  1. just to add insult to injury, tonight in an icey carpark I slid into a pole n hood pop up failure has shown up (as well as needing a new bumper 😭) loving Lexus hurts!!! at this point I think I'd rather hurt a pedestrian than have the hood pop up for their safety lol woe is me🫣
  2. I am now in a DEEP deep depression 😭 in 2019 I hit the back of a vw golf at 10 mph and the repair bill was €10,000 for bumper and any other damage, but garage said €7,000 was the hood pop replacement, it stuck in my craw big time, but it had to be done n put down to experience, Tonight roads are iced a bit n I entered a carpark, I tried to turn right towards the supermarket and front wheels slid straight n then hit a grippy bit n car turned hard right into some poles 🫣 front drivers side bumper took a small hit (so new bumper needed) but the hood pop warning came on, I got out to look n see how bad it was n could not see the hood popped the way it hat back in 2019 so im wondering could I be lucky and only have to replace the bumper? just to add I only paid 3 weeks ago €2890 for replacement audio headset 😢 so I am feeling the downside of owning my beautiful Lexus is300h f sport and wondering if the bonnet didn't pop up either at the front or near the windscreen could it be my lucky day n get away with only a bumper?? any help r ideas gratefully received, thanks in advance Tony
  3. I would have been happy to send my faulty unit to someone to try have it fixed after Lexus replaced it, for €2780 (and that was cheaper than the €3260 another main dealer wanted)but when I asked for the unit they informed me that the faulty one was being classed as a trade in against the new unit 😤😡 and was printed on the receipt as such, I love my Lexus but I really really hate the prices we are charged for something that seems to be a massive recurring fault throughout Lexus cars. Maybe they don't make enough profit selling their cars, so find ways to make more money by inserting faults that are well known but seemingly accepted by us, the people that love Lexus cars. The only thing that I can use to rationalise spending that amount of money on a 9 year old car is that it's the only fault I encountered since I purchased it in 2018 n spread over 5 years it sounds better lol
  4. When I complained to the Lexus dealer that wrongly diagnosed it as an amp fault he told me to be thankful it wasn't an NX because he has a customer that's getting a bill in excess of €8,000 to replace his head unit, I have rang every audio "expert" that I can find in Ireland and not one will say more than "sorry we don't touch them"
  5. Hi I seem to be a victim of the 2014 curse too, I have a 2014 is f sport and late last year all sounds stopped working and after talking with a few people I had resigned myself to it being the amp that failed, hadn't got the €1077 to get it done till 2 weeks ago and the Lexus dealer did a diagnostic n confirmed same, a different Lexus dealer gave me a price of €911 and went to get it done on Fri, they replaced the amp n nothing changed so now I'm looking at upwards of €2000 and not till nxt month 🫣
  6. Thanks Mikejt I haven't been able to follow up on anything the last while but I will definitely give them a call and ask if it's covered by the relax warranty coz they included that in the service in October. appreciate that 👍
  7. Cheers Nicky, Mine didn't go intermittently I only realised there was something wrong when my mobile was connected but no sound from it then checked the sat nav n audio system, I guess il just have to bite the bullet and bring it to Lexus dealer, in Ireland they don't do their own repairs so I might try an audio specialist first Thanks again
  8. Cheers for all the answers and suggestions 🤯
  9. Update, I got into the car today and immediately heard the same fan whirring type of noise louder than before, as I drove it I took a right turn and lo n behold the noise vanished.... until I had turned and the steering wheel returned to centre the noise was back and continued until I turned the car off, im no mechanic but how the hell could turning a steering wheel right have an effect on a fan like noise coming from somewhere under the centre console towards where the heated/cooling seats buttons are? I don't want to go to Lexus over here with no idea what it could be because I have not had good experiences with them the last 4 years, Would really appreciate any ideas or knowledge. Thanks
  10. hi all I only just found/joined this forum because I am having the same problem with my 2014 is 300h f sport (and praying that I will find the only inexpensive issue associated with Lexus 🙄) my issue is identical to winrris with all systems using sounds being silent, but there was a couple of things happened when it first started that I didn't notice anyone else mentioning, I noticed a noise that sounded like a cooling fan whirring for about 3 months previous but it was so quiet that I thought it was just I hadn't noticed it before, it seemed to come from behind where the cd player etc is located, I bumped my knee against the centre console and the noise went quiet for a few seconds and started again, im saying this because the night the audio stopped working there was a much louder fan noise when I started the car which weirdly stopped when was turning to the left but started again as the steering wheel centred again, I stopped to go into a shop n when I started the car again the noise was gone, I only realised 20 minutes later that although my phone was connected to the Bluetooth there was no sound and after checking the radio n sat nav realised it was the whole audio system gone, has anyone experienced anything similar when their audio failed? Any advice or insights would be much appreciated, apologies for the book I've just written im brand new to this and wanted to give as much detail as I could, Thanks in advance Big T
