circa 10 degrees. The car was serviced in October by the main dealer and they allegedly checked the battery and also the hybrid system then so I'm not quite sure if discharge is something that happens over a period of time, how did they have failed to miss that there seems to be an issue with the battery? I will be speaking to them tomorrow to see what they say but I also wanted to ask you guys about the 'Extended 12 month Warranty' I got with my recent service. Found the T&C's and can't really make sense of them:- Lexus Warranty Lexus warrants that its vehicles are built to the highest standard and should any part of the vehicle require repair or replacement as a result of a manufacturing defect during the period of warranty, the part will be repaired or replaced as necessary completely free of charge by any Authorised Lexus Repairer regardless of any change of vehicle ownership during the period of cover. The length of your manufacturer's warranty, together with full terms and conditions, are detailed in your Owner's Manual. Lexus Relax Eligibility Criteria Lexus Relax is automatically activated on completion of a service carried out in accordance with the manufacturer-recommended service intervals for your vehicle at an Authorised Lexus Repairer. It applies to vehicles: a) on which the manufacturer warranty has expired; or b) the manufacturer warranty has a remaining coverage time of less than 12 months or 10,000 miles; and c) that are Less than 10 years old from date of first registration; d) that have covered less than 100,000 miles. The car is 9 yrs old, so 6 yrs past the standard 3yr manufacturing warranty you get on a new car but its only has only done 38k miles. I'm just confused as to what exactly is covered with this new warranty? I'm gonna take a wild stab at this and say it's all waffle and it doesn't really cover anything, they certainly won't replace the battery thats for sure! Thanks in advance
  15. Thanks to everyone for their responses above - really appreciate it. Can anyone recommend a repairer? I live in the North West of the UK if that helps. Thanks in advance
  16. Over the past few weeks I've seem to have developed a rip on the drivers side inner door panel of my F-Sport. No idea how this has come about but the position of the rip is where your arm/elbow would naturally sit when driving. Not a heavy user of the car either (I work from home so it gets out about once or twice or week), but I've noticed the rip is increasing in length from when it was first spotted. Has anyone else come across this? Can this small panel be replaced or would i have to replace the whole panel? Is it possible to be repaired? Thanks in advance
  17. Hi - car is now up in the for sale section: Cheers
  18. Hi - I've got a lot on with work over the next couple of weeks but will try and get pics on here (in a new post) as soon as I can. MOT was done last week, but with her being in storage for the last 12 months she needs a clean for the pics etc. I was gonna get her ready over the weekend but the storm put paid to that idea! Thanks for your patience 🙏🏾
  19. Sorry pal only just seen this! Yes she's still available. Silver IS200 ('53 plate) first reg September 2003, low mileage too 83k. She's been in storage since her last MOT which was Feb 21. Will be up for sale in Feb, just need to get some recent pictures of her and I'll put a proper post on here. Cheers
  20. Hi pal, I have a 2003 IS200 which I'm thinking of selling in the New Year?
