  1. So, the exact time last year I saw this Lexus LC500 parked in a UK car park and thought 'they are a lovely looking car.' Four days after, I test drove one. Thank you Lexus Bolton. Eleven months later, I finally bought an LC500h after a few abortive attempts. Same colour, inside & out. A year later to the day, the exact same car parked in the exact same spot, almost 250 miles from my home. Admittedly we were staying in the same hotel and using the same car park. Thanks to whoever you are. You cost me a bucket load of cash but thank you anyway. And yes, that's my X4 M40d daily driver parked next to it. The last one featured is mine, snapped up by a reg plate spotter on another forum. Merry Christmas!
  2. I too have got the warning indicator on but all tyres are at correct pressure. Even tried increased pressure on all tyres but no change. Only happened when it got very cold the other week.
  3. One of the downsides in not buying a 20/21 plate LC500 is the lack of update to the aging infotainment system for Android Auto or Apple Car Play. If you haven't used Apple or Android in your Lexus (or any car for that matter) you'll never go back. The navigation systems on offer alone, (Waze, Google Maps, TomTom etc) are far superior to the built-in satnav let alone all the other integration it offers. I came across a relatively cheap method of adding it by an additional screen but didn't want to dangle the device off the windscreen. It's also a fair reach from the driver’s seat if you wish to input any of the CarPlay's features. I went through quite a few before choosing this one, reasons being it's a capacitive 1080 HD screen (others I tried had poor resolution & resistive screen) & a 7" display. Most are 9 & 10 inch, but they obscure other information on and around the centre console & leave too much hanging over the left (or right in LHD) passenger compartment so leggy persons will hit the side of the display. The Car Play screen is a 7" device by APHQUA and is available on Amazon for £219GBP, (See: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B6V9DT8J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) If you contact the manufacturers help desk they will also replace the start up splash screen with a Lexus one FOC. Nice! The mount is from a company called Brodit (see https://www.brodit.com/en/filter?texts=655377 ) remember to choose LHD or RHD !! It clamps to the side of the passenger grab rail and is really sturdy. Pity it’s not nicer looking as it’s just 3D printed but there it is. To complete the mounting hardware I used an iBolt AMPS adapter plate from Amazon (see: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009AYLYWA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I used the double sided sticker to fix to the Brodit mount and then drilled the four holes for the screws supplied with the adapter plate. Not sure it's entirely necessary but I did anyway. What's nice is the entire mount is easily removable if desired. The APHQUA is powered by it's supplied 12V DC plug & that together with the audio output cable (another Amazon purchase see: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06Y37Z8LV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ), plugs in to the two sockets under the arm rest. This literally completed the installation. I will get the cables routed upwards into the corner of the glove compartment area but that's a job for my auto-electrician later in January when he fits the BlackVue cameras front and rear. Any questions drop me a PM. Merry Christmas! 20221212_145350.mp4
  4. Hi Guys, no ship not mine haha!!! Wind Turbines are near Saunton Sands. Yes it gets so windy it's almost impossible to stand up straight without getting blown over. I see Kevin you are in Cornwall so maybe we can start our own Devon & Cornwall Lexus Club!!!
  5. Yep, my new home is very modest but big enough for me. Lots to get used to. I'll get there and enjoy some lovely cars along the way. The LC is a stunning looking car.
  6. Thank you but unfortunately the house isn't mine, it's two of my best friends. I had to leave my beautiful house behind me last year when my wife decided to do walkies after 34 years!! Still, at least I've still got a few nice cars in my garage 😎
  7. Thanks Fred. I get so many comments on the car it's great. I think the colour is a magnet and and you're right, in the sunshine it's magical.
  8. In this freezing temperature just smoking around, about 28mpg. Very hilly here too. Took my friends V8 Jaguar XK (non supercharged) for a drive almost identical route and returned 17mpg. I don't suppose your car meet is happening this Sunday Brett?
  9. Only mod so far was to cut the beautiful front grill hider aka number plate. Next week I have front and rear BlackVue cameras being fitted plus Apple Car-Play & Android-Auto secondary screen to mount on top of the passenger grab rail. Thoughts of the car so far? It's still very much honeymoon period but enjoying the drive, the whole car just oozes quality. Considering the LC has been on UK roads since 2018 I'm inundated with fantastic comments usually starting with 'I've never seen one before', followed by endless superlatives on its design. I think the colour really grabs the attention especially in the sun. Downsides, hoped mpg was better but its been very cold recently, the infotainment input is as bad as most point out, the Levenson car audio should be better (my BMW X4 M40d audio makes it look weak in all areas) and the headlights whilst bright aren't a patch again on my BM. Need to do a lot more miles and will be as from next week, where it'll be my daily driver including many motorway miles. Am I impressed? Yes very much so. Even my brother said it was the best looking car on the road and the most beautiful shaped machine I've owned. 130+ vehicles so far, that's saying something. I tend to agree.
  10. The weather has been so bad since I collected mine I haven't really had chance to take any decent photos in a nice setting. Here's the best so far!
  11. My biggest worry was sticking the additional screen in to the top of the leather covered dash. I could see it leaving an ugly mark from the glue of the double sided fixing which would really ruin the aesthetics. Any comments Eddie?
  12. The wheels are circa £2500 EACH. To have them professionally refurbed if you kirb them will typically cost £250-300 each. The offer is for mobile wheel restorers who come out to you. I wouldn't let any of them get anywhere near the 21' beauties fitted to our cars.
  13. Ha!! I've just picked up my new (used) LC500h in the same colour. First drive, 200 miles. First picture filling up with £125 of 99 Ron... Many congratulations on your second. If I like this as much as I hope, I'm sure my bank balance will be itching at a V8 convertible!!!!
  14. You had two?! I loved mine and kept it for two years, a long time for me then. Slowed down a bit since I retired last year but still seem to be getting through a few.
  15. After a slightly abortive attempt at procuring an LC500h, I finally have a date for collection of a fully loaded model (HUD, Mark Levinson, Sport Plus included), Friday week is collection day. Same colour and interior. Can't wait!!
  16. Love this presentation, thank you for posting it. Makes me want to consider a V8 version now!
  17. I totally agree and I feel that if the shape wasn't so arresting it would be colour dependant which it is most certainly not.
  18. Full electric? Just one, a Renaut Twizy!!!!! I have a new Nissan Ariya e-Force 87kW all electric on order however for my daily, due in February. The last hybrid I had was a BMW i8, now that was a special car. Never owned an SC430 and to be honest I thought Lexus had been smoking something when they came out with such a gawpy looking shape after the beautiful svelt lines of the SC400 V8 Ltd. So I guess you now have the gorgeous green convertible? You certainly are a Lexus convert! My LC is being delivered on Thursday this week so expsct lots of images.
  19. It was this spec that got me thinking about buying in December last year. Stunning if a little in your face !!
  20. Thanks for coming back to me. When the car finally gets delivered I'll check out the installation. Mine's red with caramel, 500h.
  21. Okay great. I'll pm you when I'm going. It'll be a rare site to see 2 x LC I'm sure...
