  1. You need someone in the boot with a torch and someone outside with a hose. With a leak as bad as yours you should be able to spot where it's coming in. It's unlikely to be the seams, more likely a rubber seal.
  2. The nose weight is low, which isn't ideal, but as a tow car it's really decent. Pulls well, very stable. I came from a 3 litre diesel auto BMW with air suspension which was fantastic and I was worried the soft spring suspension and lower torque of the RX would be a problem - but it isn't. The CVT gearbox works brilliantly towing.
  3. We had a similar problem. I had two suspects: 1. The USB C connector inside the phone was worn and dirty. It therefore made intermittent connection. I washed it out gently with a electrical connector cleaner spray and a toothbrush. That helped. 2. The quality of the USB lead is very important. Cheap leads can't carry the charging current when the phone battery is low and the connection to the car drops out a lot when the phone battery is low, or even below perhaps 90%. It's fine now.
  4. Again from experience with a BMW, there's a height calibration procedure in the diagnostics. Here you measure the heights at each side and enter them, the car does the maths and corrects itself. I wonder if the garage has misread the instructions and done this incorrectly. You don't enter the desired correct values, you enter the actual (incorrect) values which can seem a little odd.
  5. I think you need some diagnostics. I'd suspect the height sensors or wiring. Either there will be some fault codes logged or viewing live data from the sensors should reveal what is going on. I very much doubt it will settle itself. What I have seen on (a BMW) is after fitting new air struts a garage didn't connect the height sensor arm. The car always thought the suspension was low and inflated the strut to maximum.
  6. Sorry, yes you are correct. I believe I do have AVS, it was the Active Stabiliser option that wasn't on the Takumi and we couldn't select it.
  7. The 2022 RX450h Takumi has a lot but it doesn't have: Adaptive Variable Suspension I have one and unfortunately that wasn't an option for some reason. It does have: Rear door sunshades Illuminated scuff plates It also has Rear cross traffic alert
  8. Please, no one post any pictures of the fix on the internet. Criminals use the internet too. Kenvin100 you'll just have to keep pushing Lexus Canada. In the UK they're fitting the fix on demand and then will roll it out to all RX customers as soon as they can.
  9. You can get very tiny pinhole leaks that eject coolant when the system is under maximum pressure. When this happens the car is usually being driven and the engine hot. The coolant just evaporates. To find it there are two options: 1) Get the engine very hot and inspect it whist running - if that's even possible with a hybrid. 2) Get the coolant system pressure tested, and because it's a tiny leak over a bit longer than usual, say 1 hour. Just because the Main Dealer can't see the leak doesn't mean there isn't a leak. Having said all that, in the original post it's not 100% clear whether the drop is due to the coolant being full during the service (possibly a warm engine) and dropping when cold. I'd expect a drop in this case. The coolant needs to be topped up and checked only when the engine is cold.
  10. Perhaps see if another dealer can get and fit the towbar. If they can ask for your money back from the first dealer. Or find someone who can do an aftermarket tow bar. The genuine one is detachable which is nice but the Lexus wiring loom doesn't disable the rear parking sensors when you put the car in reverse so it's not the best.
  11. The antiozonant in the tyres, which is added to prevent the tyre cracking, can work it's way to the surface and then it turns brown. Harmless and it can be cleaned off.
  12. I have heard of premature cracking on, I think, another brand of premium tyres recently. This was on much newer tyres. Yours are 4 or 5 years old. Yes UV will cause cracking but tyres have carbon black in them to resist this and driving the car releases an agent to prevent cracking but a quality tyre shouldn't crack in a few years even with light use. I suspect poor storage or quality control on certain batches. Having said that in the world of caravans the it's almost the law that you change your tyres at 5 years and never longer than 7 years whatever the tread wear. It's not actually law but all the caravan dealers and associations seem to think it is! This is because with long periods static the side walls can crack then blow out whilst under tow.
  13. Thank you everyone, especially PDM. I had previously seen reference to lost speed camera warnings and the possibility of a USB update but when I looked it seemed to be only for MM17. I even went to lexus-tech.eu and it redirected me to lexus.co.uk. Logged into lexus.co.uk it only offers Over The Air Updates. Armed with the guide above and the mention that MM17 and MM19 maps are the same, I registered with lexus-tech.eu. Initially in the Free section I couldn't find any MM19 maps...but in the Payable section I found MM17/MM19 maps. I followed the instructions, struggled a bit with the device ID and Request code...why do they use 0,O,o and I,i,L,l and 1 (that's zero, capital O, small o, the letter I, capital and lower case, the letter L, capital and lower case and the number 1)! And around 2 hours later it's all done. Downloading13.2GB, unzipping it and writing it to a USB took a while. The car took around 70 mins. Thank you very much.
  14. I have a 2022 RX450h, built in late 2021. It came with 2021 maps. The brochure when we bought the car promised over the air map updates. The UK handbook says it has over the air updates. The car allows over the air updates (well attempts them) and the Lexus app / user portal offers over the air updates, and you can even change the regions. Well it doesn't work and the Main Dealer is saying they don't think my car has this feature !? The car has pretty much always said there is an update available (2022 v1). It downloads the update, installs it then comes up with this: Unable to complete...full map update required. So I take the car to the dealer for them to do the full update. They have the car for 3.5 hours (including a first service). They tell me they've done the update. On the way home I decide to check and the maps are still 2021 v2 and the car still wants to update to 2022 v1....So I let it attempt the update, surely the dealer has fixed the problem even if they didn't update the map...nope the whole update takes around an hour...and fails... Anyone else either got this problem, or are finding the over the air updates work fine for them? I know I can use Android Auto, Google Maps, Waze and Here maps, but when we're towing a caravan it's a whole lot better to have the destination set in the car sat nav for those rural locations where there is no internet.
