Thanks but I have decided to opt for the solid sided versaliner from Boot Buddy. Expensive but it did an excellent job on a previous car.

I contacted Boot Buddy regarding their ‘versaliner’ mentioning the non regular shape of the UX boot and this was their reply…. “Thank you for your enquiry. We are pleased to hear you were happy with your previous liner! When a car boot has wheel arches the liner does not mould to these as the sides are made straight. This does mean that some space is lost but many of our customers, including myself, use this area for storage that is hidden out of sight when the liner is in-situ and is easily accessible by bending the sides inwards slightly. You can see photos of our liner in your car by following this link https://www.boot-buddy.com/product/bbvl-lexus-ux-suv-2018-present-does-not-include-electric-model/ and selecting ‘customer photos’ towards the bottom of the page. If you would like me to send you the dimensions the liner would be made to then please let me know.” ………as this product worked so well on a previous car I think I will probably go for it, unless anyone has any better ideas. The sides and base were really solid and did a good job of protecting the boot from not just damage but also HAIRS!

I am after recommendations for a boot liner for the UX. one that protects the sides as well as the floor. On a previous car, a VW Passat estate, I used a solid versaliner from Boot Buddy, which was superb. Despite having two wet and muddy labradors every day in the car the car went back after 3 years with the boot looking like new. However that boot was very square and the liner hugged the sides. I am not sure it would work as well in my less regular shaped UX when it arrives. Any suggestions?

The online ‘brochure’ states the ML has 13 speakers and as you say standard on Takumi or option on F-Sport. Has no mention of 10 speakers. That only appears when you build online, with the Premium Plus pack. the brochure also states all variants have the analogue digital clock with GPS, which I quite like, but online reviews say that with the new touchscreen this has been done away with???

One thing that should be raised I think is the quality, or consistency, of the information on their website which gives details of the specifications. I have noticed inconsistencies such as if you build a MY23 UX Premium Plus on their website it states it comes with a premium 10 speaker system. On the price list/spec sheet on the website it states 6 speakers. Like many companies they concentrate on having an all singing, all dancing, flashy website but when it comes to the content that is where it falls down. Look at how long it took them in the UK to even get details of the MY23 UX on the UK website after it was announced to the motoring press. I called in a dealers I was passing last week and asked about the speakers and they stated ALL MY23 UX’s had 10 speakers….which I think is wrong. 🙄 printed brochures were so much better!🙄

The MY23 specs state it does so maybe Lexus have realised that this is really a necessity on a ‘premium’ vehicle. It also lists it as included if you build it on their website.

According to the spec on my new UX Premium Plus it does have auto folding mirrors. Due in November so we will see?

I ordered in July and was told that my order would be to MY23 specs as production would be to this spec from August. Having had previous experience of the dreaded touch pad I checked with three other dealers and they all stated the same. They also said demo cars would be available from September.

Thanks for the advice. I think you have just confirmed what I was thinking. The Lexus dash cam is not great and I think I will order elsewhere when the new car arrives and get a specialist company to install…..I don’t trust myself to do it neatly! Thanks again.

I have read some of the posts on dash cams on this very useful site, as I eagerly await the delivery of my UX. despite this I am still not sure which way to jump. The dealer is quoting £375 for the ‘Lexus’ Nextbase, I presume the 380gw, with front and rear cameras, I believe this is the normal price. Also I believe that this is not Lexus specific, just a dash cam Nextbase supply for manufacturers/fleet, etc. Nextbase will supply and fit the 522gw, again front and rear, for £313. As far as I can see the 522gw has superior specs, comes with their 256gb card (far bigger than the ‘Lexus’ one), and has addition features such as Alexa. It seems a much better option to go for the 522gw although I must admit I would prefer one fitted by Lexus. I am rather precious with my cars.🙄 Does anyone have any views on this?
